Now *that* was amusing and entertaining. Not to mention beautiful and with a killer soundtrack.
brilliant and different. suggestion to all that haven't got it yet: watch it multiple times to see more details and nice ideas! and for once a demo that's not made after the music but a soundtrack that's made after the demo.

I don't really see why 'the code is lacking'; maybe it is, but you probably couldn't tell if it was. Good programming does not show off by wobbling 3D objects, procedurally generating a load of crap or replaying dead simple 3D scenes. And believe me, I've done that before :)

Really, not everything that has no 3D has no code either. Although I wish they had used some acceleration since some scenes could have used more than just 20-25 FPS. Still, technically well done.

A joke demo is a demo that jokes at demomaking by beeing more or less intentionally (rather more than less) bad. That's the usual result, maybe one day we'll be able to make demos that make fun of ourselves without being garish and stupid.

Kudos for loading your demo events from an xml (those guys are loaded!) and for proving once and for all that creativity can make the difference (which can beat your computer)
As for me a joke-demo does not necessarily mean something that's more joke than demo but (in this case) a very well-made demo with lots of humour I'd still call it one.

feh. The visuals were simplistic and not terribly interesting. I thought 85 dollars / mandarine was a much better execution of a demo in this style. This does try to tell a story, but even falls flat there as its missing the essential elements of a story beyond the fact that its a linear narrative. The music also just felt harsh here and didn't work with the visuals like it does in b10 / satori.

If it had a point, it didn't come across. If it was fresh, it didn't age very well. If it was made to be funny, it should have had some humor in it. It's not all bad, music needed production but was entertaining. Some mucking about with random 2D is cool and it wasn't made in an afternoon. If it were funny all would be forgotten.
