It starts having phun!!! =)
Enjoy :)
hahah come on! Who will make it to 280 first? ;-)
There's some mentions about unreleased versions working only with 1mb of ram and displaying 300 sprites per VBL
Yeah, well, obviously i meant in 512Kb...
640 should be enough for everyone :)))
I wonder how much balls Amiga500 can display per frame :)
Don't temp them ;)
tempt, I meant to say. Or encourage.
hmm.. well the A500 has a blitter, AND hardware sprites, so it would be quite a few, I think ;-)
hehe... amiga has a hardware sprites :) I know that and I still can bet that Amiga can't produce half of 271 balls!
optimize before posting same stuff 3 times a day with a new name !
That's not exactly that.
Phantom released 2 versions at 3 days of interval.
When he released the 270 version, I've waited 2 days to submit it on Pouet along with the previous 269 record by SOTE. Alas I should have waiting 1 more day as Phantom managed to optimize his code further and released the 271 version the day after.

Boring stuff. I only do not vote it down because it is still technically impressive. That's all!
Why not do more interesting sprite records? What about a sprite record with 4plane sprites on non repetitive background, a non-sine wave and a mod playing? These 2plane standard balls are getting very boring... and I won't change my mind if you manage to display 1000 of them.

what bothers me a bit with these records is that the sprites aren't drawn correctly. i mean, look at the down left corner at the screenshot: there are no white pixels. i guess because the the darkgreen part overwrites the white via some bitplane crap.
I guess this is permitted within the rules of the record compo since leonard does it too, but it's a pretty big error, and easy to spot even when the sprotes are moving.

lai: the sprites were not masked in the original screen made by The CareBears in the Sowatt demo, released in december 1989 and featuring 134 sprites.
i acknowledge that, but it's still ugly
go, go! who is the best coder?!? :-) and how much 16*16*2 sprites amiga can display?
Although it real boring stuff, I like the fact that Leonards record was beaten after we had to watch tons of victory screens by him.
I hope Phantom is not a Leonard disguise...:-) So a pignose this time, and never more...

lai: I almost hadn't noticed that before you told me! :)
It isn't the same with the CPC record, and I took care of properly masking my CPC version too which I unfortunatelly abandoned :P

Oh,. and the default CPC sprite looks better (Even if a bit dark, but with some change of colors?)
LIMP NINJA AND ODD 0WNS J00!!!
I find this pointless
