This is an improved version of the 32bytes fire effect. It's now 99% glitches free and takes the full screen. The sad note is that I had to get rid of the <3 padding.

calling that "fire" is a bit of a stretch innit? it's like 4 fps and blue/green/yellow.

I liked it. After a while, it becomes "Burning Egypt" (with all these pyramids haha).

I like the effect and the idea, but boo for "dec bh"
what do you suggest to replace "dec bh" ? "mov bh,ffh" is as big
@p01: but "dec bx" is one byte shorter ;)

bx must be ff00 at most if I don't want to have some glitches at the top of the screen since I output the garb^b^b^b^bseeds of the fire using:

I thought bx cycles between ff00 and ffff... and you just fill the whole 256 bytes with randomness? Sorry if I misunderstood :)

I've just realized I didn't write the whole idea, sorry... this should be identical to your version:
