lsl: downthumbing for making use of multicore? i mean: would you rather like it better to have just one of 8 Threads at 12.5% and the rest idling around, while the demo renders in 20fps or sth? It may not be necessary to use multicore, but i say it´s a great addition to the code.

hardy: take f.e. "Heaven Seven", which did run perfectly on my 350MHz PII, add textmode-"renderer"... quad-core? srsly.
Love this music! Very great. Visually also quite nice, even though it features a tad too much detail, imho. That makes it look a bit messy overall.
Enjoyed it, although it's pushing the text mode res slightly too hard perhaps. Looks interesting technically, ray marching with motion blur? Can we have some technical details? Or, better still, a high-res offline render? :D
@ccr: Sphere tracing. I have a set of renderable objects with distance, shading and normal functions. The result is an R8G8B8 which goes through a textmode converter. The texmode data is either dumped into a console or rasterized and displayed in an OpenGL window. I have a separate tool for editing curves which exports curve data directly in static C vectors. For sync I use clock()*.001/BPM*60

I think you are getting it wrong all the time, it runs fast on a singlecoreCPU, so theres absolutely no NEED TO have any multicoreCPU, but it would be slower than on singlecores without adding code for multicore-functionality (divide computing power by number of HTT). And while at it i guess mu6k made use of having it anyway, adding optimizations for quadCores, thats why he recommends it.

Disturbingly slow at parts on a computer that should be able to do this a lot faster.
Definitely worth downloading and running. Youtube's encoding is pretty brutal on it.
Yup, it's a bit slow and "textmode by filter" is probably not what was originally intended by the creators of this compo, but the result is still pretty cool. Very smooth and likeable tune as well.

Haha, you can barely read a fullscreen logo even with it subpixelshifting :D Using text mode is silly, I bet this would look good even fullres. In other words, I want what Salinga wants ;)

Most high end looking text demo I ever saw :) Somehow the text resolution makes the brain interpret even more realizm compared to the hires render (rip english)
