slow as hell and dead ugly robots. but it still deserves a thumb. mostly for the city scene.
some really nice stuff, and some nasty-ass stuff. wellwell, here's for the nice stuff!
music doesn't fit, "story" makes no sense, robots suck.
It was a slideslow on my PC, but the music sounds very good!
a true masterpiece, music, animation, the whole package
ugly (often slow too) visuals, niceish, but cheesy soundtrack. pig it is
very cool. slideshow here too.
respect for what you were trying to do, but what maali said, sorry
Looks great.
I could leave one of these robots parked on the street with the cockpit unlocked and the keys in, and it wouldn't get nicked. Truly the Vauxhall Astras of the mech world...
However, I caught myself enjoying the demo, which felt a lot like a dropship rescue level in Mechwarrior 3... The title also reminded me how cool Terra Nova was, so thumbs up!

Odyssey Part XY... I totally agree with hellf
64k with a story. Thumbup.
nice try, but everything looked so ugly
Nice story.
I really like it! One of the better releases at tum this year.
Payne: additional links added above.

I had one of those - "this is 64k?" moments. Marvellous stuff. Looked great too.
Soso, lot of content, but ugly and dead slow. Music fits in this way ;)
And what exactly is the story trying to say?

Yes, you've certainly watched ANDs productions. Some colors were noticed as coder colors, even from my coder-eye opinion, from what I could see from the average 5 fps slideshow here (Maybe it is my FX5500, it certainly can't be the P4 3.2gHZ that sucks the framerate, is it software rendered? Or do you render all gfx three times or what?). But, the music and overall flow was quite good. So piggy, but I must say that you guys have much potential in the business of demo-art!
The eternal story - decent engine, shitty art (espacially particle shots).
As for performance, I don't think you guys played with tunning it all around, trying to fit into ps1.1 and get acceptable FPS as AND did 3 years ago (which still looks much better than this).
Still UP for amount of work. Keep on doing better.

very goodlooking city.
good one, nice scenes, however music could be better.
dunno.. didnt convince me.. mostly due to the music.. was too.. i dunno.. something close to cheesy..
Damn slow don't understand why !!
the music is good for my hears :)
the music is good for my hears :)
bring nytrik back to you 3d.. not hot i.m.o
Was to childish.. :)
badly, badly misses the touches a good artist/designer would give it that would turn it from something big but often very unattractive into something impressive and enjoyable. there's so many bits that grate but could have been fixed quite easily.
it does appear to run faster than previous brain control releases here, and the music wasnt bad either.

3d models is ugly, no volume in scenes. Slow.
hm. it's too slow, with no real reason to be slow. it's not very pretty, and i can't really understand what the story is supposed to be about. i didn't like the music that much either (too "softsynthie"), but it's not _that bad_ so a piggie. :)
It seems there's a lot of work in this intro, but...
Hell slow, HDR makes no difference (imo), and average visuals & music...

Too ambitious project + probably not enough resources -> mediocre result.
Also, these robots are not exactly cool. I would've considered putting them in considering what kraviz said.
Better next time :)

cool 3D and stuff, that's what i expect!
but the windows speach crap is annoying!
goovy song too!

Doesn't even want to run here (exit after the precalc).
I've seen it on dtv and i think you should forget about realtime synths, it's not for you.

Fucking ace! I laughed my ass off.
Looks like a bastard child of Conspiracy, Jumalauta and Nextempire.
Looks like a bastard child of Conspiracy, Jumalauta and Nextempire.
Really good, but no thumb because it's too slow and there's no reason to justify it.
Hmm... I don't really like the concept behind this demo. However overall gfx is rather high quality besides some ugly textures (polish your texgen guys!). Music as always - beautiful - great job Skyrunner!
...forgot to mention: robots animation is awful :P
this was my favorite PC entry in the 64k compo!
crashes my machine halfway through, but i loves the technik!
exits after precalc without notice...
system config:
Win2k latest (erm ...final) SP + Radeon x600/64MB
Win2k latest (erm ...final) SP + Radeon x600/64MB
looks like there was a lot of effort put into this...but i dont like the sound, the scenes (the concept) and overall the complete demo.
if it would have been a cracktro including a polished version of the cityscene..with a chip, a logo and a scroller i would have screamed "hell yeah".

Almost average. You can do a lot better. And fix the speed problem! :|
pretty ugly and couldn't spot that story... music was nice though
holy shit this was bad. you have done so much better.
4kum4: why, because if it's a cracktro it instantly turns something sub-par into something superb?
Cool one
smash: actually it has nothing to do with cracktros. it was only an example. i prefer watching a few good polished scenes in a short demo, over watching a long distance and imho boring demo. if a demo is long, it should be interesting. sometimes less is more..a good effect (or a good scene) with good music can amaze me much more than this production, even when the effort put
into such a (fe) cracktro would be 5% of
what has been put into that production.
a good "demo" should fit overall.

