For the music it was the first time using Oidos, mostly written on Linux! The quantization phase and some small parts are done on Windows.
I have asked Blueberry to include it in the next release of Oidos as an example song.

Thanks for watching :) youtube is now available. It was really fun trying to crunch my 64k framework into 16k, winging it with animation packing and custom shader minifiers :D Real tough compo this year, pretty happy we scored as high as we did!

I like some of the textures and the raindrop effects on the ground and camera lens. Music... wasn't very good, even for a 4k (I guess due to inexperience with Oidos?). I'm also not sure what's going on in the demo. Some objects cast (wrong) shadows and others don't. The sense of scale isn't properly conveyed (e.g. when the dragon things fit inside the sewers but then become as thick as buildings). Not really feeling the polish here, tbh. It's okay for a 16k but I think it needed some more work to justify the size category, perhaps with slightly different priorities in mind. It could have confidently taken a top-3 spot in the 8k compo where I think it belongs better, content-wise.
I'm not sure where this jab came from or what Altair should be sorry for, considering Urbs Advena (that was what you referred to, right?) was kind of superior in most aspects—geometry, instruments, rendering, color choices and design in general—and did it in 12k.

The music I'm actually quite proud of, as I also hear from other musicians they like it very well and it can be quite difficult to get what you want from Oidos. And also I have managed to keep the pre-calc low (for Oidos) where others do not manage to do this.
And with music making the song sometimes has its own will haha and ends up as it will end up. I can only try again and see what I will come up with next time, maybe a bit more badass maybe a bit more chill and easy going. I will probably also try out other synths to see what I can come up with. Or I'll focus a bit more on coding, whatever I feel like :-)

Great for such size. Cool visual style, strong sound.
The visuals and music made me expect a moody, dark and rainy demo until suddenly the music turned into a hamfisted attempt at breakbeats with no-so-great instruments /o\ That completely ruined the mood for me, sorry.

Thx for the feedback dojoe, I will try something moodier next time and keep that mood ;-) Writing the intro of the music after the main part might have also not worked so well..
