Absolutely gorgeous looking although I fear it's bugging on my machine (XP, 8600GTS, latest Forceware). I get lots of white flashing and frenetic movement. It might just be "desing" though. Heck, it rocks anyway... It even sounds good!

After watching the video, I realize that I got the same bug as ShaneThePete... I run a similar configuration here (There have been some issues with the 8600GTS lately - maybe its the current Forceware driver?).
Strange enough, the flickering disappears when the intro loops and starts for the second time. Anyway, fantastic 1k, Mentor! Already gave my thumb...

This is so unbelievable. I cannot say anything about the code, but I love the colors, forms and overall design. After watching some of the other stuff, I would have voted this one 1st even if it would have been shown in the demo competition. This is the best utilization of PS3.0 capabilities I have seen so far.
Implicit shapes really allows for some very nice constructs.

(Let's hope that this will serve as inspiration for others to try and do some "real" PS3.0 stuff. I think PS3.0 is so old now that it is legible for a demo to require PS3.0)

i'm still wondering how it is possible to have sound in 1k (with shaders and other stuff), lets see how much place it takes to have all the stuff in ur exe :

100-200 bytes for decompressor (i never write one maybe take less dont know)
450-500 bytes directx shader init (strict minimum (compressed))
200 bytes for shader ((500 bytes uncompressed), the one for tracie is certainly more than this)
200 bytes sound generator (maybe can be less dont know, but i guess even simple sin bass generator inside a buffer + sending the stuff PlaySound take place)


i'd like to desassemble tracie and see whats is inside but dealing with packer/unpacker stuff is above my levels
