Lost Amiga songs

category: music [glöplog]

Hi there ^_^

I'm here again with lost songs. I searched my old pre-Amiga era tapes and found there songs:

http://factor6.ic.cz/temp/unknown/amigamix.mp3
http://factor6.ic.cz/temp/unknown/amigasong2.mp3

The first one is an ST-01 mix, but I don't know which MOD is it (or from what demo, if any). There are many old ST-01 mixes, but I can't find this one. Sorry, the volume in the first seconds of the MP3 is overboosted. It's fixed after a few secs.

The second song I'm not sure if it's MOD or not, or if it comes from some demo.

Could you help, please? O.o

@factor6:
first one sounds very familiar, like I had listened it 100x times somewhere in late 80ties. :)) can't promise that I'll find it any time soon (or ever!), but will keep my eyes on it when browsing old stuff. there are still bunch of floppies that I wasn't able to read out, but got myself a kryoflux recently, so having high hopes for that.

can't say that I ever heard the second one.

The first one might be from Sound Dimension / AFL.

I heard Amiga module on a tape, tune about Commodore.
what is a tune name and where to find one?

Røly, really nice find!!! Can't recall the intro, but "papermix" definitely rings a bell.

Also, notice that in factor6's version, one or more instruments are exchanged with st-01, instead of the originals (trouble with ripping the song?). You can hear it even at the beggining, in the second tune (that starts around 0:23).

@Røly: great find! Thank you!

Still seeking for the the second one (with guitars)...

It probably won't help you, but the second one reminded me of this module, sadly there is no author attributed (modland also lists it under "unknown"). The style is similar, although that might also just be because of the samples and "it's rock music".
@Saga yeah I know that one. It's not that, but similar. However the samples are not the same, just similar. I guess. Never mind... I'll try to look for it in ModLand or somewhere. Maybe one day I find it.

The guitars are the same, the drums are different. In theory you could try downloading every ProTracker/SoundTracker MOD from ModLand, run it through Mod Library (I really need to continue working on it...) and search for the guitar sample names. Will probably give hundreds of false positives, but if you're that despearate... =)
