the video link is broken :(
Both the "demo" mode and the interactive portion are nicely polished and somewhat entertaining. I'm no fan of the music though.
i liked this a lot.
impressive - and i hate you guys for that :D
Really cool, nice story :)
super rocks, the soundtrack is very good, but the ambience would be even better if it looped properly
wow! you guys rulke so much!!
impressive work!
impressive work!
Is it possilble to leave the first room in interactive mode?
Liked it lots!

pure coder p0rn! but even more: this one features a nice story (anybody mentioned "cube" yet? ;) and stylish design..
Stunningly vivid, with great feeling and excellent technical realization. Massive props.
52 MB packed for 1 or 2 scenes? :)
Nice work but I did not dig it somehow, maybe because something "demoscenish" is missing about it ;)
Thumb up for the realization though (despite the unjustified 52 MB imo...)

one of the best around!!
nesnausk! killed me ! best gfx ever ...normal map ..+ ps 2.0 + super cool gfx ...arghhh
A question came to my mind reading Keops' post: Would it be OK to nominate this for a Scene.Org award? (Given that it would fit in a category.) As said, something demoscenish is missing, though I'm sure the guys from Nesnausk would appreciate a Scene.Org award more than Aenima did (or didn't, actually).
Anyway. NeARAZ, great work, see you and OneHalf again at Assembly ;)

nice
o_O wow!
to big. to much polys(for what?), just looks good from distance.
not bad... but not really good
not bad... but not really good
@gargaj: why shouldn't this simply fit into the demo-category?
Xenusion : to much polys.... go make cubes !

very nice :)
I'm very impressed, mostly by the cool story and thought behind it. Sure beats the mindless and boring effect scripts of most modern demos.
Great.
HOWEVER...
52mb for zip and 33mb for the video???
Doesn't this defeat the whole purpose of making realtime demos?

shane: no.
The current demo exactly!!
great effect and cool music.
some refrection and fullscene
bumpmapping was cool.:)
good works!

nice, solid quality stuff
Shane: it does somehow, that was my point :)
o__O
very cool, but its way to large for my opinion. yes big creds to the makers! its really cool. but from when was 'low-poly' under 200k triangles/frame? ;) havent used over 20k myself ;) but yes, im poor :D
thnx for video!
thnx for video!
Toxie: what I rather meant is "Given it doesn't get 0wn3d by 5 better looking demos later this year" :)
52mb? sux!
since this is an imaginecup-entry, i'm not going to bitch about the size... creds for cool modelling and some good looking rendering, but it was a bit too cheesy and empty/boring for my taste. still well worth a solid thumb.
after watching this piece of art, i can only say one thing... superb!
the closest thing to an artistic 3d version of the movie(s) CUBE (here it is toxie!:), or atleast, thats what it triggered in my mind.., good use of all possible 2.0 shaders out there i think, nice music, cool design, im loving it!!
The only thing its really missing, is some good ol' 2D artwork and a starfield! =)
DO U BELIEVE IN GOD?

damn kickass!
Great, great graphics!
Maybe demoparties need to up their sizelimit, as textures and normalmaps etc. need space to look this good!

Absolutely beautifull & refreshing.
It rocks very very hard !

Looks really good but didn't exactly blow me away. Maybe I need to upgrade my graphics card?
omg the quality is perfect ! :) nice demonstration of the 3d engine
ok let's see:
[-] textures
[-] zip size
[-] too short
[-] color scheme
[-] the white inbox doesn't fit the outbox (look for "All is full of Love" and "Second Bad Vilbel")
[-] ambient occlusion looks like hand drawn lightmaps
[-] depth of field
[+] smooth rendering
[+] excellent animation
[+] using some effects that I wanted to use in my next prod :)
[+] a story that fits to the theme of the contest
[+] for representing demoscene on Imagine Cup :)
[+] for lot of work very nice done
And in my calculus it means a big thumb UP :)
keep it going!

