I found this one when going through an old HD of mine. It's an intro submitted to a 96k QB compo at QBasic.com last year.
For being QB, even with libs, and considering that it was "made in a hurry" acccording to the readme, I think both the GFX and the music are ok'ish. Thump for the effort.

Hey, cool to see this added here. It surprised me when I ran it from windows and could hear sb sound. Before that I thought it's not possible to get some mod playing from a dos Qbasic demo under Windows (sometimes it's even hard to make the qb mod players working well in DOS), but with the specific player it just happens. At the time, it made me hot, thinking about making a new quickbasic demo (apparently no meaning) with the hope it can now play sound even in windows. Cool cool!

The trick is DirectQB, a QB lib that interfaces DirectX.

I am not sure if it is DirectQB. Iirc DQB is just a qbasic library that has nothing to do with DirectX rather than just the name copy. Though I haven't checked the lib itself and maybe I am wrong. I know that the music uses the BWSB (Bells&Whistles) and that's the player which does it for some reason.

Has quite some problems replaying Paso's nice chiptune ("pleasure to paso") on my machine. Nothing really special here but good enough for a QB intro.

Indeed, DirectQB had nothing to do with DirectX. It was a QB library of graphics/sound(/input?) routines written in x86 assembly (by Enhanced Creations iirc). I know that I played around with it and another similar library called Dash in the late 90s.

QB!! \o/ Reminds me of the times when I was messing with that stuff. Gave me a big fat BSOD when attempting to run it from within WinXP, but sort of worked in DOSBox.. damn slow though, I don't know if it's supposed to be that slow.
