Probably one of the five best demos i've ever seen. Popsy Team roulaize!
that demo really kick my aaaaaaaass babe ! =)
for me... is one of da best party invitations.. but i can't see good the use of comercial mp3.. :(
This demo use Commercial MP3, Like State of Mind and Shad 2... IMHO, this demo is one of the best I've ever seen.
One of the best things of the demo is the muzik, but is a commercial mp3 :|
Oh God, it's soooo wonderful! The only problem is the commercial mp3 :( Otherwise it's the best demo I have seen for a long time
yeah! I love this demo. The best production a see this year.
One of the best accelerated demos i have ever seen. The music is comercial, but it fits very well with the demo style.
One of my favourite demo ! The 3d scene+effects really kick my ass, and with that great music... hmmm *yummy* download it nooooooow !
Really great job, no more to say. Just watch it.
c'est du poser de tout facon
Together with last sunflower demos -wonder and tesla-, VIP2 is one of the best 3D accelerated prods made till now. It not only uses your 3D card to play pre-made scenes, but also pushes it to its limits showing more things than boring 3D cam-flying-around stuff. Really nice effects, good transitions and very dynamic.
On the negative side we have the commercial mp3 (Resurrection/Fear Factory) they used as soundtrack and some models which were ripped from Poser.
Hope to see another Popsy team demo soon, with those original ideas we see not too often and they showed us they can do. And -sorry guys :) - with an original sound track.
Despite everything, its doubtless a must-see.

One 3D accel demo that isn't only a 3D player!!! Original ideas, great fx, and professional result... the best demo of this year.
it RAWKS!@#
See it or die ;>
hehe LOVE the music, it really creates the right mood for this ultra cool demo, great job popsy.
Next time use ur own stuff aight?! ;D

Rhaaaaaaaa it's incredible !!:)
the autors of this thing are sucking their own ass like mother fucking bitches
A very nice invitation, the visual presentation is splendid, the music is good too (is it really popsy made?! =) hehehe. Overall one of my favourites!
Really great invitation intro.. Whould have been even greater if popsy had made their own models and music :)
But what the heck, it still rules :D

POSER+MP3+POSER+MP3+POSER+MP3+POSER+MP3+POSER+MP3+POSER+MP3=winner of Takeover! yeah!
This is a really good demo, one of the best i ever seen.
3D engine work good, 3d scene are nice.
A lot of people say the use of commercial mp3 is bad, but when a mp3 is the good mp3 for a demo, it is better to use it.
Imagine this demo with another mp3, i don't think she will be besser.
ps: i'm not good in english, really not :)

moi je dis heureusement ke j'etais pas a la TO sinon j'aurais fais une crise d'epilepsie en voyant l'oeil ki se tord et les traits vert et cyan...
pouët.net is now hosting the final version of the VIP 2.
let's waste some more expensive bandwidth =)

Why it is so beautiful? Ask Sigi Freud! He knows answer.
moi g eu plein de sexe a la TO avec cette demo. Je racontais aux hollandaises ke c t moi qui l'avait faite.

Hehe! What a popularity! I think I will have to vote for this babe too :)
Although I don't have a 3dcard in my card so I watched it only few times in my friends computer..

I wait for the VIP 3, how can you do better than that powerfull demo !
How can anybody complain about the music? Oh come on. This demo was made for that tune... and not the other way around. It´s not far away from beeing brilliant. I especially love the end which looks damn cool. A MUST SEE for every demo-fan!!!
This demo has a potencial to make a huge impression on audience. The way it starts, progresses and grades. No matter MP3 is not original (even though IMHO if Popsy team handled THIS they would handle original soundtrack too), the substantial is that it's free and piece of demoscene. It's a real experience, it's really hot shit ;]
very great impressive code, but too fast modeling (poser) and no musician (commercial)... a good promise for the future, but will they continue ?
best intro invit ever made
kicks aaaaaaaaaass so hard i hurt... please never do such a good demo again...
Ok, the French scene can code, and they can draw, but they just can't seem to make their own music, can they? :)
I have watched it again in my friends computer! Hey, man this thing definitelly rules!!!
Code&Design&Everything!!!
It's like a videoclip.. (State of Mindish...)
Code&Design&Everything!!!

