DSP power and music synch is da bomb!
Not as lengthy as hmmm (perhaps for the better?) - some nice ideas, but lacks good (well any actually) graphics. Nice (de)focus effects..
outstanding demo! Escape RULZ!
I especially like the great 505 tune.
How is possible that standard 16MHz + 32MHz DSP can display so much textured polygons at once? I think that no other demo so far can't compete this one when is about 3D (except Delta).
In the past we used to watch one or two 3D cubes, than donut (one :)... but this demo looks absolute impossible on standard Falcon. What happend? How sudenly so massive 3D scenes are possible on standard Falcon?
Massive rescpect to Charon and No! and to Earx! ;)

This is an outstanding Falcon030 demo - with some additional GFX and Design it would have been an ultimate brainblaster....but it still rocks this way !
=)
that motherfucking BEE :)
Yeahhh! We waiting for more, more, more and more :-) Great Job
For me still the best bog-standard-falcon demo... Norman and Charon are coding gods!
To me, it is more "Hmm v.1.5", but still rules for that.
Again, Escape shows what the Falcon is good at. Terribly
nice cube effects - reviving the busy bee that is now so
popular - and i simply love that out-of-focus bouncing blobs
in the cube effect. Never seen anything like that before on the
Falcon.
Also, soundtrack is nice and the design, once again, consequent
and very Escape-esque.

Great Stuff!!!
The beginning has a very nice atmosphere but then it gets dissapointing... Thumb for the voxel part and sync!
Thumbs up for ze title and ze bee!!!
Rather boring objectshow. The parts with the cube and the animated gouraud bird are cool though. Nice music by 505 as always.
Boring slideshow? Sometimes I really don't get it.
I said objectshow, not slideshow. And nothing more it is, I just watched it again and I still find it incredibly boring. There are almost no 2d graphics and no real effects except for the "let's show you another object, this time maybe with a different polyfiller". I am sorry, but I don't find that particularly entertaining. For me it looks like a "Hey mom, I've coded my first 3D engine, let me show you what it can do" type of demo. 1 object on a black background followed by another object on a black background followed by the next object or maybe a little bit more advanced 3d scene. As said, it has a few nice parts but that still doesn't make it an interesting demo for me.
What bird?! It´s a bee :P ...wont comment the other senseless thoughts written above... bla
Yay!
Thanks Moondog, you are the typical intolerant Atari zealot. So bla to you as well....
Very awesome!
Stingray: Well this time you completely underestimate the DSP coding that has been put into this production.
Lotek, don't worry. It's just another platform-thing :) I mean stuff like this, this and this gets thumb up (gesh even a crappy Amiga conversion on Playstation). Apparently these things are better than "Underscore" by Escape. I guess, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.. Yet somehow I don't always see the logic :-)
rules
:)
Lotek, Evil: I thumb up whatever I like for reasons I don't have to explain. I think I explained in detail why I don't find this demo that entertaining. If you don't like it, not my problem. Plus, I have NEVER said the code is not good here! Anyway, I am now almost tempted to either: thumb up each and every Atari demo just so I don't have to deal with this whining anymore or b) thumb it down because of that very whining. And if I thumb up "a crappy Amiga conversion" is my decision (and I do like the original Amiga intro MUCH more than this very demo here!). Anyway, take it or leave it, I am tired of this "hey, that Amiga lamer didn'
t thumb up our super cool demo, he sucks". I really couldn't care less about that, plus, dear Evil, as you seem to be very interested about the things I thumb up, check my whole "demoblog view" and, what a wonder, you'll find quite some Atari demos that I've thumbed up! So much for this "another platform thing" stuf... Sometimes I really do not get you Atari people.

