It`s ok, too few scenes.....great idea in the end of the demo though.
I liked this. The physics engine is good and it's not a boring 3d-rotator. The music I think fit the demo rather well.

If you don't mind some bad quality sound effects, this demo is very good. For once a physics engine show-off has decent graphics, a fitting music track and it's quite funny. The outtakes of course is the best part of the demo.

The end bit should've been the main demo. Piano performance wasn't great, so I assume they recorded it themselves. It also had poor sound quality.

just looking at the screenshot and description in here makes me not want to download this.
Funny and has a lot of nice ideas. More of a technology demo than a scene prod: really stood out in the compo because it looked different.
it was cute but a physics engine with 3 scenes and ripped music shouldnt be on top3.

Well, as it demonstrates skills, it's a demo. And the end part is funny. Thumb up for me.
skills, schmills. The payoff for this demo is screwing with a couple of parameters in the same goddamn scenes for a while. No skills, but certainly worth a laugh.

Also, my piano playing really sucks, so apologies for that. We thought about using other music as well, but in the end I wanted to keep the classical piece to constrast the breaking stuff.
Our original idea was to trick the viewer into thinking that the beginning part was all there is. Then we wanted to have lots and lots of funny outtakes so that the actual demo would be made almost 90% of those. Due to time limitations we really didn't get that idea through well enough. Although it is rewarding to read that most of the people seemed to like the few outtakes we had time to do.
As far as not being a "proper" demo, we really didn't know what a demo must be like.

It's got code, graphics, music and it is well designed. Personally, I think this is more of a demo than many other productions we've seen recently, because it is also _original_. I should also point out that the choice of classical music was excellent design-wise.
Maybe some people don't consider this a demo because it had no... scene poetry :-)

I'm also glad that you aparrently had no time to add extra bloopers. It got stale after the fifth "oops".
It is refreshing to see something so different design- and musicwise.
cute and very entertaining ... plus a nice different taste. like it. and the classical music works perfectly as the mentioned contrast to what you see. any other music would just have been a background element while here it becomes a character of the prod. no problem with that at all ...
addition: but nevertheless this should be far from the top10! it's neat and stuff, but not comparable with a real demo ...

Final part was fun and psyhics seem like a porn to me. Still, not enough for a thumb up. I think this looks sweeter than Dream Equations, but.. they got it first :) A bit more innovative stuff next time and I give you all thumbs you ever need.

It follows quite closely the Baraff's lectures at SIGGRAPH 2003, but I had to add a lot of tweaks and tricks to make it work better with several objects. Also, Baraff's paper doesn't really discuss friction that much, so that had to be added from the scratch.

So the "out takes" lasted longer than the demo. Great. This demo totally sucks. Why the hell did it come 3rd? Assembly voters clearly know jack shit about anything when things like this crock of garbage comes 3rd and We Cell by Kewlers comes 5th. What the fuck.
I'd say this is a lot more "scene-related" than your average abstract flyby. There is more to it than bad IDM, leet handles and greetings lists you know..

After reading the previous comments I can only repeat what some people have said: this is a good physics engine and this "demo" is a collection of examples showing its capabilities (nothing more) and not a sublime synthesis of skilfulness and artistic sensation, as I think a real demo should be.
Pretty decent, and definitely more interesting than most stuff released nowadays.

Not much of a demo or art for that matter. Had it been up to me only, this one wouldn't have even qualified to be shown on the screen. Physics engine shown off badly.

It's not MEGA-BLINK-THE-SCREEN-AND-ENVMAPED-DUCKS-demo, but it's kinda nice in it's own little way. I like it.