While all other demos and intros have been burned off onto a CDR, this one stayed on my HD with a few others. ;)
The first day that I seen this invitro, I watched it at least 10 times, and every time it looked better and sounded harder!.

stop complaining about ripped music. the 81% popularity rate at this point can't be lying: it's pure dope.
What I want to know: Is it legal to use a commercial mp3 in a production?
I'd guess it is as long as no profit was made; so if it was a compo entry, that would be illegal.
But this was an advertisement, so couldn't money made from the party be considered in this...?
Or is the party not-for-profit? Does it matter either way, since money changed hands...?
It's an _incredible demo_ either way... good graphics, terrific design and coding... (love the smile at the end the best)

Dont be so fucking small minded. Even a sub-culture like the PC-demo-scene should be able to tolerate some "Commercial" music if the whole production is made around it. Its beurtiful, its well done, and most important it has a good thought behind it. Don't you see that the whole production is inspired by the song. It circles around it. It should be the visiual AND audial exprience that decides if the demos is great or not no matter if the music is "original" or ripped. These guys have put alot of work into this becuase they obviously got inspired by the song. And the demo is GREAT.. thats all that should matter ....
It's as simple as this. 1) The french scene will defend any french production, no matter what. 2) The french scene doesn't care what's original or ripped, just the end product. 3) This is a french site. So, you figure out the 80% popularity rate. :) Trust me, if this weren't a french site or demo, things would be different. And don't forget, people arguing about also make it more popular!
Regarding the legality, well, the scene has never been very righteous about things (it all started from cracktros, remember?). But, we won't be able to include VIP2 (or State of Mind) on our DemoDVD, I'm sure.
Oh and btw, the music is not all that - pretty cheezy if you ask me. :)

well I don't agree with you, pouët.net is made by french people so...
the popularity system is what it is (check the faq) but it's not faked...
the only fake I got in this system was done by german people.
it's true that there are many french prods in this website, but maybe it is because there are many sceners in france too...
the website is in english and it's nowhere mentioned the word <i>french</i> or <i>france</i> so don't use this argument please.
France killed d4 scene =)

what can i say. (great demo).
nice
the music suck ass and ruins the demo
well remember, it was just an *INVITATION* and...
i'm really bored by people flaming something instead of doing better...
another funny thing was the critics about poser and so on... well nobody criticized haujobb for doing a such thing (in "strange feelings", but they didn't write it in the .nfo... so you couldn't know... sorry), why nobody criticized nooon, psychic link, and the majority of your fucking gods using 3ds default meshes (remember the duck and the face...???).
i remember that the 3rd ranked entry at raytrace compo at the TO2k was pure poser... but nobody saw it it wasn't written in the .nfo...
nobody criticize calodox using a lot of vids and photos in their (our) demos...
can you tell me WHY???
are you just ass lickers?
why are there so much critics about this INVIT on the net and why it was the most applaused demo at the projection at the mekka 2k+1 (i was present) and game developper conference (some guys of gamesquad were there)???
for the music... well at the beginning we forgot to put the fear factory credit (we also forgot to enable the replay...) we just had the time to re-enable the music before the dead-line...
for the commercial music... could you find a scene musician doing an equivalent thing in 2 month?
ah... i heard that B-state is now on Warp records label...
so what's the difference?
all you can do by praying about your "scene commandments" or flaming everything because it doesn't fit with your conception of "what must be a demo" is what you call "kill the scene".
remember... the scene has never been as alive as now, it's just evolving to something approaching art... it is no more a tech-only affair... may be you're a nerd and for you it is disapointing... so just code your 4k in your corner on your c64 and leave us doing what we want to...
why doing this difference between countries? you should go to the international corner in parties... it would be good for your mind.
ok... just talkin' your language... "F.R.E.E. Y.O.U.R. M.I.N.D."
(sorry it's a rip)
ah... i don't have anything against the groups i mentionned:)

what made me getting angry was those guys who don't do anything but flaming everything...
other thing disappointed me was the subject of the critics... i didn't see anywhere an artistic point of view about that thing... just a nerd point of view...
if you want to make art... then change your mind...
look at www.3dartreview.com to see what i mean by an artistic point of view (ok, the guy of this site is gone a bit too far...:)
anyway you can dislike the music... it's not my favourite one;)

I must vote for it =)
a great demo, fantastic visuals, nice music... nothing more to say really.
bottom line is: don't give so much attention to insignificant details like wether the music is ripped or not, if it fits and is good, then they did the right thing to use it because it enhances the overral expirience.