It's pouet land! It's not like a thumb down _should_ cause a general flamewar, as a) this prod has a bunch of thumbs up already and b) differing opinions are never bad and c) you explained your reasoning more detailed that 98% of all comments on here anyways, which is cool.
Just remember this place is a snakepit full of whatever (can't find the paragraph in the faq right now)

StingRay, come on.. whining because I stated the obvious? I am too a fanboy, but an Atari one :-) Still I appreciate Commodore things as well.
I mean, I probably thumb up Atari stuff which I wouldn't have thumbed up if it was for Commodore, and it just looks to be the reverse here. If that makes me a whiner and have to generalize me as "you Atari people", sure that's fine..

stingray, black background???? some of the backgrounds are green and blue! get your facts straight!!!
Shockwav3: notice that I did NOT thumb this demo down! :)
Evil: I know what you mean but you indeed did generalise. Anyway, I didn't intend to insult you in any way, I just wrote what came to my mind after reading your comment. Sure, I am more bound to the Amiga scene, no doubt about that but using that as an argument to question my taste when it comes to Atari demos is a bit ridiculous. Anyway, notice that I only said that I find this demo boring, I never said it was shit or anything. And, of course, everyone is entitled to his/her (heh ;D) opinion and I can see why people do like this demo, yes I really can. That however doesn't mean I have to agree with these people. :) And now, make more demos and merry christmas. :-)

thanks parapete, you made my day ;D (yes, i am colorblind amiga lamer :( that explains the colors in some of my productions at least :P)
I was talking in theory :P
flamewar, flamewar :))) (like in good old days) "I am now almost tempted to either: thumb up each and every Atari demo just so I don't have to deal with this whining anymore or b) thumb it down because of that very whining." stingRay
:D :D :D this demo is great 3D - BUT weak design. any "outside" watcher would give a pig but atari fanboys would give MASSIVE respect just for 3D engine (and bunch of 3D object). but yes... weak design :|

Typical falcon-demo for me. Cool (as far as I know) code totally ruined by the lack of design.
great code and design... naaa don't let us start that flame again...
samurai: yes, lets!
there's only one reason in the entire universe why i am thumbing this down, and that is, without any exception whatsoever, truly and honestly, because it runs on a box with an atari logo on it.

this one is for ruining the party for all the amiga people *sniff* *sniff*
One of my favourite falcon demos. Great mood!
great demo on standard falcon and i love that industrial-like music

Great one. Lotsa 3D and neat atmosphere/design. Here's my thumb!
Some cool stuff in there
Awesome 3D, really enjoyed it at the party.
What britelite said - I kept hoping for some neat design touches while I was watching. Thumb up for the really nice code though.
Try doing this on your standard 1200 tho :D (style is a matter of taste)
This demo has a cool soundtrack and a something. I agree it is a bit lengthy but some parts are nice.
I like it!
I like it!
nerve: with a 030 in the standard A1200 it might very well be possible ;)
It makes great impression.
This is a very nice demo. Impressive code and effects, great music. Not bothered by the design. Good beat, music sync, developing well executed FX — does it for me. Consider: this is a '92 machine.
britelite: a 16Mhz 030? :P
nerve: yeah, didn't say anything about the framerate though ;)
britelite: and why is that? ;)
nerve: because I can't judge the framerate from the youtube-video (and because I haven't got a 16MHz 030 in any Amiga to try either)
No thumb from me?
Very good stuff coding wise - I agree that the design and music could do with more spicing up. Still, thumb for the code!

britelite, you do have a Falcon to test on tho :D
really tasteful design in that demo. the transitions of the parts just rock, music is excellent. and that fluid physics box even blurrs 8D
rewatched and very impressed.
rewatched and very impressed.
Nice demo!
Yep
A bit late but here is my thumb up :) ..
Of course this demo roxxx!!!
Absolutely great! Remember how impressed I was (and still am) with this demo when it was released! Awesome code!
brilliant demo. cool music. lots of great touches and ideas.
Great! Reminds me some old TV logos. Didn't think that blank background design can be so entertaining.
Missed this one. So late thumb from me. Unbelieveable 3D and gaussian-blur on a stock Falcon 030. Looks like some Voodoo magic on the DSP.
Good one!
Ah, yes. It's _excellent_.
Still a fantastic demo to look at nowadays.
Great code, great music
Great code, great music
Still the best!
nice
Like it alot!
Exquisite! Finesse, souplesse, and a nicely tuned soundtrack to go with it. This is easily one of the top Falcon demos.
oh this is good!
great
Nice DSP coding and the bee, just saw this for the first time on the Deadline Berlin 2023 stream

505's soundtrack is techno with just a drop of industrial and match the visuals in every respect.
overall the demo is shorter than hhhmm but the style and effects are more varied. i love this one! :))
