It's ok. Gameplay is correct. But no sound? No score? 8k is not *that* small.

i changed some stuff. it's much faster now and less than 7kb. please try it again chenmy1. make sure your browser doesn't cache the zip file!

Speed is framerate-dependent. That makes it nearly unplyable in higher levels on my machine. Plus when I shot lots of astroids at the same time, suddenly they all became awfully fast and it crashed.

chock, sorry my lame attempt at implementing momentum - it seems the speed increases after collisions, which kinda breaks certain laws i think ;)
i just uploaded the *final* version which just changes direction on collisions. sorry about the framerate problem :/

nice and well done. i found aswell that staying in the middle you can win easily (but i stopped at 7)

gameplay is not correct. :) the ship rotates around the tip, not the center of the triangle, and the shots should expire, not travel around until they hit something. other than that, it was good for it's size. :)

gloom: i just uploaded a fixed version with the corrected triangle rotation. however the misile wrapping is intentional, otherwise the game is way too easy. for your personal enjoyment i have made a special build without missile wrapping, you can download it here: http://dila.mine.nu/upload/asnowrap.exe

made small changes. fixed collision problems and tweaked sprites.

even though I'm a kid that considers playstation as retro I found this game amusing and addictive :) never played asteroids before so I can't comment on if it's a good copy or not.. imo the only thing that needs to be changed is the "machinegunning" when holding space :P it just makes it too easy.. managed to get to 14 asteroids! nice work

No scorekeeping, no firing while turning.

Great game improves on the gameplay where you have to be wary of causing your own destruction, who needs score really, it's a 'level' game. Jeff Mintor would be proud.

Wtf? My own shots kill me... Should have been way smaller as well. Nice idea, poor execution.

played to aprox 12 "bigballs" (so level 9 or so).. In one level the collision fucked up and i was invincible.
Overall nice but my strategie was: rotate a little and then autofire to the max..