Wow! One of the best I'v ever seen! My vote goes to this one!!
although both the music and some of the 3d models are ripped from various places, this demo manages to create an incredible atmosphere. the music is quite bad in the beginning in my opinion, but picks up after the credits.
this one would kick virually all s2pid videoclips in MTV hard, too :]
music sucks and lacks originality.quite ok demo for pc though... :)
There goes my hand, again :)
One year, and still the best accelerated demo ever (IMHO).
Greatest!
....more of these cool prds!!
not too demoscenish cliches but such anyway. ok for an experiment..
another time, popsy team rocks...
all of the demo rulez!
thanks for it.

commercial music ? or poser modeling ? or what ? evolution is here.
forget your stupid code/gfx/music competition.
just create beautiful things.

STICK YOUR FUCKING FRENCH UP YOUR ARSE! BE POLITE AND WRITE IN ENGLISH!
Focus on a new demo ? You mean comments are useless ? :))
Alright, this is an old demo (but still the best), so I had to leave a 'thumbs up'-comment.
It just has a 'flow' that is unmatched. Especially those Poser-object scenes fit just perfectly with the music at that part.

macaw: STICK YOUR MANNERS UP YOUR ARSE! BE POLITE AND LEARN TO DEAL WITH PEOPLE! You should really get a life, being so disappointed because you cannot read the latest all brand new comment on pouet.net sounds really alarming to me! next time you'll try amikai.com first, asshole.

x: go play in interstate traffic or something. it's not as if *your* karma is all that swell.

Good design. The subject of originality is so worn I won't even go into that.
There's a lot of demos with ripped content, but this is one of the few that gets away with it for being an overall cool demo.

well. maybe a thumbs down is too harsh, but I can't stand the music, and while I generally enjoy cheesy sentimentality, this has some elements that are too much even for me...
NO way, that this demo's popularity is 99%, you french ppl. cheat like the germans with Schumacher in Formula-1.
+baaaaaaaaah... now 100% i told you stupid system -, not +!!!
PPL. FORGET THIS CRAP. :)

its pretty true tho.. french people dominates this site.
Quite corny/heroic atmos but nice code.

solid and entertaining demo. overall it's great even if (sadly) it used commercial music. however this is still a must-see prod. nice work!
Absolutely fantastic.
The best demo I've seen since a very long time.
And about people complaining about the music or the models: If this demo was made by Dreamworks itself, it would still kick major ass! :-)

Very Very Good. This demo is amazing. The music is great, the design is cool, the whole production rocks. Thumbs up of course
The 99% popularity might be a little over the top, but this is a kicker nonetheless. The french always had a knack for ruling dzign - good to see it live on.
And as for music, Popsy could've asked men like Stephane Picq (Cryo) or Raphael Gesqa (Delphine) for a little contribution... that would've settled many of the (unnecessary) debates in here :).

to x, i think you're acting pathetic. attacking on personal level should be below any of the comments here on pouet. as said before, it's not very polite to write in german/french/polish/danish/whatever your maiden-language might be when everyone else is writing in english.
Mhmm, I saw it for the first time on a local party on the big screen a few days ago. So, I'm a bit late with my comment here... :)
The music might be ripped, but the overall experience is great. I would say it's THE new school demo. There are not much demos around with a compareable impact.
However, 99% popularity seems not to reflect the opinions correctly. ;)

(vip2) - (ripped sound)- (ripped objects) = great demo.
I don't understand why people only see the MP3 and Poser thingies.
The code is very good, the visuals are great, the models, well, after all, Poser is a modeller program, so why not use it's models? :)
And as for the music... I think even Fear Factory would appreciate this demo, because the synch is great, the atmosphere fits, and it just _feels_ good to watch it.
And it's "just" an invitation :)

what are the hardware requirements for this demo? i tried to run it on 3 different machines and it doesnt work
la vip2 est une arme du systeme pour nous maintenir sous CONTROLE ! rebellion !!!
no comment.
Popsy Team don't have an official musician.....
well, yes !!!! me if i remenber.... =)
well, yes !!!! me if i remenber.... =)
Ahh... VIP2... still my Nr. 1 demo of all times, including my active time on the Amiga back in the 80s.
Don't ask me why, but this is one of the very rare EMOTIONAL demos. That's what i call it when you actually FEEL something during watching a demo, especially in that scene with the woman and the man. I also think that the music fits perfectly well to this peace of art.
Btw, this demo returned my interest in scene after more than 10 years. It's great to see that the scene is still alive, although it has to be said that it has completly changed. Anyone of you knowing the "good-old-days" sure knows what i mean. But that's not the topic...
Congratulations to PopsyTeam for this GREAT demo!