(Demo Of The Year!)
btw to nesnausk! webadmin: i'm not sure your site is enough strong to serve all the future hits at it.
some mirrors for the demo and the video would be wise imho ;)

Very nicely build. Also the interactive part is great.
Nice rendering and a cute story. It shows the makers are skilled people, but this is not a demo to me. (And it isn't supposed to either, right?)
this must be a machinima then!!
it seemed pretty average to me to be honest.
looks good compared to a lot of demos because a) they bothered to put some effort into the modelling, rather than just making cubes and b) they used some typical but modern techniques to make it look less plain than most 3d demos.
it looked ok, ran ok (music wasnt great tho).
btw, the art looked a bit 64k-ish for 50mb. the textures, normalmaps and environment models looked really generated, with only the statue and the character standing out. the colours were dull too - it was too washed out and plain. didnt like the anims that much either, e.g. the wall hitting was really un-solid. it generally seemed to lack style, looked a bit too much like a plain standard videogame demo.
oh, your dof effect looked a bit bad (or maybe it just wasnt well used? dunno. seemed just to smudge the out of focus object a bit rather than actually make some decent dof effect). the shadows looked a bit bad too, it basically looks like you blatted a planar shadow on the flat floor, cos self shadowing isnt at all evident :)
you had a lot of potential from syntonic dentiforms, but i dont think it's been lived up to yet.
the sad thing is that this does stand out compared to most demos, which is more a reflection on other demos than this one. :) sorry. good luck in the imagine cup tho.

Well, yeah. Kinda big, but ran smooth in my 9600, the animations and gfx were absolutely great, and yey for the concept and the very well done direction!!!
btw AWESOME ANIMATIONS!
smash: and yes, no falling balls, cubes on chains etc in here ;D (i assume this is your definition of style :P )

eh?
eh?
(:
ROKKENROLL!
OK, no demo feeling, and not very good physics/reality in interaction between objects (robot sitting down and table breaks, robot hits walls). But there was definately quality in the models, textures and normal maps. Also liked the smooth robot movements.
"even better than a real thing"
Very good, Nesnausk is getting better with each release!
As to it's a demo or not:
IMHO stuff like this has been done in demo's for a long time. Remember Tribes? ..or more recently: Relais?

+ Super animations!
+ Using more effects than just glow and env
+ No humour
+ The castle looks good to me (except that it perhaps should have been evil bluish techno world instead).
+ Cool energy joints in the main character
+ Rather good try at a story
- No evil bluish technoworld behind the walls
- Main character seems to be a bit clumsy and his sixpack won't attrac many female bots.. Why this muscular explorer? I don't think Christopher Columbus was a heap of protein power.( ooh I'm all lonely , luckily I have my sixpack so I can crush my surroundings).

Yes, very impressive and professional looking animations, models and shaders, even if demos like that are not my cup of tea - thumb up.
Flawless execution, great art, ok music, good story. All in all, I agree with Smash in some points, but oh well, I liked it anyway.
And it even runs smoothly at 1680x1050 on my radeon 9800. Thumbs up!

my eyes lie to me :)
Some nice style, and better-than-average quality 3d. But it really left me feeling a bit disappointed. The subject is interesting enough, but isn't explored, just represented in a very simple way. Also, the animation didn't live up to the quality of the rest of the work, and the fact that the character can't break out of his prison and has to use some kind of video-game super-power looked a bit silly.
Thumb up for the good things and for putting in the work tho.

nice! the technology is used for the emotion, it's the way of the new generation of demos
High quality work.
download size too extreme for my aunt, she's only got an accustic coupler
w00t, incredibly nice!
The style was very nice, with an excellent build between the content and the story.
t3h shit!
Good. Except zip size.
too much size!!!
haven't seen it yet cause it's still downloading the 51 MEGABYTE ZIP FILE.
This better be good :)
This better be good :)
enjoyed it, really. character animation is certainly exceptional for a demo. only i hate it when one tries to enlighten me with stupid, obvious morals in the end ("be free to ..."). just leave the fresh piece without redundant education, plz.
Great graphics and animation. I only dislike some lowres texture details on the robot and the music, which doesn't fit at all with the idea.
Oh and I agree with monroe about the morals :)
Still, really great!

best demo so far this year..
tho reading the "cube" posts here on pouet ruined the story, but who care :)

seen only the video, but its awesome. cant believe a videocard can do this.
it rules!
it rules!
thumb-up for having used the bitchy ODE and finding the best ERP parameter ever in the demoscene
reaaaally really cool
this really r0ckz!!
give the white guy a name! :o)
give the white guy a name! :o)
great modelling and animation!
slightly boring music. it doesn't fit well. overall, it's not that stylish and its huge on top of that. i'm somewhere between rulez and ok... the benefit of the doubt.

