Great visuals in the Cocoon tradition. I really liked the scene with the guy walking and becoming lines etc.

We can't get enough of cocoon demos
I forgive the missing skull :D Great demo!
That was beautiful!
Ntsc : this one ruled hard … should have ranked higher.
one of the most uninspired and conceptually hollow PC demos in recent years. same brand as "Bring It On" from three years earlier, but this time it doesn't even look good or maintain same kind of a menacing aura. in particular that man walking mocap is such a tired cliché at this point that it actively annoying me. not to mention all of the general visual artifacts and shortcomings (low res moon texture, lack of almost any and all shadows, etc.).
it's the music in large part that dictates how a demo ultimately turns out though. granted i haven't yet really liked any of Tineidae's soundtracks all that much (although "Shunting Yard" is quite fine for the first half or so), but this one felt particularly grating and monotonous in a severely unpleasant way. even just from visceral enjoyment viewpoint the mixing and sound design are way too "nasal" and congested for their own good.
there were several wonderful demos both before and after this in the compo, yet i feel this is the one that will be forgotten by far the quickest.

...but boy does it run like a pig for what it shows...
Now somebody will say "yeah right this is full raytracing with 100 times bouncing etc etc, this is as fast as it can get"!. Maybe, but the problem is that it doesnt LOOK like something that cant be done otherwise. It looks like something from 4-5 years ago (technology wise, see Flt demos), but at a quarter of the speed it should be getting to.
Besides that, very beautiful if not slightly disconnected.

somebody call this hollow? I wish I was that hollow!
This was great! The logo sequence had the perfect mood (as in most cocoon demos) and I quite liked the humanoid walk cycle before all the blobs appeared. The boolean effect with those platonics was my favourite though.
@noby - grumpy. watch it again!

great prod!
I thought this was pretty good, and let's face it most of us would love to reach this standard - even if it felt kinda unpolished this time.
Hyde: i did watch it several times today while thinking how to put my feelings exactly, and my opinion just started to turn more and more negative… sorry, grumpy as i might be (although i try not to be) this just really rubbed me the wrong way :)
Different look, same content. Still good, still love it. The compo had so many excellent entries, so placing 6th matches with my brain.
feels kind of a fastmade compofiller, does it's job in that regard with a few good looking scenes, missing a lot of the expected polish though.
Consistent visuals, a pretty distinctive style, capable soundtrack, but missing that "something" to make it really pop out and be memorable. Worth a thumb but didn't exactly blow me away.
Nice one guys! I liked it more compared to some others :-)
It's very Cocoon, for better and for worse.
i quite liked the colours and the curves
Doesn't get me. Wasn't bad. Looked good. Just didn't get me.
I liked it. Not a lot, but enough for a thumb.
solid, I miss a better connection between the visual & the music
I wasn't quite convinced about the slightly cartoony purplish overflow/segmentation bits in the first part, but it worked better when matched with the walking wireframe man. I'm going to substr quote gargaj
"let's face it most of us would love to reach this standard" :)

The usual Cocoon quality.
Ace.
repeat: Preacher
Enjoyed the boolean shapes and the walking with squiggly lines scene.
Nice
Nice demo!
this might be one of those instances where a group name influences the expectations, at least for me. yeah kinda unfair. but those colors ... and it feels bland (even after reading the comment that it is unpolished). i'll pigg it and watch a better cocoon demo instead :)
I do not hope Cocoon died in Vain!