Just 2 vote 4 this babe!
The boring parts are before and after this demo :)
THis is great stuff. In normal times, I wouldnt really listen to this kind of music, but here it fits the demo perfectly and sets a really nice ambience. GOod job guys!
Kool, next time try with Christ Agony
a very good demo, with pretty romantic scenes (the petals) and fast paced music ...
don't care about poser, ripped mp3 and all those things ... just enjoy with lourd speakers :)

First of all: Ripping music sucks.
And this is no "nerd" point of view, that's for the most part that i still have this small fate in the fact that demo sceners are CREATIVE and do things THEMSELVES. Gosh, if you were out for the ultimate artistic experience, you'd used XSI and AfterEffects and released it as DivX. This way, the frame rate would be even higher.
If asking a scene musician if he can do a Fear Factory-alike track in two mmonths results in slightly lesser music quality, that's completely ok. The demo may be only place 5 instad of 3 and may only have 95% popularity instead of 99%, but the fact that it's YOUR demo and not that of SOMEONE ELSE (if Fear Factory's music label ever chose to sue your ass off, they would definitely succeed, as the wonderful tight integration of music and visuals make every "fair use" discussion quite senseless). Fact is, you distibuted a commercial track all over the net (and placed it on many uncommercial and otherwise legal FTP sites) without any consent from the copyright owners. Any i know, Fear Factory will most certainly rather profit from this than lose anything, but you could've at least ASKED. Or give credits. Or anything.
So next time, go to the musician of your choice, get some good guitarists and do it yourself. It will definitely feel better. For you, for the musician, for the scene and for all the bands that you didn't rip off.
The reason why i give a "thumbs up" in spite of this rant is simply that i love this demo.

The reason why i give a "thumbs up" in spite of this rant is simply that i love this demo.
if you're gonna rip music, at least rip something good?
blah. i've said it before, and i say it again:
frenchies can't make demos.

Wow. Sweet demo.
Personally, I didn't like the poser models when they were dancing or whatever, though the one in the water was good.
All in all, one of the best I have ever seen. Great job.

Ahh, crud, I just made it go from 99% to 100% popularity...
Methinks the popularity indicator code needs to be rewritten.

YOU've added a positive comment on a French prod WITH a ripped music (I let you search which one :)
anyway, this one works for me.

About the music: I heard people who actually bought the Obsolete album (the one with Resurrection on it), _just because_ he heard this song in VIP2, and decided to try more Fear Factory stuff.
Now tell me about promotion :)

Wow!
It has some really nice particle effects, and fun with splines...
But commercial music in a demo is just lame. IMHO

Almost too good to be true...
Mah I didn't like it much.
looks lovely.

Umm, yeah! :-)
Nothing inovative, yet the presentation and the speed are absolutely flawless.
The music is pretty dreadful however. If you're going to rip music, why not rip something worth listening to?
Still, a very good (if slightly overrated) demo.

The music is actually pretty sweet, but there's no accounting for taste.
Exact sagacity, the taste is of the person who listens to judge.. I think that its nice to hear something new in Demos than the stdinclude demo music Umpti Umpti...
says the guy who's in a group who ripped off a crystalmethod track.
poser + ripoff is bad
one of the most over-rated demos ever in my opinion. well, its good but its definitly not the best as some people seems to think. i say they need to watch more demos.
Even my friend who haven't anything to do with the scene like it, so it must be good =)
It means nothing, I have some friends who like Britney Spears, this doesn't mean Bitchy Spears is good. A good demo, but a lot overrated IMHO.
The thing I most appreciate in this demo is the time spending on designing synch.

I still consider this to be one of the finest productions around.

Honestly, I don't know why this demo has been criticized so much. Big deal, the music is from Fear Factory, but they have never denied that, and they have mentioned it in the proper credits. I don't think a ripper would do that. And how come using Poser is lame? I just don't get that.
I'm not a scener myself but I have studied design, and I think this demo is pretty amazing. Visuals & synch are neat, music fits perfectly, and overall it's a memorable visual experience.
Another thing I just can't understand: how come many people have diminished this demo's qualities because it was made by french people? Isn't that just plain stupid?
Kudos to Popsy Team for creating this excellent demo.

lots of months after, i changed my opinion
the more i see it, the more i like it !
so, no cares about poser!
because poser is a tool like 3ds, in ancient times you was lamer because using commercial modeler instead of coding yourself a mesh editor ... so, use any tools you want, only final emotions count!!!
hope lots of sceners will do good artwork in the future years, and hope PopsyTeam is not a 'retired' group !

