typical visualice demo with nothing special, thus it sure has its artistic and stylish sides, which i like. But this time i think visualice has been a bit to brave and controversial in the choice of colors. some parts simply looked like puke

MadenMann: it seems like this demo where ruined by the coders choice of colours if i may put it that way. i've always liked the visualice style, but this demo had indeed some nice looking images. but after watching it again can tell that the beginning of the demo is pretty nice, but the other half is ruin the flow. i like visualice style, dont get me wrong. it just looks for me like they rushed to get the demo finish...

Very nice graphics, fast and clean code, a decent music track and solid design.

The problem is, the demo is empty. its lifeless. It has no feeling. Which is both odd and sad, considering that it's obvious some people spent time designing it.

Pure design showcase. As far as visualise demos goes, it's not even a typical visualice one. It seemed to me that he at least tried to do something different this time.

But it didn't help. Last but one in this years demo compo. People just don't vote for this kind of stuff anymore.

I think the Visualice art/graphics/design style still has life left, but maybe the demos lack some kind of progression, speed and life. I think the main reason they're boring is because they're so slow and lifeless, not because of the style.

visualize = one trick pony? Surely you can see that he tried to change his style in this demo, but the emptyness remains. The unremarkable music surely adds to that. Maybe it is time to cut down the number of releases a little, or team up with somebody else.

Uh, excuse me? First FR that I had multiple urges to press esc.. Nice try with the orange, but no frog this time.

There are two possibilities: either visualice developed a really unhealthy dependency on completely nonshaded red objects or this demo doesnt dislpay as it should on my genuine nvidia gf3+newest drivers as of writing. anyway this demo is not bad compared to other recent releases. A bit better than just okay.

I can hardly explain my feeling for it. this is great art for sure. the kind of demo which will probably gain value over the years.
I'm not sure the others "popular" demos will have this interest in a near of far future once the technical side will be obsolet.

It's not too bad but I prefer the 'original' FR style...

Looks good, but sounds bad and it's boring. One thumb up and two down.

either this is pure genius and i just don't get it yet, or it's a really rushed half-finnished and very incoherent demo.. i guess, for me, time will tell. untill then: talk to the pig.

I enjoyed it, but I think it's one that you have to watch more than once. which is getting to be the case for the great demos.

Looked better at home than on the bigscreen, but it does suffer from the usual visualice-demo-problems.. static scenes with primtive/poor animation.. (the thing falling to pieces looks plain silly, just like the "nucluear explosion") ... visualice is a great 2d graphician but a technically mediocre 3d modeller. There, I said it.

Oh, and it was quite eclectic. The orange/red stuff felt particularily misplaced.

Still, in some intangible respect this looked like a step in some sort of right direction.

Acts a bit like faded memories: looks better when viewed at home than at the party place. I like Visualice's style and I think it's a good enough for a thumb. Though, it didn't give me any vibes during the compo... maybe I was just too drunk :P

There's one part of farb-rausch that constantly evolves, improves and innovates to create new concepts and ideas. Then there's visualice, who does the same things over and over and over, and has been doing so for more than half a decade now (yes, it's been that long).

This is not a bad production per se, and I like the style of visualice, or at least I used to. It's just that it's probably not a demo that i will return to and watch again simply because there's nothing about this demo that distinguish itself from the other visualice productions.

So basically what I'm trying to say is if you're gonna continue to feed us the same things demo after demo eventually we'll throw up and end up hating the shit, and you're dangerously near that line already.

In 2002 you hit first place at Assembly with Liquid Wen, the year after that you ended up at place 12, and this year it's 14.

it doesn't take a rocket surgeon to see that this is not a good spiral, so get off it now and try to surprise us the next time, meanwhile I'm gonna pretend that this demo doesn't exist.

completely underrated. there seems to be some sort of fashion in whining on "oh it looks sooo visualice etc...". In fact this demo is just beautiful. If you like "elements" or "liquid wen" you just have to love this. It seems that Visualice left the typical demoscene-taste too far behind by now.

The place of the demo shows it's value perfectly. This time visualice's design not work. Maybe he choose the wrong tune i don't know and objects looks simple too.

Spin is damn right. I have watched this demo about 6 times now and I'm still totally amazed by each scene!

It's so imaginative and unique, it has depth and feeling and atmosphere. WHAT THE FUCK DOES IT TAKE TO GET ARTISTIC MERIT FROM THE SCENE???

I know I take the piss a lot but I'm being deadly serious. This demo is totally underrated and people don't even give it a chance. :(

The music is also incredible!!!!!!!!!!!! The first time I heard the track I thought it was bland but it grew on me and I love it. One of my fave demo tunes this year probably.

