Strangely I thought the previous rule of "one competing entry per author" still applied and was a bit sad to see the rougher round the edges "Coral Reef" take the place of "Romanesco 2". Glad I was wrong!

Sorry to be a dick, but this sucks. The colors alone is unbearable, and the fact that this brings absolutely nothing new to the table so many 1k-intros-with-fractals run-of-the-mill-years after we had the first of those, leaves me with no choice but to be a big dick and thumb this down.
See this as a motivational thumb (down) and hopefully you will bring something better and fresh to the scene - please :)

maytz: eh, sorry to disappoint you ;) this clearly is nothin new to you (i jsut quick checked your prods), but at the same time, it's done in JS, which eats more space than a normal binary. also, this gave rise to further optimization and lead to a boilerplate for webgl in under 512 bytes :Minishadertoy So, maybe the next JS 1Ks will be more impressive =)
@HellMood: minishadertoy looks cool - maybe I should try it out :)
Actually we got the webGl boilerplate down to 400-500bytes with a test.shader and sound synthesis. Let's see what people will build with this.
JS1K is not a demo competition: there is no time limit, the audience and 3-4 juries are more mainstream in a way. Romanesco was the best.JS1K prod this year. No doubt in my book.

I actually like the fact that even though it is user-operated it keeps coming up with good shapes. Perhaps not novel, but nicely done anyway.
