Mine was a 386 sx/40 with 1 mb ram and 40mb hard disk.

First machine I ever used was some amber screen mini-computer (remember those?) at my dad's workplace. It used 10" floppies and I think was connected to the University of Alberta's network. (And through that, perhaps even the internet??)

It was intended for engineering, but I used it to play a nibbler-style snake game made out of text characters. The OS was CP/M, methinks.

The first computer in my household was a TI 99/4a. (Interestingly, we still didn't have a television at the time.)

The first computer I purchased myself was the good ol' Amiga 500 in 1989. I soon upgraded to 1 meg RAM and bought the revised Agnus so I could boot into PAL mode to watch demos without NTSC compatability bugs.

Commodore 64 with a 1541 and couple of Quickshots. That was something like 1987.

But when I was 7 my mum and dad promised me a real computer "with keys". That sounded like a really crap computer in my opinion. So I politely explained that I didn't want one of those, I wanted one with buttons and a joystick instead.

I got a C64 in the end and loved it!

The first time I have used a PC in the family, it was an XT with Hercules if I recall well..

First was a C64, that was relegated to the attic by a Tandy 1000 TL/2 (which still works). I learned basic on the Tandy, and wrote the only demolike program on it... I think it's up in the attic now, replaced by a Dell 4560

My first back in 1983 was a VZ 200 (pretty noname), quite short after this a TI 99/4a (hello Thom ;)). Next (and last before switching to PC) was the CPC 464 with green monitor.

The fisrt one was a c64. I also had something called Dragon32 which was a wierd machine. Hopefully I will never meet one of those again. ;-)

I later switched to Atari ST, then Falcon 030, and finaly PC...

I got a Sharp MZ-721 for Christmas 1986. The machine was a rather crude Z80/3.5/64k machine with a built-in tape drive, 40x25 text display with fixed font and a PC-speaker-like sound. 286/10 in 1991 and after that several PC's and non-PC's.

sidenote: i never did anything with it besides playing uh, superfrog i believe it is :) and some other games.

zx80 i think it was called, then later a vic20, c64, amiga (most of the models incl the horrible a600) and now pc.

Superfrog are the rules. long live emulators (yeah i still play it, i admit it).

As a kid, I only had consoles like Philips Videopac (which I still might have somewhere), some Atari (maybe 2600, but I'm not sure), and of course NES (I still play games with it occasionally). My first computer was 80MHz 486DX with awesome 8 mb of ram, stereo soundcard(sb clone) and 80mb hard drive in -94 iirc :)

atari 600xl with 1010 tapedeck. the 1010 was simply incredible, while it loaded big games you could go downstairs and make yourself a cup of tea, drink it and then go back to see if no errors had popped up.
also the play-knob had a tendency to break ;)

an excellent machine for the rest, esp with diskdrive.

ZX81, C64, XT, Amiga 600, 386sx-16, Amiga 1200, 486-66, P133, XP1800+.

c64 only for games, a 8086xt pc and a gameboy.

i started to scene on my pimp ass 486dx33 in 1992(oh man, it was BADASS hardware in that time :))

My dad bought us an Atari 520ST with Outrun for christmas in the early 90s. The power cable was broken when we opened it on Christmas day so we had to wait until the shops opened again to get a new one.

A color CPC 464 in 1985, then a 6128, followed by countless pc upgrades up until today.