Certain scenes in this really stand out, most notably the
petal scene at the end, which is just inspired. Why? First
of all it goes so well with the music, secondly, its well
synced, thirdly, it takes two
effects, the petal particles and the rain and integrates
them with a 3D scene rather
than just using 3D as a flyby, and fourthly its just
beautifully concieved. A lot
of demos are industrial/techonology themed or abstract and with Fear
Factory on the soundtrack it would have been more obvious
to do that, but they didnt.
Mind you that said, about 3/4 of this demo is also of really
high quality IMHO. Love it.

I just loooove this demo, the only thing about it is the music which is commercial, but I guess you have build up some of the things from the idea's you got from the music, so if it wasn't this music the demo would propably not be cool as it is ...
This was the first demo i looked on here... a friend of mine itroduced me to this wonderful page!

Wow. Syncronised perfectly to an MP3? That just rules, heh...
Ripping music sucks, but otherwise this got to be the best OpenGL demo ever.
Can`t enjoy this production, with such a bad choice of music. Whether it`s ripped or not, the choice really ruined my overall view of this production.
i fall in love with that prod the first time i've seen it!
ok ok visuals rulez........
but music... comeon what's that!
but music... comeon what's that!
this is the best accelerated demo i've seen
As in State Of Mind by Bomb, the ripped rock music gives this demo a very high level of flow & energy. But as good as a prod can be, i would consider as a definitive insult if my group had used a commercial track instead of mine. Who can compete with a major-signed band ? Please wake up :(
i heard a lot of music done by sceners who can easily compete against "commercial" work. demoscener musicians *can* compete with a major-signed band, i don't see what's so special with a paper (contract) with your name on it. it doesn't change anything to the quality of the work. they decided to use music from a known group, its their choice. the demo would have been great even with another song (as long as the timing is as good as in this one) please wake p will-b :)
well... know any rock scenemusicians around ?

blah blah blah blah ...
wonderfully nice looking demo.
just spoiled by coders music tastes..
and yeah there are no musicians in the scene who make commercial rock which can sound that professional. so you wanted to have such a tune in the demo and you did it. ok that's your choice.. i respect it, but i still don't like the music.
too bad some ppl love only the demo because of the music..
and too bad i don't like vip2, just because i can't stand the music.
oh yeah same again discussion rock vs electronic music, wine vs beer ... how stupid can we be ..
i would give this demo a quantic thumb, up and down at the same time ..

i agree with all of the above
VIP2 is just amazing. Great music (thanks FF), wonderful scenes, no bugs... Popsy Team rules
even if they had used a "rock" song made by a demoscener musician, people would probably still shit on it. every time i hear a song different than the common trance-techno beat, it's usualy kinda good but other people shit on it (well, the same morons who keep whining on everything here) so it's kinda useless to try (ie : the latest virgill's song with vocals on it -- the song rocks but it's not the typical demo-style music).
oh well, maybe someday we'll see more style of music in demos (hiphop, rock, whatever).
this demo definitly rules, the timing is just awesome.

actualy i strongly encourage people to try new music style in their demos :)
METAL GO METAL, this is actually awesome
yep! zelkor's right. anyway, no matter what kind of music is used in a demo. there must be something happening between the demo and the guy watching it. it doesn't only comes from music or graphics or whatever. damn, it's the whole thing that matters.
actually, i strongly encourage people to CREATE the music they'll use in their demos.
i agree with you on this one, will-b: people should create their own music for their demos. however, i stil don't understand this opposition to commercial music; some tracks would simply rock with a demo; it could bring something new to the Scene, who knows...
Demos have always been a challenge. To code, to draw pixels, to write music, to imagine something nice. The best, the most incredible we can.
I'm not a scene-purist who will flame graphicians who use photoshop or modelers who use 3DS, but I feel that creation is essential in a demoscene production.
The thing i fear the most, is that every scene newcomer that loves this demo (that is great anyway) would directly choose to include a commercial track too, stating that scene music is not good enough or does not fit to their production.
A great demo does not excuse a bad rip.