Smash : crack tro are soooo oldschool and oldschool is soooooo cool man ! No comment
hmm thats not what i said and that statement nytrik is pretty much bs..but yep..sry- i like a few of them..
fucking slow but looks good
Nice!
i didn't like the robots. and i didn't get the plot. (escaping alien tomatoes?)... but afterall entertaining. :)
A bit slow and low quality on the 3D department. Thumb up for the effort.
broke bigstyle on the bigscreen, too bad. not horribly bad and i like that it's actually going somewhere.
reminds me of this:

A lot of nice effects and very neat soundtrack due the amount of K it uses. The thumb is for the IK and code!
ugly, slow, boring etc.. i really expected much.
nope, didnt do it for me. it seemed way to unfinished.....the look isn't right. see? ;)
I'm ambivalent - I'd watch again, but it's not my favorite Brain Control production.
slow like hell.
really ugly robots... ;)
great flight throught the city at night!
i kinda love parts of the theme.
some scenes are too dark......................

enough with the robots. i got it. I suck! :)
Too bad for poor performance on the compo machine. The music makes it magic.
Argh, didn't enjoy this at all
some stuff was really nice here.
the compo machine SUCKED! :D
quits after the progress bar screen.
w2k, 6600gt

A very decent intro with some cool scenes and a good piece of music. Despite of that, it seems to be too slow at least on my computer. Piggy... but almost a thumb up.
Pretty slow most of the time here as well. Some nice things but also quite a lot of boring/average stuff. The robots are so ugly that I had quite a good laugh. :) If there's a story I completely missed it. Music is fits pretty well I think. Not a bad intro but it could have been a lot better.
For an effort.
To bad a little slow on my system
but this should have been no1 and not no2 :)
but this should have been no1 and not no2 :)
A weak thumb up. Music could have been much better with more harsher sounds, but at least there were some good parts in it. Robots looked funny indeed, unintentionally i guess :)
Really slow, ugly and horrible music.
Kinda visually impressive, but the music fucks the intro up and makes it boring. Its probably supposed to action up the scenes, but for me it really does the oposite. Sorry, Piggy.
some c00l visuals, very nice (but not fitting) soundtrack... i like it
well done but not my cup of tea
very, very slow, but interesting in some way.
so teh piglet
so teh piglet
It looks nice, it sounds nice and (from seeing the video) it runs quickly enough.
Hell, the zik alone in worth the thumb up. People thumbing down should try to create something similar thrmself. But fat chance that it would ever happen - it requires more skill than clicking in a f-ing browser.

slow and ugly.. sorry... i like those flying bobbles though :)
I don't know what to say. On the other hand it's pretty cool, on the other hand the robots are not and the plot was pretty wtf. Memories from the MCP is still by far my favourite BC production :)
I think we've seen these 3d flyby intros already done way better that this, plus the robots are really ugly. The cheesy music doesn't really help. And I don't think something like this should run so slow on core2duo e6600/radeon1900.
What's with the big ass pixels in the glow/flame/whatever effects?

great stuff as always. esp. the music rocks hard!
It has some, if few, cool elements. But when the robots come in, it just tears it apart for me. Can't thumb this one.
Impressive visuals and rocking tune :)
Some ugly and slow parts, but then again some really nice stuff. Only a piggy this time.
the same
feels like there was no real vision of where this intro should be going.
whatever happened, it feels pretty thrown-together and disconnected. some of the scenes are quite nice, but the intro as a whole doesn't work for me.

fucked up on the compo machine but managed to see this later. contains actually some really cool scenes. overall a bit too incoherent and yes, the robots are fugly, but still an uppie.
hey i like the music, the animations are ok. nice stuff, go on !
the music made me reach for a razor
Uuuuh, at 1:32 the music sounds sooooo much like a ripoff of a rather well-known Jean Michel Jarre tune (can't remember the name now, typical...).
The rest of the soundtrack is OK, I guess. Quite messy here and there...missing a great and combining theme, I think...but overall, the music goes well along with the rest of the production - to quote Randy Jackson on American Idol: "It was just OK for me, dude....I don't know....It just just OK, dog..."

Cool 64K Demo. Should have won the TUM 64K compo !
Should be nr 1!
Almost... but not quite.
quite nice code.
the planet aproach scene + in-vortex Rlz!!
The rest a bit boring, and un-realistic, but impressive to fit it in just 64k!!!

With a better eye it could have been great :)
cool music, nice rendering
some VERY cool scenes and music parts mixed up with TOO MUCH cheesy scenes and music parts.
everything's been said.
I downloaded the music first and thought "wow, this sounds like end credits music from a film" or some recap of dramatic themes... and now having seen the intro, it seems I was right, this thing is like a movie trailer. (and I *think* I could follow the plot too.)
That said, this intro seems to suffer from enormous space (and probably time) pressure; like 64kb isn't nearly enough to pull this off properly (in particular, the robots were... ugh.), and they didn't have enough time to synch the music or tighten the 'script'.
This could be an awesome demo.
Anyway, I really liked the warship chase thing, and the stargate.

Brain control style, a bit less abstract.
not my style
My favourite intro soundtrack ever.
not the best BC but enough for a thumbup
Just because you try to be like FC or AND doesn't make it good. :-P Not bad by any means, but could have been great without the excessive epic cheesiness. Like psonice said, "Almost... but not quite."
nice, like the red balls...:-)
Worst BC production ever...
so so
entertaining!
I earned a beer :)
btw, I like it
btw, I like it
One of my favourite 64k's!
Not too bad, but probably the worst rendering in any of t heir prods. Piggy for having a narrative (still hate the synth/music tho).
