Wow - I find this version visually way better than the one released at BP07 - but of course it's also quite a few bytes larger :D

malmix: No, the compo was originally a 4k/64k compo (at least it was announced like that on the webpage). It just so happened that nobody submitted anything larger than 5k. The organizers added to the confusion by announcing it as a 4k compo, with the sidenote that one of the intros was a 5k. :)
We made no attempt to keep it under 4k. I thought that would be obvious from the name. ;)

Even with interpolated grid techinque and first-hit optimizations I'm still suprised at the speed of this thing on '060! Gonna have to have a go at implementing some of these routines myself...

This intro rocks, just as the original Rapo Diablo! There are strange and wonderful things going on in the code department and don't get me started on the sound - it's quite amazing considering it's a 5k intro! I can only dream about creating such beard-y cool samples in a 4k!
