a great production indeed. the objects are very simple, but hey, it's only 4k! and the music simply rocks for such a size.

Nice easy and simple though you even get small glitches in music and smooth motion on speedy machines. However as mentioned by flod and robotriot, this is nice for 4KB! Try it!
people tend to forget what other 4k's show. this is definately great for this size.
most definitely a stunning 4k intro. take a look at the shadow effects and - this impresses me most of all - the sound. they used a buzz-like engine to calculate the sound instead of using samples...respect to you dresden force people!
As Yoda and me (in our function as demo compo organizers of the Dialogos) tested this on the Compo PC (with the Freestyle guys standing behind us), the only thing we gould get out was "How..." ... and the answer from them was "Honestly, we don't know ourselves".
I think, this describes it best.

well.
störfall was definitely the 4k intro of the year, and I think it's quite sad that it doesn't seem to get the attention it deserves. this one seriously kicks ass. (some people i showed it even thought it was a 64kb intro!)

yep, as ryg said: it really kicks ass! thumbs up

yeah, as said, this fantastic, so much in 4kb.. even a softsynth playing great music..
(and since it's a windows intro, it's not as hard to run as trying to watch older dos 4k's today)

Quite cool. At first I was a pit picky about calling it a 4k in the same sense as a DOS 4K (seeing it's backed by a bunch of libs) but it's still one hell of an effort.
Two thumbs up! (I have only two hands)

perfect :)
how the hell did you make those drum sounds?
how the hell did you make those drum sounds?
Quite amazing, have to admit. "Industry" demos / intros seem to really be the thing now. I didn't really get what those machines are doing in this one. :-> The color scheme is a bit dull but that's forgivable.
WHAOUH !!!
very good for only 4kb !!!
a full 3d scene with perpetual movement
and a TRUE music in it !!!
one of the best !

wonderful, "a 64k intro in 4k"
yes. the music. indeed.
Music is buggy here, but you can hear it.
Truly a wonder - yes, the 'honestly we don't know either' works (:

Yeah, best 4k in 2000, definately. Really impressive music and 3d scenes.
The 8th wonder of the world :)
Astonishing
Good.
This demo was great!!!!!
I wonder the world for this demo.:)

it hurts
Daaaaamn...
still wow ... and stuff.
look and sounds cool.
Good design and concept... far more than expected for a 4k!
no words needed
'stoer'
broken link :x
Excellence in 4k, clean design, nice sound
wtf, i haven't commented this? superb intro... and great attitude to give away the sources, respect.
hooray
respect to the almighty dresden scene
considering the knowledge amassed by mankind on the field of size-optimizing i have to tell you, that this 4k simply can not exist :))
fucking unbelievable... i'm still trying to find my dropped jaws...

I love it.
Bypass intro style in 4k.

impressive! vote!
clean design.. excellent soft-synth.. catchy tune.. interesting scene.. pure unadulterated dope. best 4k ever.
Repetitive, slow, but it's 4k... pigface
Just watched it again. It was rule in 2000 and it is still good over 3 years later. But the difference of the computing power could be seen a bit (compare with Mojo Dreams).
Great for 4k!
It definitely rocked the Dialogos cinema!
This rules and the tune is just brilliant!
This is a very high-quality 4K production. Everything about it is as perfect as a 4K can be. Good code, good design, and good music!
still impressive
Only thing that could have made this better would have been some synching of the movements to the tune.
link fixed, link to sources added.
It keeps impressive.
It keeps impressive.
This one back in 2000? wow.. :p
attention please! =)
This is THE 4k for sure. I remember the first time I saw it. Very enjoyed the trax (mindflower). Then I discovered the scene. A hilarious thing, but so well rendered, and synched:).
I'm not sure but probably the first time I see such animated robots into an intro. Big big thumb.

music!!!
I think this was the 4kb intro that defined the change to the current tendency in the category. Respects.
One of the few 4K intros i do remember. great!
where's my thumb ?
and mine?
original!
thumb missing
absolute rulez
absolute rulez
at dialogos 2000 it's been nothing but a sensation.
it rules
great one
Great Störfall. ;)
Very nice, expecially the crispy (and synched) music. Going back to hugi 27 now!
still one of the best windows 4ks in my opinion
not a bad prod..
just didn't like distort bass and uber-freq. hat.. lots of the same visuals.. innovate as they are, would have been more appealing with variation.
ok but not really for me.

yes!
great!
more attention needed! "ahead of its time" doesn't begin to describe this. CDC!
parapete told me to thumb this up without watching it, because he's corrupt and dishonest. But I watched it and now I'm thumbing it up of my own accord.
One of the first cool PC 4k's I saw. Rocks.
not very often i agree with ryg but..
Definitely a milestone in 4k development! And for me personally it is the real beginning of the era of accelerated 4k.
this is just a sick 4k intro!!!
a closed circuit without end...
i like the music :-)
was für ein störfall...

very neat 4k indeed
Good for the size and age.
omg is all that comes to mind.
Rocks!
ahead of it's time, managed to impress me when i first saw it!
classic!
!
classic, way ahead of its time.
wow!! ..
best snares / percussions i've heard so far in a 4k intro!! just .. abit fucked up EQ's or too much gain ;-)

jezuz.. thats a BASS! :)
one of my favourite 4ks. the overall styling and the design idea are truly superior.
An entirely new level of complexity compared to what was seen in 4ks at the time. And quite well presented as well. Where has my thumb been all these years? :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIDgd1AQpyY
I never thumbed that up? Forgive me for my ignorance :)
pioneer work!
slick! and the bass!
very good
when 4k didn't suck
Simple, but uses the best parts of its simplicity to its advantage (scene composition colors, positioning, flat shading). I would've kept the lighting a bit more flat too, but whatever. The music also relies on the same principles as the visuals, which is something I really appreciate. The distortion on the drums works so well.
please do a remix with AO enabled :P
Just to think that this was done in 4k _before_ Crinkler was available is nuts for me, music is quite awesome for that size as well.
Now if only my 64Bit Win7 would actually run a .com file ^^

Stoerfall ost was one of the first 4ks I'd seen, and it was one to remember. A well-directed scene was already good to have, but that soundtrack transcended the filesize and sealed the deal. As noby pointed out above, the distortion on drums is just perfect.
this was pretty good at the time. feels a bit outdated nowdays, but still nice.
Pretty hilarious how the snare in one of the first windows 4k intros is better than in 90% of 4ks today :D
This still stands up honestly.
This still stands up honestly.
still one of the best 4k tunes.
How did I not know about this?? Honestly one of the best 4k soundtracks I've heard, and it's from 20 years ago...
Impressive back then and today.
Huh, missing thumb? A real early Windows 4k gem.
This was a 4k milestone, even today this would be a compo winner.
The desktop at the end is just omg :D
The desktop at the end is just omg :D
Pioneer of many techniques that are used by most 4Kb intros today. That music alone was amazing back then.
nice
still a 'yeah' :)
Wtf, i thought i thumbed this up long ago ...
