The link delivers a "party version" uploaded from Maximum Overdose party. It's just missing an endpic... so... I'll fix that soonish.

Woop! Nice interface, nice music, interesting articles - fulfills all the requirements of today's Amiga diskmag and more.
AAAMMIIIGGGAAA!! :)
Nice to see an amiga diskmag again..
I missed more '1 on 1' interviews btw
respect for releasing this!

Cool. Wish you wouldn't merge with CnS as I like JP's current release rate and contents as they are...
Sexy
nice tunes! - great to se an amiga prod!
Great issue! Very nice to read. I like the tunes and the interface too (but code seems a bit buggy sometimes)
Cool to read new JP stuff.
@Ghandy
ArtWay party has nothin' to do with hungary or hungarian amiga scene ,) Well it was an older article so you maybe know more `bout that now ;)

@ Wayne: Oh, I just checked that, thanks for the info.
@Xeron: Well, we don't have enough active staff members for two diskmags. But the main problem is the extreme small Amiga community and not the supporters.

great stuff!!!
rocks
thx to keops for fixing the screenshot!
@ghandy
The size of the amiga community in general is not the problem, its the size of group within the amiga community interested in an amiga scene diskmag.

ghandy roxxx!
I've always loved Jurassic Pack, but this was a very poor issue I'm afraid to say. Nothing really interesting here.
beat dead horse more plz "An original picture
looked at by Browallia" .. well i guess it was fine issue, bit dull. at least helluva better than HUGI

You can read all articles also online - right here:

I like it. No need for more than ~10 articles per issue though. The short story by Browallia was great XD. Collabaration with CnS is probably a good idea unless you only start fighting over how stuff should be as Selectanovel said in one of the articles. Compact flash on Amiga was pretty cool. Also I liked the book reviews and the Micro Music article. The interview with Andromeda was also interesting.
Hey, cool - this time I read more than 4 articles completely! =)
More interesting articles for me as the issues before. The graphics especially panels are looking great --- well beside the endpic (white letters on black screen).
Thanks for writing and managing the whole thing Selecta!
I'm looking forward for Jurassic Cows'n'Packs.. x)

Nice to see a new issue of JP!

That would only make JP worse.

if you have problems due too low chipmem try to set the "gfx in fastmem" flag and remove the "music" flag in the jp-prefs program

Fixed the link and here goes my thumb for another good issue. Keep it up!
uns3en: what do you mean? if you paid too much attention to the sceenshoots JP staff included, or thought the article was for cheering the no-copy page I supported in the 90s, then you didn't understand much.
Today's graphicians are using more clever tricks, all disguised in the anonymous internet-LOL-picture you will never discover. By writing an article you are not always aiming for the fresh scope, sometimes you want to open a discusson, a debate.
Moods ^ Scarab: congrats with the issue!

Thanks for the online version! I've read some interesting articles, will keep on reading more :)
Really nice Articles, enjoyed the andromeda one most.. and Online versions rocks ;)
Incredibale issuuue !
I Enjoyed the Andromeda interview and I am just too much happy reading novel's notes about the karate demo he did. I really need to express some details here that are very important to me:
I'm completely happy to have some "return" advice from a user. Yes, it's true, some more powerfull and simple 2D effects are lacking ! on the other hand, the whole 3D engine is really something near to a full "opengl", (with the sub-windowing things, plus a scenegraph (world with objects)). I've tried to restitute geometrically the current "3D state of the art" with this engine (even with some shaders in it), as it is supple enough to do anything, and i've tried to make it an introduction to these mathematics for the newbees (sinus movements, 3D projections, space matrixes). That's what demoscene is for: stealin the mathemetics to make art with !!
Great ! you should visit the ada forum to meet the elite ! Be aware that the whole karate sources are also available. karate use chunky screens, and does 256 colors pixel writting. the effects stands in separate plugins, also opensource. Notice it is also possible to code your own new effects in your special plugin, and access them in the scripts !

The more I read and worked through the tutorial, the more "advanced" the technique became. At the beginning I wanted to rule out 3D-effects due to speed-reasons and lamishness. But when it turned out that an animation could only be played when using a camera which would automatically turn this into a three-d sequence, I had to understand the way it worked.

I was scared of anything that was just remotely related to maths and thus never thought I would get interested in coding.
After some lectures at university, where I eventually learned and understood what sinewaves and imaginary numbers are (it was business cycle theory, in case you want to know), this fear has turned into curiosity. With Karatescript, I was enabled to learn and understand effects by carefully reading the tutorial and doing the trial and error.
And that worked! [...]I want to try real coding now.

Hey Krabob,
cool to get your feedback this way. I tried to contact you via the mankind homepage but I couldn't find any contact possiblities there, not on Eurochart.dk or diskmag.de either. Thanks! I think I go through the rest of the karate tutorials some time, even though my fingers are really itchy to try this ASM tutorial I talked about in the article.
Did you read the article online?
I want to put some things straight here about that.
The online issue is 100% supported by me now.
There was a thing I didn't agree upon with Ghandy and you might have read about this somewhere. I got extremely mad at him. It was some tiny little shit, but I overreacted by putting this fight online. I am extremely sorry for that now. I still have my point of view on that issue and Ghandy still doesn't share it, but putting that up online was just stupid of me.
Now Ghandy is mad at me and it looks like he's never gonna talk to me again. I understand that. I just want to tell you that I support all of Ghandy's work and that without him, Jurassic Pack wouldn't exist as it does. To all those people calling him a "Vollspacken" (see breakpoint discussion), well, fuck you. He added more to the Amigascene than you will ever do.
Probably this is just an emotional overreaction again, but I don't know how to put this straight otherwise. All I can say is, respect each other's work, whishes and opinions, don't troll online and simply support the Amiga scene together.

Just to answer: I actually ran my UAE here and watched the amiga exec. Well, I don't read the shoutings between people , I think even when you're "mad at", this doesn't mean much at the end. (and I can't just count how many stories like that there are.) I'm usually not a great mag reader, but I agree that ghandy is right to contact a lot of people all the times...
...and you can contact me with: victorien *dot ferry *at free *dot fr
Yet again a solid mag release with an easily comprehensible amount of articles, which is the way I prefer. Suitable tunes to listen make the whole thing round. Due to membership here is the neutral
@novel:
At Evoke this year I'll provide you with the necessary tools and startups you might need for peeking into ASM :)

ok content. must admit though i would not have bothered to run my UAE for it. so thumbs up for giving me the choice between fast content access and enjoyable reading when i find the time
Good issue, good amount of articles and some of them (especially the Andromeda one) are real gems. The merge with CnS is interesting, I do (as you state in the mag) hope that you will keep the engine and the design from JP as it's miles better looking and more pleasant to use than CnS. The articles are CnS strong point but they would really benefit from better presentation so hopefully a merge would be beneficial for both parties. Good luck.
thumbs up for this one, JP still alive, hopefully we can manage to keep it this way...
Thanks, Stingray!
Excellent work, respect \o
