Its pretty boring, effects are nothing special. graphics are bad. maybe you could say good for a first try.

there are enough free sources, tutorials, helping hand, documentations etc out nowadays... there really isn't any reason for such an ugly prod.
even for the first one.

PigPen sir, yes, there are a lot of free sources and tutorials nowadays, but as you can see, the level is quite harder...
(and the sceners tolerance in front of newbies quite average, as I can see...)

these guys just try to do something and I think they are hopping to get some 'interesting' feedback to do better next time, not these agressives and useless comments.

PigPen: You should download the diskmag "Pain" (the latest one) and read the article about "Being Someone". You could really learn something from it ;)

no. if you try to get the point and not the meaning, then you'll find that around 50% of my comment consists of hints to do better. BESIDES: your feedback was? i can't find any in that useless comment.

zez: to actually be someone you must at least have an own opinion. i had one, where is yours? and oh, being someone means respecting each others in personality and opinion, too.

there is a difference between commenting a prod and commenting the dudes behind it. face it.

whats wrong with you? Those guys asked you do not flame them. But almost all of you strated to shout: "suxx, ugly prod, boring" etc. I think we should tell to newbies their mistakes (technical or design/gfx). Or you can only say "suxx/rulez"? Can you catch mistakes and give to people who are trying to STUDY REALLY good advices?

What's the point of releasing a "demo" and posting it on OJuice, pouet etc if you only want people to say "yeah, that's nice for newbiews"? It simply ISN'T. Hell, there are better effects in NeHe's tutorials, and all this "we didn't use timers" stuff is already about double the typing work it would've taken to change that.

Well, we don't want everybody to say "It's nice for newbies". We just wanted to post up something we have made, something we never had done before. I just can't understand why this "release" could start so much "fighting". It's just a simple release!!! We also posted it up to get some feedback, and many have sent us that, and to say the truth, it's simply amazing how much you can learn from them!! But what can we learn from: "This suck, ihan vitun paska, oh BOY this suck, pyllystä...??" maby only a new language called finnish, and that we suck?!!
We are making "demos" as ryg called it, becouse we think it's cool, and fun! Not to be on the top!!!

There are many ways to send feedback... you can begin you're comment with "it suxx..." or "you should..."
but for a first prod it's not bad !!!

Ermm, btw, I know a few coders who release demos without having a clue about correct timing. :P

a *good* timing audio/video synchronization system is not trivial.

Nice galaxy scene!

The first effect (cube) was alright for about 15 seconds, but it stayed onscreen for many minutes without any variation in movement. (Although some colour changes did happen later.) Next was a small globe that did next-to-nothing, yet it was shown for something very close to an eternity. Finally I got to a very very slow moving tunnel with very very very very slowly zooming credits. At this point I hit 'esc' and went on with my life. Finally, the music is about as static as the demo.

i can't honestly give a thumbs up to this demo, because of the quality, but i surely would at least for the effort, for a first demo it's not that bad, it's only that some people are simply too dumb ...
btw the galaxy was nice, i wish the camera would have done a little flight around it ...

as i said, overall this demo is not so bad, at least better than some of my prods :)

oh well i finally gives it a thumbs up because i really like the fact that you released this demo as is, without waiting for a party (competition sucks) ... now it's up to you to prove to the dumb people that you can do something better ...

A rather horrible little demo this here... The music sucks, half of the fx don't work (atleast on my super-excellent 200mhz+voodoo3 machine:D) and there is absolutely no design or coherence at all...

Still, a first prod is a first prod. Keep trying guys! (You can't go anywhere but up from here so everything you make after this is bound to be better:D)

This demo use some effects the crap-ass voodoo card doesen't support. I have a voodoo card too :/