i must admit that using "prefab" music, graphics or whatever would surely ruin the quality of the productions. we would prefer quantity to quality, or wouldn't try to understand what the scener wanted to create anymore. this is the opened way to mediocrity. but -i'll try again!- i'm sure that a talented person could deal with commercial or prefab stuff if he's an artistic approach to the thing. but anyway, yes, VIP2 rocks, for sure! :) and after all that's all that matters: having pleasure watching demos. and i DO have pleasure!
oh oh oh , unf unf unf
Who hasn't been heavily inspired while listening to music, commercial or not?
Making a demo with commercial music isn't (atleast not in my eyes) something wrong from a democoding point of view, just another variation in this complex collection of artforms we call the demoscene.
Using commercial music without permission is illegal and can give quite an unfair advantage in a compo. But it's not all about the legals and the compos, now is it? Creativity doesn't have to abide by any rules.
I can't say I feel like commercial music can compete with our beloved demoscene musicians either.

i understand that Cloaked Alien ; on the other hand, graphicians have copied pictures from boris vallejo and many fashion photographers for a long time before the "ripped commercial musics" cases... Not to mention the remakes of commercial games in 4k or 64k.
Demoscene and its ethics, a long long debate ;)

Really nice demo, I expected less from this one, but is really impressive, although the poser 3D models don't fit (from my point of view).
uMuMuMuM!!! I really like this prod....mp3.......mmmmm....anyway This is a great demo and I like much metal music in demos....good work popsy-t
great demo! among the best 5 I've seen
ahmm...its too newskool for me. altho greats visiuals..the music is horrible
no thanks. the music couldn't be any worse
Can't believe i haven't voted for this one yet.
Anyway, what an experience this was at takeover (The demo and the 2 minutes of extreme noise after it was finished. The crowd just went crazy)

Very polished production, lots of energy. Definitely a crowdpleaser, though the [ripped] song is kinda... stupid
After two years, I am now certain that this invitation is the best demo until now. And using FF was just brilliant. Rock music bores me to death if it's not really good. This, however is simply excellent design. In fact, I think that FF should thank Popsy Team for using their track, as VIP2 really makes it sound alot better.
I just wish I could thumb up twice.

good music.... otherwise: bohooring...
Well, I'm not going to say anything new, but I would like to, so ;-). I'd liked this demo a lot, mainly because of very good synchro, woman&man scene and so on. I'm metal fun (you can call me like that ;-) too, but using commercial music in demos?... It sucks like hell. It's just a rip, or "skaaaan!", as heard from Amiga-fans at Gravity. I'm sorry - although the demo itself is very good (maybe: even one of the best I ever saw), I say: fuck the new style. Fuck ripping and saying it's the new "style" of creativity. Quality? Yes, I like quality music, even commercial quality music. But the smell of demoscene for me is 32K XMs, not xMB ripped .mp3s. Sorry.
First of all, this demo rulez =)
Then, u2, ripping is the obscure side of the force ...
Huhu didn'd you say that there may would have been a Vip4 Invit ?

very stylish, very nice. well done.
This would have to be one of my favorite demos of all time. It just gives you that feeling of something great. The synch, music, graphics etc. are great and work so well. Im sure that we can all over look the ripped music for a invite of this quality. It wouldnt be the same without it :)
The music in this demo has very much to say about the feeling of the music. Okey, so they didn't actualy make the music. DOH! But the demo, I feel is, is better at portraing the emotion of the music then FF actualy are. So a thumb of for that. :)
I dont like it.
rockz ! one of my favorites...
so heavy metal, but so g-o-o-d
My God ...... I've seen this demo at least a 100 times by now ....... It's just fantastic .... I'd never think I'd say this, but the music rocks to.... he he actually I loved it so much, that I made a demo for it myself ...
My Respect to Popsy Team

simply the best.
Let's see... RIPPED music. Well, Fear Factory. METAL music... RULES!!! (When a demo with a track from Paradise lost? sinister demo? yeah, please!)
Let's go on... POSER characters. Yeah, another tool... If we have got it, why don't use it? Yeah, well done.
The result: More than 2 years on the scene...... AND STILL RULES!!! Yeah, if you feel a demo, that demo is GREAT, and I REALLY FELT this demo!!!!

ah, forgot to thumb up
it sucks ... because it's basically ripped and there is no innovation, but it's better as the windows demo ME by Microsoft.
this one rocks!! True, not much innovation, but its just great anyway :)
Definitely the best invitro ive ever seen! Perfection.
Fast paced. not boring unlike the vast majority of todays demos
insanely great!
nothing needs to be said..apart from the muzik..hmmm...but fits to a tee..
!!! this was just like bam bam bam! BAM~!
Great design, wonderfully synced with the music, only downside is the ripped music - but I can live with that.
Great prod.
Great prod.
it's fucking best thing i have ever seen! and over 2 years old! i wonder how i haven't seen it before, but no production can beat it! too good as invitation intro.

