I am very entertained. I wish I could see this on bigscreen some day..
Cool music, boring rest.
i like this more than the universe part 1.
Great atmosphere. Definitely entertained. Again, can't wait for the next part :)
the music was good but the visuals were a bit on the un-entertaining side i'm afraid.
Just wonderful. I'm also waiting for part 3 :)
yep.
liked it.
don't stop.

seems like you have improved your blur-routine, uncle-x. nice. too centered overlays, but the music and visuals was nice. Not as boring as part1, but not really too etertaining either.
great music and visuals. has a wonderful atmosphere.
Nasa textures in a otherwise pretty uneventful and boring till the end production
The most tedious and banal demo I think I've ever seen!
The music was great, but I think I'd sooner stare at my Winamp equalizer than watch this demo again.

the soundtrack rockz.
It has to be good if Wade doesn't like it
seems not to work on a geforce2...
whoa, top marks for the mood and the music !
Vangelis all the way, and a lil' bit of a tribute to Jeff Mills's "Rings of Saturn" EP there too ?
if so two thumbs d(^_^)

jesus, nice.
rulez
genau.
As boring as the first part, what is the point here ?
Anyway, a nice athmosphere, that does not feel like a demo.

better tahn the first one : i start to enjoy MFX
No real effect, but stunning ...MFX knows how to setup the atmosphere ... Usual High Class quality standard ...
The visuals almost looked like a documentary, the 'series' is shaping good ! :)

i somehow don't get it.
tremendously nice to watch
i somehow don't get it, too.
nice!
Mhmmm. I like the approach, yet something seems to miss. Music's pretty good again.
nice, really good and fitful music.
very professional!!!
merry xmas!!!
merry xmas!!!
It's a very atmospheric piece, just not suitable for all.
Though I still wish Unclex would have done something about the planet's coarse look ;)

Terrible music, otherwise an atmospheric demo, which lacks movement.
dunno, i just love it, the music makes this demo.... the resolution does not :)
hypnotic music.
Better than part 1, more content per megabyte too.
I only wish you'd have done something cool like flying through the atmosphere of the planet, or something with its moons, or done something about the fugly 256-color-esque rings and stuff. Seriously, it looked like it was 8 or 16 bit color, and that threw off the coolness factor.

a little bit boring for my taste...but not bad
cool music, cool trip :)
Crusader: I believe a trip into the atmosphere was planned, but abandoned because it looked like ass. And do you have a Radeon by any chance? (not that there's some banding on Nvidia cards, though) :)
Actually it looked about 256 colour on my GeforceTi too, and also quite blocky around the edges.
Also, all I see is a very slow flyby with a few flashes separating the different camera angles.

ZZzzzzZZZZzzzz....
Geforce 4 Ti 4400 (or was it Go?) in my widescreen laptop.
On second watching, this might be the sort of 'ooh shiny' videos we need at the Villanova astronomy department, to replace all those dumb ones that sound like that audio clip, or that show irrationally happy scientists talking about the really boring aspects...

Really good prod!!!
<insert truck babbling for about 8 hours on various subjects remotely associated with his thoughts on this masterpiece>
As usual, the soudtrack is t0tal 0wnage (oh wait, you call that "pwnage" now I think).
Negative points are "nothing at all happens" and "the planets look far to lowres", but who cares. Headphones on and trip away.

I like weird stuff. But not this. :( The Visuals are nice indeed (Nice Overlays and stuff) but... it's too... boring somehow. :q
mfx did it again
the visuals are nice, but the whole thing is somewhat boring.
this one belongs here too :)
(i do agree about the somewhat lowres planets indeed.. ;))
too bad it's boring... but what a great look... mix the 2 parts in a screensaver, i could be great ;)
liked this more than upt1. whereas the first part lacked small details like the overlay layers (scrolling mumbo jumbo, grids etc.) this has also more continuity, with getting a closer look what's inside the universe - i could suspect the 3rd part gets already to the microspace level...
even if the whole demo is kitchy, full of 80's scifi cliches it also succeeds in creating the often missing atmosphere from ambient demos. oh yes, and the music sure rocks.
oh, and what everyone already said - bigger & better textures for the part3, please. :)

compared to part 1:
+ better/more colours
+ better music
+ less boring
- much slower: I'm getting something like 1 or 2 fps on my gf2 mx and 1,4 Ghz TB. Ok, ok, gf2 mx is old and slow but why is it this slow? I didnt see anything THAT spectacular, or am I missing somthing?
Ignoring the slowness, I give it a thumb up as it's clearly better than part 1

Ladies and Gents,
I declare this the winner of the Jocky Wilson award in the field of excellence!

