Great stuff in all aspects! It is definitely the best music disk I have seen so far (ok, ok I tried only 4 or so in this century …). It looked as if they wanted to do something against the pretty poor fun factor and design experience of other music disks – and they succeeded! Thumb Up! (Btw: even if I liked it really much – after about the 2-3 tune I switched back to the music disk – it does not repaint the front end, and a few seconds later the whole machine crashed and restarted ?!)

I have tears in my eyes. This one goes back to the roots when music disks didn't only look like WinAmp. Reminds me on Memorial Songs and stuff like that. Great music, great artwork and design and cool effects. Excellent work!

Best chipdisk I have "seen" ever Pasy/H2o. Its great to have music besides chiptunes too. So much great Timbaland source material... I mean tunes, here, its hard to chose - but my favourite is likely hugme.

las: if you really want a song, just use the bruteway! while the musicdisk is playing that song, dump the memory of its process with winhex for example ; then you can use extractor to extract it easily from the dump file ; to know which format file (ogg, mp3, it, xm) to choose, just look in the dump file for the full names of the song files.
This is kinda hardcore but easy :)

Very nice graphics, cool intro part and great tunes. Yet, I don't really like the interface, it sure looks beautiful but I find it highly annoying that I can't directly select the tunes! This is basic functionality that should be part of every music disk. Why displaying the list of tunes when I can't select anything? And don't tell me this is hard to code. ;) I also find it extremely annoying that the window is on top all the time. Other than that, very cool music disk, the tunes are excellent.
rulez added on the 2007-05-12 01:28:29 by StingRay StingRay
Interface has it´s own logic, but I second Stingray; it´s just too impractical.
The Endpart is really nice.
Yeah, this is a lil´bit too clean for my taste...
Great! Tunes!
Design remembered me a bit of Andromeda. .
rulez added on the 2007-05-12 02:09:53 by gentleman gentleman
To make it short, this disc is great. Yes it is, because of the nice decent design, the perfect fitted grafix and coding (all three support the idea of a music disc very well by not taking the spotlight away from the tracks) and upfront of course, the music. I like the idea of the 3 sections which should present at least something anyone can enjoy. I would have liked a "random play" function and a possibility to display the tracklist permanently, but that are really only minor flaws.

My favourite track is "Komm oh Tod du Schlafes Bruder" That may result from the fact that i very often heared it in its developing process and began to like it inits very early stages.
Other personal pearls are : Dawn, The Outro Tune, Lightcube, jump n bounce, rebellion-reprise, warp9.
Dalezy and Virgill seem to be a bit underrepresentated (or lazy?), thats why i probably kick Virgills ass next time i meet him (maybe already today ;) ). Unfortunately his greeting in the disc was so nice, that i will have a really bad conscience afterwards, hehe.
A last word to chromag. I really must admit, i underestimated his tracks. He shows a great overall talent in all three categories. Respect!

Let me sum it up: Its worth the download and i promise, you will listen to it more than just once. So do i.

Keeping up the Rebels name is always going to be a huge task! This production gives me mixed feelings - the intro to the music disk is very nice and well constructed, the music is fantastic especially the music from chromag.. however on a down side the main screen seems cluttered and non-user friendly with below average presentation.. the thumb is for the music and intro.. if the main part design and graphics were better this could have been fantastic!

OSX port \o/

Works near-perfectly on my aged G4 866 - just a few poly edges flicker in the intro where they shouldn't, the end part only shows the logo and a big white area, and the VU meters didn't seem to work for a while, but then they worked fine.

No thumb because I already thumbed this up, so consider the next thumb up to be for the mac port.
added on the 2007-05-21 17:05:22 by psonice psonice
Finally I get a minute to thumb this sucker up. :) Pasy, H20, and most importantly, you musician dudes, Virgill, Chromag, NE7 and Dalezy, I can only second all the people before who said it rocks, because it does. Absolutely wonderful tunes, particularly in the Streamed and Tracked sections. This is the way musicdisks are meant to be, and I wish more musicdisks would get this kind of attention and treatment. Awesome visuals and spot-on code as well as the ports, improvements (patch) and general user-friendliness add to the fact that this is probably the best musicdisk in years. And yes, we hate you for that. :-) Also, this is the level of quality we had hoped to see from Rebels since we heard from their regrouping. Finally, this is proof that Rebels can do well if they want to. Keep going, boys. It feels great to have you back around the block.

chromag: the interface is well coded, the graphics are great, the tunes are fine and cool but... there is no additional value to a musicdisk released 10 or 5 or 2 years ago. just more of the same. i respect your efforts on keep releasing quality stuff but i cant thumb up something that promotes more of the same yet again. atleast i refrained from thumbing it down in respect for the effort it took you guys to make it. a respect that you or pasy for example never showed me in return. you're a nice guy and i like your tunes but i dont give thumbs based on the names of who made it. i give them based on if i'd like to watch it again or not. and in this case, i doubt i will ever watch this again unless its to show a random someone a decent musicdisk working on a mac. sorry if it might sound offensive, i'll buy you a beer next party.

This joint kicks butt!!! I like the distinction into three categories, but first and foremost it switches back (nice chiptune btw) to the g'days far back. Personally, big props go to "Chromge" and one of the vip-people who visited the "Trosse" (finest disco-club ever in a distant past, now burnt down) somewhere around m*sum ;). Nice work...will listen to it continually.