Hmm what could I say that haven't been already said ? Nothing.
Okay I say nothing so.
Okay I say nothing so.
Its cool, but most of the credit goes ofcourse to Fear Factory. Replace the song with some generic techno/demomusic and this prod becomes much less impressive.

I´m sorry. I simply love this demo. So I have to thumb it up.
sorry to love also this demo. get anger and love on demo. I must have sad and happy in 1!
great atmosphere in this demo.
and i don't know about poser, and as long as popsy was allowed to use the soundtrack, i don't care if it's not their work.
it SOUNDS good, that's what is important.

nice asses ^^
The Demo :)
Not really my style...
I really love it - it's just to bad that the music is ripped.
But what the Hell? The atmosphere is great and the demo rocks.
But what the Hell? The atmosphere is great and the demo rocks.
Thumbs up. One of my favorite ones indeed! And with the charts in mind - Better than fr/candytron (imho)!
weeee
the demo rocks but the music is riped and that's pathetic. just don't tell me there was not a good musician somewhere...
Impressive!
when they ripped the music, couldnt they at least take good music?
this is good music you sucker :)
very good, tho ripped music
Great style, good music, i just felt compelled to watch it again :)
This demos shows being _creative_ by using some (commercial) released type of "art" can result in "art". If the music "industry" would take this as fact, all could profit from that.
We are looking for a artist to build one of this Fr- code to a upcoming Trance, HArd House Album if any one is interested please e-mail was at ecraveh2o@cox.net ...... Thank You.
This baby invaded the top place in my HD. And has been keeping it since.
yeah ;)
Awesome.
Love the petals and the galaxy... and the rain totally rocks too. One of the few demos I actually keep on my HD.
This is really tite.

Very nice. Too bad it's not their own music, since it kicks ass.
boring
excellent!
SImply perfect design. Superb.
First time i saw it today, and what a great demo with a good flow of effects.
music.
one of these demos i show first to friends who arent sceners; before moving them onto the amiga tuffs :) shame its not original music though
fantastic
music
32% popularity today and not in the "pop of the prods" list ? shame :) btw. it is GO(O)D ! :)
very nice, despite the music
neat 3d and we need more metal demos!!!
it's cool i guess
What, no thumb yet? :)
Despite of the music rip, I have to admit that I like it... :)
ripped music. that gives the whole feeling...
Still one of my favourite scene productions - with or without ripped music.
Very very cool...
Ripped music or not, who cares, this demo is perfect!
a classic (even a classic "ripped music" example!)
Lame music rip, lame 3D show, typical >1997 demo :P
atmospheric
excellent, despite the ripped music
great intro. syncronization, woman eye, arabic stuff and VIP2-POPSY ending... but that cubic universe still dominates my nightmares. anyway, one to watch again and again. and sorry to say that, but music rules.
A bit static 3D scenes, but hey, overall it's great. Liked parts of the music.
Superb. Nice tune, loads going on. Well worth a thumbs up!
cassage massif de bassin !
aïe !
boring!
The ripped music makes it. A definitive masterpiece in its day, but it looks horribly dated now. Still a billion thumbs up.
Still massive!
of course

nothing to add on this one except :
Fair showing. The patchwork nature puts me off a bit though and I don't feel it's laid out as well as some real gems. Individually some parts are pretty nice but still lack the kind of quality arrangement I've come to expect from the absolute best.
OMG 6 years already

well, it's vip2. the only demo with ripped music that really puts that music to good use. a (near-)perfect example of flow, pace and direction. a well-earned and time-proven thumb.
Ripped music... :(
hard rocking and unexpected release from the popsy crew!
my first love.
addictive.
unforgettable.
addictive.
unforgettable.
I hate this demo so much you can't belive. It's music makes me want kill my self. It's probably the worst thing I've heard in a demo! EVER!
Apart from the music it's not that bad, but it would have to be so so so much better so it could make up for the music.
There. I said it.

