Is Good to see raytrace with 256b, this download include source code !!

looks more like several filled circles in different shades of gray above each other, but maybe it's raytracing.
256b intros must be the most useless thing the demoscene has spawned <g>.
the real name is: RAYTRACING SPHERE
_ : 256b intro is one the biggest challenge the scene has ever spawned!
I don't thumb this one up 'coz it lacks of "design"

i'd say that only colors #16..31 are used, therefor it looks so "not-cool". the author also was not able to implement the most advanced feature of raytracing (raycasting in this case, btw) which is reflection of other objects (yes, there are no other objects but it's a con anyway)
A nice attempt to do a raytraced ball in 256b
What's the point in making 256byte intros? I mean, these products sucks ass. Stop laming, and start making some real prods.
The point in making 256 byte intros is the same than making one in 64 kbyte: Show the impossible in the given (size) limits. And if you think they're lame, you don't know anything about coding...
i agree with asasel. don't go tell me i don't know anything about coding.. i just think these beauties belong on their separate site since they offer so little audiovisual content. and that mister, is a fact :)
that sir, is your opinion.
bring on the 256ers
bring on the 256ers
Asasel: in what are 256b not "real prods" ??
many 256b have nice fx and design which alone deserves respect in regards of "real prods"
and the fact that they fit in only 256bytes makes them even more respectables

(I will add:
what's the point in making demos instead of a 3dsMax raytrace rendering (with more beauties and audiovisual content, for sure) ?)
--->
surely the coder of this thing took a lot of fun by making "something" and pushing some byte.
word.

A good 256b is damn amazing. Take most things by baze, for example.. neat effects, in a tiny piece of code.
But man, this is the demoscene, not a coding contest.. one moving sphere doesn't constitute anything.

the sphere must be calculated like z=sqrt(r^2-x^2-y^2), but it is not raytracing, i havent looked at the source, but i think it is "only" a distance calculation.
the sucker polygon-heads cannot do this anyway. :)

Seems fake, too fake...
yeah, fake. that's what many effects base on.
:/
:\
Pretty average.
:/
ok
Pig it is
ok.. its a fake, but nice =)
Large code... slow, standart palette, but OK.
sp here, bp there
moves smooth and i like it.
