It ran 0.05 FPS (yes, it renders every 20 seconds) at the office. I'll try it at home with an FX card but before that I downloaded the video version and wathced it with a reasonable FPS :) it's good except this horrible music.
I liked the effect, very good for 4kb. I disliked the music and I think you should also optimize the effect. So, it's a piggy. But keep working on this kinda demos. Skarab seems like a good coder.

absolutely unbelievably bad framerate (on a gffx5700 quadro, actually - one frame every few seconds). part of being a good coder is managing some kindof reasonable framerate, right? =) and the music was terrible.
however, at least on the video version it actually looked decent, and i didnt think i'd say that about a skarab prod. =) (the shadows pretty much make it, i guess)

I thumbed it up from the video version. The executable runs a ~ 2 SPF ( Seconds Per Frame ) on my GF4.

It's a bit slow and the "music" sucks donkey balls, but other than that, it's cool. I agree with gargaj, why not get artists to work with you?

visuals are good (and fast on gf6800 go), synth is good, music is horrendous.
The music is terrible. Softysnth sounds ok though, visuals look ok, but lacking synching to the music imho. So, code is good, the rest is ok.

good to see the 60mb process finally got terminated. but yeh, get someone who can at least do you some good samples with your synth coz the music now is totally detuned and earbleeding :P

im inclined to think this is all cpu rendering.. so a fast gfx card wont make much diff.. runs nice for me tho (athlon xp 2200GHz)

Yes it's slow, the size makes there is no speed optimisation in that, and there is a big bunch of faces with all these cubes which create big bunch of faces for stencil tests. Yes shadows are cpu calculated (no use of shaders at all).
I've done some tests, there is a speed fall with some drivers : i couldnt get the same framerate i've had when making video, cause i had changed drivers (dont remember with version), but yesterday i installed the last nvidia drivers, i just tested now to launch it : i get 20fps (more than in the video) on my gfFX5700 - Athlon 64 3200+. So try with the last drivers. ( i don't know where come the framerate with others drivers, i'll try to check that, if i can, it looks like a malfunction in the init which create bpp conversion or something like that... )

auld was wrong. Fortunately I get a second chance to balance that out. This is actually quite good in 4k in retrospect and I regret the thumb down. Sorry Skarab hopefully this balances it out a little.