ripped * sucks: oh come on, demos are to be enjoyed, not to be flamed about. a production is judged by the impact on viewers, not by people who believe in certain rules. while being creative is important, it don't have to manifest in everything being 100% original. these demos are being art, not just for nerds, but for ordinary people too. computer art is yet to go mainstream, and productions like this can draw a lot of attention. on the other hand, badmouthing is already at a more than enough level. forget about ripped whatever, sit back and enjoy this great production...
don't forget to give a look on State of Mind, it's awesome, too...
ps.: yes, i DO love original tunes (too)

TrX: It's not because of the music, it's because I have to turn off the sound.
_wheely_ : just try to have a look at www.bleank.com if you want to see current productions of some popsy team members :)

i guess for its day it was quite good. the scenes and some of the special fx are quality but it's a mixed bag.. and i prefer original music. a minimal rulez..

beatiful demo -b
great demo
Tuo, this was one of the first demos I saw. When I got a new computer that had a decent graphics card, this was the first HW-accelerated demo I ran. At the time, it totally blew me away, and was a true inspiration. This demo holds a special place in my heart as it helped introduce me to the scene. It's also the demo that made me discover pouet.net. Life isn't fair. Rest in peace Tuo.
Quite good - a professional music video feel to it.
This demo herald the Scene new generation production.
Good bye assembler and state-of-the-art code, hello creativity and artistic sense...
Remain nevertheless one of the tenth major production of the Scene life along with Second Reality :)))

nice music, fun demo :D
powerful demo ;)
Wow! This rocks! So much stuff going on here - must watch it again.
For some reason, tonite I stubled upon my old Fear Factory CD and just had to listen to "Resurrection" several times. Thanks for doing this demo. Can't explain why I didn't thumb it up earlier. It's fantastic.
Was amazing when i 1st watched it years ago, still is!!!!!!!
Yeps still carries alot of punch, still gorgeous :)
ripping
This simply rules :)
scene poetry sucks, ripped music sucks, but everything else is first class. Great demo.
It is nice, despite ripped music ;]
revive
Never liked this one. Also, ripped music, bad music.
maybe a little bit messy sometimes, and commercial soundtrack (I like it btw) but... so many great great scenes, wow !
Ahh, it sure looks a bit old now, but it's still a pleasure to watch. Great job building this demo around that song, even though I agree not having contacted the author, and neither even having put the credits is sad.
Absolute great stuff, enjoyable and worth looking!
never really liked it, even if it looked really nice for its time
Oh wait...I haven't thumbed this up yet??
Still dig it :)
wow, what awesomeness. Too bad you had to rip the sound track. But it sure is great. You should send a youtube link or whatever to the fearfactory guys. I bet they would like it ;)
Not bad at all.
Nice starting gfx btw!
Nice starting gfx btw!
Damn. Already 10 years old !!!
I've not voted this one yet 8O
Still a great watch.
Classic
One of my alltime favourites!
ripped music or not, this still rulez the shit out of most demos released today in terms of direction and audio-visual correlation.
just as fresh as it was 10 years ago !
just as fresh as it was 10 years ago !
10 years old and still awesome to this day. love the music and car rims that are in it.
One of my all-time favourites!
Nostalgia.
No thumb up already? Fixed.
wow, interesting music
One of my all-time favorites!
VIP2 port in WebGL here
Nice!
excellent shit that!
tnt2 times.
Still one of the best Linux demos.
Still one of my favorites :)
Fantastic demo, no doubt about it!
Nice visuals, but I don't get what the makers saw, or heard in that soundtrack .. I completely dislike the music, be it ripped or not.
A classic!
Belated thumb for synch.
i didn't like it visually. i kinda get what they wanted to convey but it's not there :(
I just want to say after 18 years or so this is a computer art experience that stuck with me. Every now I have to go back and find it to watch , It takes me back in time.
Still roxx!
THE COPYRIGHTS!!!!
btw 20 years ago this looks great
btw 20 years ago this looks great
Well I met some people close to the band few years ago and what I heard about Burton and team.. I'm pretty sure they'd love the outcome and this would hurt them small. Demo is nice and sometimes demo scene is about _fuck_the_rules_ and this is exactly fuck the rules demo!
This felt really cheesy for years but now this demo feels nostalgic for the style of the era.
Made my best friend quit the scene, "I'm done". I hate it and I love it.
ripped music, good visuals.
still rocks!
I still love the last 30 seconds of it.
My favourite PC demo, perhaps ever. It's so classy and tells a story. Can't imagine it's almost 24 years old.
Still getting goose bumps at the petal scene!
