Two thumbs up for this CLASSIC video demo. Download now.
It's a classic no doubt, i think jesper and mikael made that when they worked at some danish tv-company, but i might be wrong aswell... :)

note : size = 72.871.166 = 71 Mo, in mpeg1
eheh, Silents DK has invented newschool in 1991 :-)
see the advert at the end for Hardwired ;)
a good video production, with 10 years later effects
if you can, download this piece of archeological demo art :)

very good :) I also like to see all the old Amiga video effects that used to show up sometimes in usual TV broadcasting..
yeah, i like see this old newskool dezin stuff :)
Saw it first time at the info desk at Mekka 2002 - simply amazing for its time :)
yes! amazing for its time. !!
brilliant!!
kick ass!
yup yup
wow!!
I really LOVE IT!!!
I still keep the VHS tape I brought back from Assembly 93 with this masterpiece in it...
A bit incoherent at times, but it really rules, it would be great even if it had been released later and the music kicks ass.
yes
rejv
rocks. with the best demotune ever
Wow,. an old wild video that looks like Amiga generated demo inspired or something!
Quite
Thumbs up for this milestone!
wow, finally saw this for the first time, amazing stuff!
This truely was a very great piece of work! Kyd/Balle yep yep ;)
Where can I get a copy of this?
The crowd went wild when they showed this on The Party 1. I remember standing there not being too impressed and thinking "hmmm, if they're gonna do a demo on a tv station's graphics equipment, anything is possible. That just takes the fun out of demos."
But in retrospect I must admit this was quite a cool and groundbreaking demo.

Well, its kind of so-so... The music itself is pretty good, but most of the scenes are basically cuts from old cult movies.
Jesper Kyd kicks ass, so did this wild. Setting new standards is something which keept the demoscene always alive. To bad, they've fucked up with the where/were.
Quote:
Global Trash II has been shown at computer conferences all over Europe and has been shown on MTV Europe several times. It helped give birth to a new scene called WILD Demos in '91, and today the WILD Demo Scene includes many demo groups. Global Trash II was the first video demo to hit the demoscene, setting a new standard in demo's and videos.
This is some cool shit. The music is excellent, the effects are brilliant and it's just so... demoish. Hell yeah.
never gave it a thumb up, my mistake: Kyd & Balle rule.
A MASTERPIECE...could someone tell me where i can DL the Kid's mod?
I don't find it anywhere....

Very nice.
Yes!
The mother of all wild demos. Still roxx today.
Nice one!
some of the effects still beat what's seen in realtime PC demos nowadays, maybe not technically, but look'n'feel wise
Silents simply kicks ass! Pivotal production.
pretty cool. too much video though
this was kickass for it's time.. and it still rules
Has anyone tried to remake this demo in realtime with modern PC equipment? It seems like it ought to be possible now. (comments about blasphemy aside)
i think if i saw it back in 1991 i'd have wet my pants!! this rules so much! the feedback effect, the textured face, the landscape.. even the video grabs had their moments.
kyd has done better music imho and compared to some of the best modern pc demos it's not that special.. that's my only negative comment..
they indeed discovered newskool in 1991, wtf!?

demoscene science.
A Classic!
?
you can never go wrong with Kyd / Balle.
The opening piece of this soundtrack just kicks so much ass!
Great
too bad i just saw it the first time today.
i´m so sure i would have loved it even more back then !
AWESOME !

Wow. I only found this today!
Real time demo wannabe, 1991.
I guess it's impossible to get an higher quality video today, right? :)

wow. james cameron already did impressive stuff back in 1991 ;)
I assumed I'd already commented on this. A true masterpiece with a great feeling.
This is what the Wild category is all about!
This is what the Wild category is all about!
First Wild Demo in history (released at The Party '91). Don't like this category but in this time it was a revolution...
Killer!
'I need something stronger'
To think about how much this production has done for the demoscene is mindblowing, and then pair that with Hardwired released around the same time makes it unreal.
This is legendary.
Shame on me for not thumbing this up until 18,5 years after I saw it.

Perhaps not so mindblowing nowdays, but still a nice one.
Hmm I think I still have this somewhere
The music by Jesper Kyd is awesome (visual too of course).
It roxxx! Simply amazing!
If I recall correctly, Michael Balle worked as a visual artist at Nordisk Film in Copenhagen back in 1991.
And this video-demo was made on the Silicon Graphics computer at his workplace

Amazing! Love the soundtrack.
This blows my mind.
It also second whoever suggested a realtime PC remake, would be interesting indeed.

Words cannot describe how much powerfull was sound from this video
thanks for the remastered version and the live version! this demo is surely as powerful as it was back then.
demoscene milestone
Very ambitious for 1991, especially the first couple minutes. Music could be better but then again it's just a style I'm far from a fan of.
very entertainning
i forget the thumb :)
Great!
except for the random movie sequences at the end, this still rocks..
yep
I like it
Help is on the way!!!
saw that live at the party, best part was the music ;)
how the fuck did they make this in 1991...
Pretty amazing with the technology available. The movie clips pulled down the impression a bit but it's still an ace production.
This is really a video-demo and this is very well mastered especially considering it was made in 1991.
Really nice, one of the first wild demos have seen this a bunch of times but also forgotten too thumb it up, last time in the Edison demoshow this year
Awesome Amiga videotoaster and music stuff etc <3

video demo
Great show, even though it could have done without the movie footage. Truly impressive result considering the hardware and software of that time :)
Rocks
Just amazing, even today. It's very similar to what Monolith did with their early FMV for their games and personal company promotion stuff.

although it looks a bit unfinished, it was everything a video demo should be. no stupid render stuff. no "how we got to the party" home video. it's a real demo with real effects that were impossible in realtime at that time.
of course there was render stuff and video sequences, and the second half is filled with movie sequences, but it's done in a demo style, and there is much more than just that.
my first thumb up here.
