some scenes are particularly yummy, specially the stylish urban railroad one! they did great with the last Chemical album :)

fun
This is not a demo in my opinion. And some of the visuals looked really ugly with my Diary of Dreams..

*this is not a demo*
(but some of the FX rule!!!)

yeah, not what i'd call a demo too. But there's some nice stuff in it that could become a demo.

Where is the Executable? I'm not a big expert in compiling code from other platforms...

OSX exe is coming in a few hours, haven't got access to a mac until later tonight... as for not being a demo - erm... why not? because it's interactive and doesn't rely on its own soundtrack or because it's done in director? so much for pigeonholing... ;) plus, i did choose "demo" + "wild" when setting up the prod page. the system irgnored the latter...

am not trying to be defensive here, but IMO if this oldskool def of what is a demo isn't challenged, it will soon be all over... sceners used to be open minded and pushing the envelope, now traditionalists are dizzing everything which is slightly different. shame really!

as for new modules: there will be more in future, but you can also easily build your own. will write a tut on that too...

i have to disagree with you there toxi.. if this is a demo, how about winamp plugins? screensavers? etc etc...

But its not far off... if you'd bundled it with a tune and a script that starts it running, it would be. For now, its somewhere between a demo an a winamp plugin or something for me. Not far enough from being a demo to be dropped from the database i think too. Would have been better i think if pouet had picked it up as a wild tho, instead of a demo, that suits it pretty well :)

I'll have a play on mac later perhaps, see what it can do.

toxi is right : ideas of VJ-ish demos have already been discussed on the BBS and i hope we'll see relative compos in some demoparties of this year :)

fair enough psonice, point taken... i also just asked admin to change the status to wild to end this discussion.

I had some trouble getting the beat detection to work reliably, since it would occasionally miss beats or pick up on vocals instead. Nevertheless, some of the effects are really good-looking, like the railroad and kaleidescope.

toxi: you should get some of the other stuff on your site on here too, like the sky blue sky one. And don't forget the osx version ;)

okay peeps, at last the OSX version is now available for download too... (see link above) cheers.

hmm... osx version has a minor bug i think... it has no option to select the internal audio as source (unless it's the DV option?) but it seems to actually work ok on internal microphone.. even tho i have headphones on and the room is pretty silent :)

Also, it seems to run as a full-screen borderless window on osx... which actually rules, as the dock and stuff stay on top and you can more or less use it as a background picture. Thanks for getting it out on osx anyway.. those were a long few hours ;D

neat thingy. problem: dual head support should display console on the internal display (powerbook) and the vis on the external dvi or svideo out.

funny thing with the dual head support. some people have complained about it being on the secondary monitor, because it often isn't accelerated. so i moved it back to the primary display. i guess will need to add an option to let the user decide. thanks for the heads up though... ;)

Played it to a thinner track mix .. Perfect visualisation. Plus it sort of feels like an instrument, when you play with beat detection threshold.
