Ok, releasing first prod is a nice reason to register on pouet.
So i'd like to tell a couple of words:
First of all, this is just the version that was made for ASM04. I've sent slightly improved version to Chaos Constructions ORGs but they forgot about it.
Still it appeared to be enough to take 1st place at CC04.
Second, music was really MIDI (but should sound the same everywhere because of DMusic).
I've written sample generator and integrated miniFMOD into intro system, but… Peregrinius hates Trackers, he uses real notes in Guitar Studio Pro. A couple of days of experiments with converting MIDI to XM have shown: converted XM sounded worse than original MIDI. So in about a week before the party we've decided to use MIDI. Probably a good idea for future would be to write a midi-player with own samples.
Anyway, we didn't expect a lot of people to like it.
Gargaj: don't you mind my sending you debug version for getting LOG from you? Coz i still couldn't find a buggy machine.
tiamad: ah, sorry, how can i now upload improved versions or change a shot?

Im so sorry for my vote but the nice idea behind it and originality counted less than the wrong music and horrible textures also the ugly camera....
No thumb down since it's a first prod, but if your code doesn't allow it, don't go for pretentious design...

after seeing this i consider two things to be miracles today:
1 - i actually watched the whole thing (though i had to turn off the sound after 30 seconds)
2 - i didn't commit suicide afterwards.

interesting idea, albeit boring. It's ugly for sure, though no thumb down as for a first prod it's rather promising.
Okay, it's a first prod, and it's not THAT bad, but for the love of God, what does this have to do with Dostoyevsky? A flyby with ugly textures, horrible sounds in the background, a hand-painted picture (that was the best thing in the entire intro) and an axe make me think of NeHe tutorials instead of the Crime and Punishment (which is a great book and should be read by all).
Please continue doing demos, but try not to be so overly ambitious. It's not good for you, I know from my personal experience ;)

If its first production, its ok. But still i didnt like it very much. It was boring, i was on the verge to close it, but i watched through it all, the music is horrible (sorry). Why use midi btw? To save space? The production is too depressing, why not make something with more of a happy theme? Better luck next time :)

MIDI METAL! FOV GALORE and ugly but colorful textures. strange intro, but it sucks!
The colors were horrid and the progression was slow. Still, there are some good ideas here. More experience and better technique could have made a good production out of this.

The bizarre 1992 graphics and the midi music give this thing an unsettling atmosphere and somehow make it work.
