Crashes on startup. 'Windowed' checkbox doesn't do anything. (xp, radeon9500, latest catalysts)

same here. doesn't even display an error box or sth. besides u used the same engine in 16s demo --> when u check "windowed" the music starts but the window does not create itself :(

20 MB for a 16 prod?? WTF
added on the 2004-10-11 08:49:37 by v3nom v3nom
20mb for a 16 second prod is ridiculous, and not only that, but this goes on for WAY longer than 16 seconds!!

Actually i really liked this, there are some really nice scenes (and some good attempts to out-visualice visualice ;) plus the music really rules.

MESSAGE TO PSONICE: THIS IS A TRADITIONAL DEMO! NOT 16S DEMO.

carson: Really? They didn't make it 5 minutes long by mistake? (I'll remember to make it clear when i'm being sarcastic next time... read venomsoup's comment before mine ;)

Same here, some nice scenes, but no design and flow.

Little bit too flybyish. And buggy postfilters on radeon9100.

doesn't start, changes res and falls back.

d3d debug says:
Direct3D8: (ERROR) :Can specify D3DLOCK_DISCARD or D3DLOCK_NOOVERWRITE for only Vertex Buffers created with D3DUSAGE_DYNAMIC
Direct3D8: (ERROR) :Unlock failed on a buffer; vertex buffer wasn't locked.

ok so it apparently works in retail (grrrr)

some great 3D art but if it wasn't for the bumpmaps i would give this a piggie... :/

Ok here is final, working version of the demo. Write your opinion now:).

Pretty much just static 3D scenes with some non-animated 3D models turning around. Pretty slow moving and too long.

However, the "chunky" stylization of the human models was nifty.
ok it works now .... nice thing ... about the PL scene : waht happened to the nah kolor stars : performer nad sparks ?
rulez added on the 2004-11-17 15:28:31 by nytrik nytrik
nobody knowns that - we hope that one day they will come back;)
I thought static 3d flybyes weren't in fashion anymore. Nice modelling and beautiful bumpmaps, but it really does need life in it.

FWIW, on modern machines it may glow a little too bright in the first factory scene.. running it with dgVoodoo fixed this for me (and fixed the smoke/static animations running too fast.. see YT capture). It can run in widescreen, but with the backgrounds stretched doesn't look as good. 1920x1440 is fine for me. :)
