It's tough to say what exactly seperates average prods from good prods.. but somehow this fits into the good category, for me.
It was quite enjoyable and the colors were nice, but the music sounded more like a gametune and there weren't much stuff so no thumb.

I think the writer was "stolen" from CFXweb. You should at least greet/give some credit to Pan/SK when using his code!

rainmaker: UC is mostly a fun party with fast-made fun/fake releases, and definitely not the place for took-10-months-to-finish-mega-productions.

Come on :-) I haven uses pans source. I just liked the nice idea... put some noise texture with tex-gen on and render a half dozen times... for some hours of partycoding, this is okay.
Btw, in an old AMOS-Basic program I had a spinning cube... so credit me, if you use cubes too :-)

a font renderer like that is coded in no time.. its like 4 lines of code to make text output with GDI and to map it to a dib lets say 15-20 and then you have it in sysmem, some blur and such on that then add random scaling when rendering.. we might be up in 50-70 lines of code with init+rendering with a decent overlay on d3d/opengl...

Maybe a font renderer like that can be "coded in no time". Sounds only a bit suspicious when it clearly looks like another one which was never used before MekkaSymposium2k2, whose sources have been released some weeks ago...
if you release something to public then why care if someone takes it? i mean.. whats the point of releasing something if noone can be able to use it or just steal the idea? i mean, who hasnt stolen a n idea or an entire UV - precalc ? ;-)
The point is, if you release sources then yes you want to share your ideas with others. But only poor people use your ideas (and source, even if slightly modified) without GREEEEEETING you. It's fairplay. You have it, or you have not.

Apart from that big parts of the intro have been coded at the party and you may consider it a funproduction for a party which has been dedicated to just that so please stop your angry whining now and do something meaningful.
