One of the best CPC demo! The graphics are original, so is the music, which is perfectly synced. As for the effects, they are very well done. I loved the Starstrike 2-like tunnel! The rhythm is also excellent. Nice to see Offset go back to demo, with an impressive effect. Congrats to the whole team!
Huge slap in our faces, nicely done! Have to wtach this again and angain!
j'en perds mon clavier!
Nice pacing and... well, everything. :) Nice.
Nice one, smooth and fast animation, good synched music and properly refined artistic value.

Over far too soon.

Super style
Great
epic
smooth and awesome!
Wonderful demo! Great ideas and perfect execution, that's very impressive.
I'm speechless. Well I'm not! :D Excellent rhythm. Sync with fx is great. Recycling(?) 3D-tunnel in such a way is great too. Mixing magic raster and rubber bar (with shadow!) is a nice idea. Good idea also that infinite zoom with variant (and text/equalier as foreground !). Rotating voxel(?) does its job : impressive and big. Ascii-art is over-the-top (what a style @Rexbeng !). Length is perfect for that show. Also a team work with quite a few guys. And no text (I love that).
Love it. So nice to see CPC stuff like that in 2024
Si cette prod ne fait pas au moins un podlium, je mange mon stock de disquettes 3 pouces !
Really impressive work, everything is perfect !

Nice CPC prod. Nicely executed!!
Perfect!
Amazing stuff... if a little short! (^_^) Definitely the right direction CPC demos should be going in!
Great AMSCII, great VRAM routines, great sync with great music!
[NOTE: We need more AMSCII entries in TEXTMODE compos in future demoparties!]

Beautiful demo, guys. Seriously good effects. Love it.
Amazing style and flow. Very fresh!
One of my favourites in the compo.
One of my favourites in the compo.
Congratulations!
Refreshing, well deserved winner :)
I simply adored this compo. I loved the rhythm, the love of finesse, the detail and the quality of the sequences. No graphic or other artefact disrupted this world of perfection. Everything is right and controlled.
Naturally, the homage paid here to the hero that has driven me for years, and that I share with Hwikaa and Ixien -Ghosts'n Goblins- was very much appreciated! You've won the competition, and it's richly deserved. Well done champions. See you soon for the release of the game!

Cooooooioool! ;)
Really amazing!
Nice one!
Quality!
very enjoyable and good flow
Ace prod, very good job!
Everything is at a high level!
Once again, rexbeng gives a memorable style to a production, together with Zik, the music of the 1st part is terrific!
Congratulations to Toms for his inspiration/evolution on zooming effects, magic-rasters and splitscreen-based 3D objects/tunnel. Nice surprise from Offset, still innovating with this big 3D Arthur!
Kudos to the whole team!

What a show.
Awesome.
stylish!
well done
Amazing!
Very very nice demo. Some killer effects here & a great flow. Intro tunnel & rotating Arthur are the best peaks in the demo IMHO. Quietly focusing on the job pays off!
really cool effects, soundtrack & overall flow
This was good. :)
Really impressive and fun ! Well done !
DANG!
Effects galore. I don't know much about CPC, but this flowed well and had trippy music.
Impressive old school stuff!
Awesome demo! Fast paced, banging soundtrack (really great drums), impressive effects (the shadowed twister above the waves of Taizo Hori look-alikes is my favourite) and a beloved main character. Well deserved winner!
that was something :)
I think everything has been said already. Really tight stuff!
Great demo !
Thanks for this wonderful demo and great tribute to the game.
I love your clinic demo and Mandelbrot, rubber and 3D effects.
Good job and amazing gfx.

This was the shining star of all of the compos. Nice subtle graphics and good flow make the few parts stand out really well. Its awesome to see a such a fresh release on CPC again; its been a while! Well done!
Good job ! 👌🥇💪
A bit short, but all screens are extremely polished.
Best demo in the compo and a joy to watch! Great use of the x-rotator-bar-thingy too, better than what I managed to do. :)
Super nice, lovely music, design and synch!
Good job ! 👌🥇💪
cool
c'est mignon ...
Very nice and well paced prod !
OK!
Nice synchro with music, nice colour scheme, nice style of gfxs, impressive tricks for the effects ! Just missing a little bit of scenario to introduce a part to another part. Arthur's crip-walk is fun
Yet another incredible reminder that the CPC was criminally overlooked back in the day!
Excellent. Nice effects, gfx and sound.
very nice
Wow, this really pushed the boundaries of the CPC! Deserved winner!
Really cool! Wasn't aware of AMSCII and it works so well.
Also good use of the CPC palette for the raster effects!
Also good use of the CPC palette for the raster effects!
👀 What a blast! Wonderful tune, amazing classy gfx, rock-hard code. Toms tooks his skills in "direction" to even new heights in order to serve fantastic FXs. Love the depth: simple but effective camera movements, fake hard-sprite, shadow... How cool!
Voxelish routine is sick, "punch in your face" as Offset himself would not have said. With a great twist.
Zik's art is delightful. Both composition-wise and regarding the sounds he manages to get out this poor AY. Those drums!
Thank you for this superb intricate work!
Should have ranked higher.

An absolute blast, especially in front of the bigscreen.
This was an instant win for me when seen on the bigscreen <3 toms & rexbeng = cpc heroes!
Very Niiice!
This demo is such a beauty. Nice effects with transitions. The AY tune is a masterclass.
Thumb up guys.
Thumb up guys.
Fantastic flow! That 3D Arthur was next level. So was the x-rotator tunnel. So well done! Also loved the character-mode-logos. Two thumbs up!
10 print "very cool demo !!!"

Wow! Sure that wasn't a mislabelled Atari ST demo? So good.
Now that was a show! I recognized some of the effects from other demos, and wondered how you pulled them off here!
absolutely amazing - haven't seen anything better in years on the CPC
Rulez a lot for an 8-bit system
nice prod ! i like it :)
Impossible not to LOVE this one!
Great great demo
Bravo et chapeau bas à toute l’équipe

great stuff
toms wrote a making-of in the incoming 3rd issue of 64 NOPs, a magazine dedicated to the Amstrad CPC/Plus and z80 lovers.
This demo shows only fullscreen effects, done by mixing hardware technics & software, with very smart (and difficult to do) details. The transition between the effects is fast, to keep the flow. The music is dynamic and perfectly synchronized with the highlights.
Can you change the screen/display address mid scanline on CPC? To any address?
That or some effects seem to change the display address per scan line, but also drawn a bunch of stuff then restore the buffer.
Impressive prod!

Not exactly. There are plenty of constraints (the CPU time it takes to address the video contraoller chip + constraints on the the available addresses for that purpose.
However, I'm pretty sure such kind of trick has been used to display the 284x372 logo and the following volume meter (see around 2min in the linked youtube video)
Then most effects changes the display address at most once per scanline, but I doubt there are save/restore buffer stuff. Let's wait the making off
The effect that puzzles me the most is around 1'35 with the twister casting g a shadow on the wobbly zoomed background.
Not knowing much about the CPC limitations and hardware, esp how many cycles it take to change the display address which means that the display could be pointing at an "in between" address with the high byte from the next one and low byte of the current/previous one, or vice versa.
Rather than save/restore buffer, I suspect some generated code that copies pixels of the wobbly background left and right of the twister buffer, including the shadow, then change the display address to point to the wobbly background, then change to the next twister line.... But that must be very tight CPU wise.
Looking forward to reading the making of