good prod, but imagine cup is not a demoscene event right ?
anyway, np with my computer
AthlonXP 2700+, 512Ram and FX5900

ok, anyway it's nice, congrats
It's neato to see many modern features implemented in one demo. Looks fancy and runs smooth. However, as a demoscene production goes, the best bit was the wall particle animation. That was the closest thing to an "effect" rather than a "technique", if you catch my drift.
The interactive extra reminds me of the A500 days of sinus bob parameters and whatnot.

omfg
thats just cool
Looks nice. You can even control the robot yourself and smash those walls ;-) But why must is be so big. 50mb .rar ??
great rendering, but hey, doest it have to have 51megs?
Technically nice, but i wouldn't consider it as a demo. It's just realtime animation and nothing more, not to mention it's pretty boring.
Now here's a nice demo for a change!
ABSOLUTELY _breathtaking_, dudes!!!! (although it's a 50mb demo!!)
Great demo with realistic motion effects and extraordinary graphics with a very cool story-background!!!
VERY well done... I'm absolutely stunned about nesnausk's quality meanwhile!!
Keep up this high standard and you will become a true competitor to fR-releases!! :-D
Bye,
Weasel
...the 'free movement' option rules BIG as well!! :-D

nice engine, and the credits part rulez;)
everything already said.
The robot animation alone is worth thumb up!
And here is the thumb.... :-)
i love it !
Great 3D experience.
great production.
Artsy crap! ... oh wait!
Huuuuuiiiii, nice prod.
Music is a bit flat... but great animations.

Brilliant, doesn't feel much like a demo, but it is brilliant.
The Topic is a bit cliche, but the execution is very good :D.Congrats!
texture quality of the walls behind the walls is crispy crisp. love that. animations are fluent and coherent + it runs good at high res. technically no complaints, design-wise it's really dull and empty.
still a rul0r anyways__

statues are way ahead cooler than the sucking protagonist.
just <3
Thumbs for artwork, textures, music and the
jokes this fella performes in the finishing credits.
But all in all I wouldn't consider it a scene-demo
in the classic way

OMFG! :)
what a beauty!
definitely not a classic concept...

oh yay!
Nice graphics/3d but totally boring. The interactive mode is somewhat funny though (for about 3 minutes or so...)
boring, ugly, bad music
massive imo..
nicely done. not really demoscene prod though
Thumbs up for "I want more colors" mode!
wow
Nice concept.
Really, a gremlin must have stolen my thumb... o_O
anyway: Great.
anyway: Great.
game or demo ?
Very cool, even 2 years later.
Kign O_o--b
these strings rock.. really impressed.
One of the most impressive productions... AND it runs like a charm in 1280x1024! Nice story, great job!
brillant
way better than many top ten demos. Way better.
Impressive!
Pretty pretty cool!
über demo
+ very good performance on lowend nvidia 6200
+ nice mocap (??)
+ good design
+ unobtrusive, mellow bg music
+ interactive mode

Wow, the hard (cheap) way! ftw!
my only complaint - no arcade mode?:> this demo simply rocks.
Quite nice, actually.
For most parts, I like the soothing music and the story is also not bad, although not producing goosebumps on my skin.
And quite depressing, I must say - so, if I go and explore the boundaries, I will only discover the same crap over and over again?
Big piggy.

damn that was pretty cool, and fun :)
holy shit how come I didn't see that one before?!
Quite funny story. Awesome graphics.
big pink pig
great stuff! professional looking visuals and technically solid
thubumubuht
yup,nice
:)
Love the visuals, but that's it.
...really great animations!
Some kind of dance act with DJ Bobo moves, after the 3 robots met, would have been cool though... ;O)

boooooooriiiiiiiiiiiing as hell
i'm shocked.....
I usually don't like story demos... but this one is really neat.

better late than never. a very enjoyable and well crafted viewing experience.
this is def. a demo!

I second jack-3d.
Still rocks !
great animations and awesome visuals outside the shell. plus a really neat tune. not to forget the story. awesome prod.
