This release has the config dialog, missed in the party version to avoid configuration failures :) Thanks for watching!

the visuals were really nice and although the music wasn't really my cup of tea i still liked parts of it.
imo the best spöntz demo and at least one of the best demos originally released for macs.

visuals are getting better and better towards the end, but the music is remainding me of some elevator-tunes.. :(

Gorgeous. Merlucin, I am starting to like your piano ;)

I'd say this is the best spöntz prod so far.

ouch ... not my cup of tea. a few nice ideas, but overall lacks design (glowing type like that is way too 90ies -- and even then it sucked ;) ).

I like it, and the music too :)

Good stuff, I liked the music, and there were some really nice scenes. Really reminded me of planet risk in a few parts, which isn't a bad thing.

The spontz demos really need a config dialogue though, i'm getting sick of editing the config file by hand ;) Also, better widescreen support would be very nice. Oh, and a sync to refresh switch, to avoid tearing. (end of shopping list...)

Settings I used to get it running nicely in widescreen (in graphics.spo in the data folder):
gl_panoramic 1 (0 gets rid of the borders but you lose the sides..)
gl_width/height (set to a widescreen resolution, it ran nice at 1280x854 on my powerbook)
gl_rttwidth 1024 (improves quality if you have a fast 3d card)

Oh, how do i turn on AA?

Well, a really nice demo ... though the music starts quite dull, it gets really enjoyable in the end, and quite fits the demo ...
Added with some really nice visuals in some parts ( though some quite arguable color choices ^^ )
rulez added on the 2005-07-26 16:24:30 by kohai kohai
Nice demo, everything fits together. Somewhat minor nitpick: please add vsync :)

Hi candent! I suppose you are watching the party version. The final version has the configuration dialog enabled (in control.spo) This is for windows only of course!

Just Great! Worthed the #1 :) Nice orchestral music as always, and idea and effects are really impressive. Congrats.

nice and calm - I liked it better than the 1st place. And it even runs on Mac. Stay with that mood. techno sucks :)

Very nice, as always.
I think there's a small bug in the windows version though. All stage layers appear too scaled and the left half goes out of the screen, so you can't read anything. I remember this didn't happen at the party.

By the way, Spöntz are the new Moppi. If I'm not wrong this is the 3rd time in a row you place 2nd at the euskal democompo :)

Nice, but needs serious work on the text layers
rulez added on the 2005-07-27 16:21:10 by shash shash
It's awsome. I liked it a lot. Some of the text are to fast, but it's really not to read.
rulez added on the 2005-07-27 17:14:38 by xernobyl xernobyl
Not the best ever, but it was quite nice to watch all the way through. The underlying theme helped greatly to hold everything together. However, something about the music didn't quite work for me -- perhaps it was the drum samples. Dunno.

All the same, very enjoyable. A keeper.

Enjoyed this a lot at party place, beautiful, long...
I like spontz prods more and more each time :D

Assholes, you stole my demo concept ;) Now I need to think of something else.

But aside from that, I can only say: Yet another delightful Spöntz demo. <3

It looks to me that you're always doing the same demo over & over again. Doesn't reach the quality of die änderung.
added on the 2005-07-28 12:54:04 by hitchhikr hitchhikr
I have to agree with hitchhikr regarding the similarity with the other prods. Probably is just your style, somehow that one looks a remix of some of some of your prods, some effects from the lifeway (watereffect, greetings based in particles), some others from inferno (poser model falling in a tube), and from the pleasure of art (credits syncro)..

The loading is pretty scary, some graphics (beginning) had a quite bad jpeg compression visible on them, and the spontz 3D logo on the end doesn't really have a cute modelling to have that shine on it.

I think there are too many unpulished bits this time and also I missed the WOW effect combination you usually do.

So, sorry about that guys.. but piggy.. Looking forward for your next one anyway.

it does not start on my mac (g5).
added on the 2005-07-28 18:53:12 by neon neon
neon: try to install the sdl runtime library, libsdl.org or perhaps you have a too old gfxcard ?
added on the 2005-07-28 22:07:42 by evil evil
neon, it should work on any G5 mac, just open the console (not terminal) and launch the demo: any error message will be logged there

I agree with bonzaj. I like this much more than the first placed demo at euskal. Pure Spontz style, rocks ;)

Holy Shit... Fantastic Show - Really Great Music :)
rulez added on the 2006-01-27 17:02:29 by Sapphire Sapphire
Excellent idea well realized and overall a good demo but I feel the texts could've used a bit more styling, uses a wider part of the spectrum than I find tasteful and has lots of bright lights. Aside from those little complaints I enjoy it thoroughly. Close call.
added on the 2006-04-05 21:55:37 by slux slux
In fact we have rewritten all the 2D painting routines to make the texts shine in the next prods :)