Jocky Wilson has a few words to say...
When I saw this demo it took me back to my days when I dreamed of being a spaceman. It gives me great pleasure to offer my award to you. Thank you!
Your dear friend,
Jocky Wilson

very nice indeed. Although nothing happens and technically it should bore my pants off, it somehow pulls together well and makes a great chill out piece to watch. Great tune, visuals were good except for the planet looking too low res somehow. Hmm..... maybe if i turn AA on it will look blurred instead of low res? perhaps that was the idea.. but anyway the only flaw.
Looking forwards to pt3 :)

kinda looks like outer space indeed. doesn't really get anywhere though. which i fear was intentional.
Not my cup of tea. Technically nice, but boring if you ask me...
And why does it have 10Megs?
Awesome music, rest a bit dull. But well worth the download
superb feeling once again, and the music is perfect. Gets a little weaker towards the end though.
Music is great, but the rest... Why is it so damn slow? And the dark part of the saturn rings are supposed to be completely black, not transparent...
seems the low-res planet is supposed to be a blur effect... turn on anti-aliasing and it looks like a great softfocus effect, turn AA off and it looks shitty filtered low res. But why not just RTT at higher res?
stylish at all!
BBC&national geographic&discovery, yes.

One of these days.. bang.. zoom.. straight to the 5th moon of Omicron Persei 8.
Seriously.. the music has won a place in my demo compilation mp3 cd for my car stereo.. simply awesome.. the rest.. well atmospheric but not exciting.. so.. a pigface..

Well yes...
The music is great. The visual are very interesting, but the whole thing is just soooooo long.
It's nice to watch but I wouldn't it consider a demo

boring
It's so cinimematic and enourmous. Like the first one it holds common theme and depth. I can't wait for part 3 (and 4 and 5 and 6 and 7....)
how about "part 3 - odyssey 2" ? ;D
Great music makes wonderful atmosphere
wonderful music and visuals.. Captures that magic space feeling =)
yes.. nasa has been superssceeded.. mars sucks .. saturn is da new biz.. it is better than e-commerce!! This just needs a successor.. Much like the first one. What great anticipation and satisfaction it produces.. uh. Uncle X, if you dont make another part of the universe, Ill personally discrace you in front of all of finland by consuming disgusting amounts of beer long after you have fallen asleep in the race and the face of the norwegian beer challenging amiga coder from the darkest corners of hell!!!........ If a trilogy isnt good enough,. do a quadrupology.. yeah.. saturday night rules eh.. even if its a tuesday........ and now an arrogant message to all you people who know everything in thery but have never produced anything worthwhile > You may stay in your world of collecting divxs of tv series and coding python and perl.. youre all full of shit!!!!!!
word loaderror! =)
I would also like to see more... The Nebula? The Globular Cluster? The Single Cell? (though you'd have to beat Protozoa/Kewlers on that one)
I have confused feelings towards MFX. They're a group whose productions I always look forward to, yet at the same time I find most of their demos to be uneventful viewing.
I suppose it's the conceptual effort they put into their work, as well as the fact they rarely walk the beaten path. For this I have tremendous respect. Yet their style, for the most part, doesn't appeal to me.
This demo is no different. It oozes MFX all over, yet it fails to excite me.

shit.
The music and overall "feeling" is great! Good sound system in a dark room - and I can watch it ten times in a row.
The music is phenominal.
Just sit back and enjoy this relaxing and absorbing demo. Probably my favorite MFX production.,

I decided to thumb it up for the music alone. Waiting for part 3.
enough is enough!! I say it is time to demand a ring around the earth aswell!!
Great soundtrack and great visuals. I really like the ambience.
Not much code, but great visuals and nice soundtrack. The music starts great but kind of dies at the end.
demonstrates shaders or cutting-edge technolgy is NOT needed to do a clean, eyecandy production...mfx guyz, your design skills & ideas are vastly superior THUMB up!
Nice atmosphere, great soundtrack, could-have-been-better visuals.
Too slow paced visually, but the music rocks!
for music
calm and great atmosphere!
music is cool - but for being chill - it needs to be longer . somethin u can run and sit back for minutes ... it should have some looping mode .. something ... ergh
nice trip.
Very good.
Extremely boring....
Good music.
boring. part 1 is far better.
great music, better than part1, but still not enough. not for 9 MB.
Any plans for a part 3?
I like the planets. The dark side is great.
One of the best demo soundtracks I've ever heard... =O
And yes, for sure I swapped the comments between pt 1 and pt 2.

Outstanding, even better than the first part! The filters and the careful choice of samples give this one a distinctive and authentic look and feel. I would like to see a third part of this installation - or does "Aether" count as an "unofficial" third part?
thumbs up for the music as the rest was pretty boring
Much better than part1!
the best part of the trilogy.
better than part 1, but not convincing either.
For me, it's the less convincing of the serie...
It's not the reason for i'm thinking that but... anyone annoyed by the strongly aliased planet borders?

Great demo here! Cool soundtrack also.
So beautiful <3
Simply stunning again

Breathtaking #2.
Nice Planet, nice Music.. i love demos like that :)
Not much happening here.
Excellent 2nd part.
ach ja
Nice soundtrack - maybe a bit longish, but then again it creates a nice atmosphere... :)

What Loaderror said in 2004
still boring (from part 1)
Very atmopheric!
Top tier visuals in 2003, nice albeit a tad cheesy music.
