It wasn't as bad as many homevideo wilds, but it'd be nice if Finnish people understood there are other ways to do a wild demo besides a parody of a movie/computer game. And no way did it deserve to win. But the game-style movements of the actor were quite cool.

This exact same concept was already done on the TV program "Chapelle's Show" on Comedy Central in the US. Either new rules need to be enforced for the wild compo (e.g. demos with special hardware), or the compo should be done away with altogether.

I preferred the LCD Megademo (I agree w/ Phoenix that the category should be for entries using special hardware), but what I liked about Grand Theft is that it made fun of all the problems with that game. I must be one of the five people on Earth who didn't think GTA3 was the Second Coming, so I got a good laugh out of this. The opening run animation, the phone booth sequence where the canned anim "pops", the unwieldy sniper rifle, etc. They nailed it.

It's cool although this idea has been already done a while ago...
And some scenes are absolutely not-GTA-like.
But the movement of the main character is just amazing ;)

i really hate to see shit like this winning a wild compo. especially when my prods don't even make it to the bigscreen. i also wonder if a wild competition is just full of shitty videos with game/movie references, is there any point to have it at all?

also, one day i will go berzerk and kill all people who have done matrix-references to their prods.

i think i'll also do all the persons who have participated in asm wild compo jury...

uhh, sucks... seemly it has effect to those who play games, i wonder how this came 1st. oh well, wild compo sucked anyway but still..
