didn't find main class or something...

Duckers: Give me ONE good reason for making demos and you can't say that it's because it's fun or that it's a good and funny way to learn programming because then you just answered your question to pinhead. ;-)

@ekoli and @shadez: which java version is installed on your system? i just ask, because others do not get the error.

pinhead: I use 1.5.0 but have tried it with 1.4.2 and still get the message. Well, perhaps it wasn't meant for me to see this. :-)

@ekoli: mmmh... i've checked the jar file and think everything needed is in it, even the main class. maybe the problem is that the whole demo was compiled with version 1.4.1_05-b01 and the code doesnt run with 1.4.2+?!? let me check this. btw: which j3d version do you use?

pinhead rest easy now, you can stop your search! I've reinstalled to os the other day and forgot to install java 3d. It's all my lousy mistake!
The demo felt nice, runned smooth and looked ok. The music wasn't exactly my cup of tea. A nice effort and good luck with your future releases!

Why are there always such incompatibilities with Java? I had tried some months ago to code my first effect in java, uploaded it in a site and sent the link to some friends. Some of them couldn't open it. Sometimes neither can I. I don't know what's wrong. I wish there exists a tutorial of how to make a Java applet compatible :P

Hehe... Java doesn't really have incompatibiities, but it's even though your code might work there could still be something you should include. If you don't do that then the applet will become buggy, and might sometimes not even work...
Anklebiter: there are 2 event models, an old and new one. New one is convenient, but unless you want to requiere a recent Java version, you can't use it! Same with UIs. It gets a bit easier when coding a demo applet because you don't need a UI and only need a few events, but nontheless... Then again microsoft has its deviations and its version is compatible with very old Java only.

Optimus: every Java2 book. Besides, if you use, say Java-TinyPTC and nothing more, you can be sure that you are compatible. Then again, there is SUN jar and MS cab for packaging - which you all don't need if all you do is 1 or 2 classes.