Much better than ranked. I just watched this. Then nuclear explosion was beautiful, as was the music. During the compo I felt like falling asleep (might've been the alcohol as well), but at home it really made an impression on me.

For once I find myself agreeing with ShaneTheWolf and A_Lee_N has a point too. Progression is one of the things that this prod lacks, it's lifeless and also didn't look or sound too good me - I think it deserved its rank.

The first thing I noticed about this production is it's fr-021, which is odd considering Visualice's first Farbrausch demo was fr-031 released last year at asm03.

There must be a reason for this lateness. Perhaps the Farbrausch crew was too busy with other projects, so an abandoned demo was ressurected just for asm04?? I dunno for sure -- just guessing.

But back to the demo at hand, I found this more interesting on a second viewing. The strongest point are the 2D graphics. I like Visualice's drawing style, and enjoy seeing such things in demos, so that part I like. However, as a whole it just didn't really bond together well enough for me.

021 recently got freed because the demo that was supposed to have that number was cancelled, and visualice decided to take it :)

This kindof sucked, but at the same time it has that nice visualice feel. Also a few scenes were really good, and the 2d rules as ever, so i guess this somehow pulls off a rulez despite sucking.

I have enjoyed a lot the old times with Haujobb and the magnific demos presented with Visualize. Yes, Visualize is very good and their graphic rocks a lot but now im seriously boring watching another time more and more 3d scene with paranoic movements en background images... you must improve a bit more and produce diferents demos than haujobb to impress me.
Good engine, good artwork, good music and greet ambient but no thumb this time :/

i never understood why he left haujobb, especially nowadays when i see demos like this from him.

I didn't like this one at the party at all. But I watched it at home and somehow it got me. Music isn't the best and most of the time the scenes are too simple with some weird color combinations. But still it has a unique mood. So piggy for this one.

I'm just itching for thumbs on the basis of namevoting :). But it's a show we've seen again and again. It's been done before and it's been done better imho. Music, graphics and color, fail to live up to the standards visualice demos have set with liquid wen. this style has already reached its peak. Time to move on.

Visualice, I do hope there will be a next one.

I didn't care much for the color scheme and it did seem to progress rather slowly without reaching any sort of conclusion or buildup. Kinda like a play that is all act 2 with no setup of the conflict nor any resolution to same. Piggy.

Farbrausch have lost their edge with this one. So utterly uninteresting that I found myself hitting escape. The first time I've hit escape in an FR demo. It's as if they just couldn't be bothered.

Mind you, I guess demos are easy with werkzeug and they can be cranked out daily. I think having a "demo making tool" kind of defeats the original purpose of demos. To get my respect, each demo Farbrausch releases should be a demonstration of some new features or abilities in Werkzeug, not just "another object show made in Werkzeug".

Forgot to mention: the art is really nice in this, even though the demo as a whole kinda blows.

i've finally made up my mind about this; incoherrent mess ;(
almost every scene in this demo could've been a beautiful demo, basically all by itself. put together like this it just gives you a headache :/
now i'll go watch deleted scenes again instead...

I just can't believe how low this is rated. I love this demo and it broke my heart to see it dropped down to 11th at the party. One of the best from farb-rausch.

All the scenes are really well thought out and this oozes quality. I like the anti-war theme and the saddening atmosphere. The only complaint I have is that this looks very much like it's done by a graphics guy with a ready demo engine - no custom crafted effects.

Visualize is just... impressive.

Ok, after watching the rest of the Visualice prods (and totally disliking most of them), i must say that this one's not bad at all. It is not totally abstract, it has got some handpainting, and though the musik sounds a little repetitive, it has its fabric and progression. And, most importantly: not the typical visualice color scheme. (phew)

btw... thumbs up for the music! whoever Kicia is, we want more tunes from you! (I least I do).

I started rewatching the whole farbrausch's scenegraphy and found this demo unfairly deprived of attention. It's rocking both visually and musically. I often watch late fr's like fr-034 and I used to think that Visualice is talented but lazy, he just draws some abstract figures and re-combines them in different ways all the timeline. But in this demo he made a great job and I am pretty impressed. Well done Visualice. And the music is good too. Who is Kicia? Never heard of him. Some other group guy? Anyway, very good demo. I'm giving this a high mark.

Wait.. did I not thumb this up yet? Easily one of my favourite Farbrausch demos. I think Asm04 was the first big party I attended and I remember being completely blown away by this on the big screen and then wondering how the heck it only placed 14th. Asm04 was a big insight into how voting really works at parties.. and why it doesn't necessarily matter

Anyway.. killer music, great Visualice graphics and a wonderful warm blanket of dark ambience. Has dated a little (lo-res pixel work..) but I still love it
