Beware, this demo requires FP16 texture filtering and FP16 render target blending to work correctly. It also is slow on some configurations, and the demo-size is much bigger than it should have been. This was made in a real hurry.

not bad atall, quite nice synching aswell, had to copy d3dx9_32.dll but then ran fine on vista x64 with a gforce 7800.
Mad props to kusma and gloom for creating this.

Ok,. maybe I don't have that FP16 thing (Radeon 9600pro here) and it crashed before running (actually the usual error message "scyphozoa.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close"). I'll wait for the video or try in another computer.

Optimus: Radeon does not support those features, but you're just supposed to get a warning and the demo incorrectly rendered. No crash should occur, and I'd really like to debug this. Would you mind drwatson'ing it for me? Start -> run - "drwtsn32", and email me the log-file.

Funny that all the people who suffer from the crashes seems to have radeon 9800 (or 9600 which is basically the same card).
However, from the logs Optimus and StingRay sent me, it seems like the problems are SSE-related (lack of or too low SSE-version). I compiled the executable with SSE2 enabled by a mistake, it shouldn't make much of a difference anyway. here's a version without SSE. See if that works or not.
src: Yeah, the main problem is the 12 MB file "data/sphere.x". I'm lazy, I know ;)

hm, apparently the audio goes out of sync after a little while under some windows systems. i don't have this problem on my mac, but if the video sucks on your computer, let us know. :)

Great tune, I love the look and effects, and the sync rules. Still, it lacks something, and gets a little boring (it loses its way after the first wobbly part I reckon). Somehow, only mfx can get away with doing things like this. Still a rules overall.
Good tune, nice design. One or two more decent effects and I would have rated this as a cool demo. Now it just suffers from the "too little time and too little content"-syndrome.
Loved it. Looks great and the syncs work. Too bad about the "scene IDM" though :P

The music and graphics are so well coupled, especially near the end with the low sub-bass and the camera shake, it's very effective.

I really love this. A good lesson in how to make one effect last for a whole demo a still keep things exciting and interesting. I've watched it quite a few times over the years and I still love the hell out of it :)
