great 64k!
Impressive!
I have fallen in love.. sorry Smash.. :)
Clearly a lot of work, but the music was rather weak and some parts seem very poorly executed. But an excellent idea and some REALLY nice scenes as well :)
monster. absolute monster
Great concepts, stunning scenes and an impressive execution all round. Rocks
Mega!
awesome
Awesome! Love the details
Was impressed. Thanx.
I love the style. Looks really impressive!
Massive!
All kinds of impressive - brilliant!
So much awesome. :)
I got tears in my eyes...
Oh Massive! Rocks!
Very nice production :).
not running smoothly on my system but looks amazing.
Breathtaking! I really love the detailed nature, great job!
what neon said
Fucking sick! Big Ups!
I've been thinking about doing a 64k like this for a LONG time. The first part seems a bit off, as the rendering can't really decide wether to be photo realistic or not - but it's just like it should be for 2nd part ofcourse.
you killed me boys, really, you killed me.
you killed me with STRAWBERRIES.
you killed me with STRAWBERRIES.
Beautiful but really the music made me sleep :(
WOW !!!
Captain <3 Cryptic
The part with the strawberries lighting up must be among the top three coolest things I've seen in a demo ever. Massive props.
Strawberries... Beautiful landscape... Wonderful Product :)
this is quite insane - those strawberries
Awesome :)!
Beautiful!!
really damn pretty. The opening strawberries are worth the thumb alone already!
Woooah, it's some amazing hard work there. Now Cryptic can finally get some rest for a while. ;P
How can this possibly be, HOW?!
:)
.
Thank you guys!
Nice.
what other said
This just looked sweeeet, also enjoyed the music <3
The rendering is superb and I think the camera work is much improved on previous productions, just needs some work on the narration and pacing to make that formula complete. The music was ok and fit well but not very exciting! Congrats on a much more well rounded prod!
awesome!!!
Awesome.
amazing
Looks nice but noone in their right mind would place windmills on the side of a mountain like that.
thumb up for streamkiller strawberries
ossom
Excellent modeling and rendering for 64k, for sure one of the highlights at this party.
64k is back!
what axel said. the first frame alone is an instant thumb up.
Really nice old school prod.
Wow, so fresh. Day turns into night very beautiful. Synth and music is also very good.
By the way, the overall mood reminds me classic Sunflower demo from 1997.
By the way, the overall mood reminds me classic Sunflower demo from 1997.
This made Revision-frission, for me. Thank you.
LED Strawberries!
this is awesome (maybe a bit long, but who cares)
superB!
Extremely boring but thumb up for rendering quality.
Good rendering with some naive points (don't make leaves wave if they cross walls...). The tune and the sounds are very 2002 but fit in the general mood.
Great rendering, however it missed to become a great intro... still a rulez.
What FooLman said...
just one word "BEAUTIFUL!"
1. Atmosphere
2. Convincing vegetation is seen far too rarely in demos considering the fact that it can be generated with rather non-complex algorithms
3. Manages to break the realism well (even though I'd have liked it to go somewhat farther with the breaking)

Jesus!
You go girl!
Impressive amount of work with textures and PP. Works really well. Ofcourse a big thumb up!
Impressive. Two years of work I hear, it really shows.
Awesomely impressive, refreshing change of scenery
great graphics
very nice!
wonderful prod!
Awesome! You guys are amazing!
Those strawberries with diodes are so sweet! :]
Those strawberries with diodes are so sweet! :]
really really nice!
sweet. really looks like you had much work. my full respect!
Soo Sweeeet !!
Thanks for the strawberries!
WOW!! This is soooo fucking beautifull !! Thank you, you made my day !! :-)
The atmosphere! The Plants! The Strawberries, man!
But why-oh-why did the grass have to clip through the windmill?
But why-oh-why did the grass have to clip through the windmill?
A demo that creates.
Hyvä pojat! :) Nice and soothing
Love the textures and meshes, not a massive fan of the music or camera, but still amazing work!
:(______) <- jaw
perdy
is nice
really beautiful
Very great graphics, very nice
Excellent coding! Too slow paced for my liking. Almost fell asleep.
Visyally in control.
Visyally in control.
bloody fantastic :)
As far as aesthetics goes, this 64k is very, very ghey. And yes, tech issues too, like clipping.
Top.
Simply awesome. Great music, great overall idea and loooovely scenes.
Much better than debris ;)
Fitting music.
discoberries \o/
Beautiful!
3dmark64k ;)
Lovely
thumb up because i love when something goes from ugly and boring to cool. the day part is ugly though. you really need to work on those colors...
Quote:
This completely broke the illusion for me too. "Really? NOBODY noticed this or cared to fix it?!" went through my head through the entire intro. :/Good rendering with some naive points (don't make leaves wave if they cross walls...).
really amazing
Very nice soft synth and music. Sweet.
And yes, complex vegetation rendering in combination with simple sine wave movements with clipping issues give an odd impression. Also, the awkward placing of the wind mills. Please fix those problems in the final version. :)

Marvellous prod
wow!
Despite the ugly and garish textures, this is so impressive and shows an immense amount of work and thought.
meh
insane amount of work. Nice concept and execution, could have been pushed further / or would have needed some kind of final punch.
Yeah, I suppose that those obvious mistakes are due to the rush and release stress. Please guys, take your time and polish this beauty up! We'll all love you for that.
Deserved to win. Not entirely polished but still looks very good for the most part. The music is well made to fit into the visuals, and not just randomly composed gibberish as with a lot of productions. The direction overall is great as well, loved the transformation.
Deserved winner!
excellent! But not a fan of the glow ribbons bit, or the grass growing through the bottom of the windmill.
The work put into this demo is evident. It's a really, really astounding 64k. The theme, the music, the visuals -- they're all there.
...But the clipping! Why!?
...But the clipping! Why!?
Nice little world you created in 64k, full of life.
One small problem and it's all the talk.. Bah..
Anyway, just wanted to say that the music is indeed awesome and fits perfectly. It gade me shivers during the compo and created just the right amount of tension in my whole body. Bestest!

so much content put into that little space. i'm really impressed
A proper final without all those glitches one could get rid of in a couple of hours and you have my thumb.
Just for that message you get the candy. <3
Looking forward to it. DO IT.
Looking forward to it. DO IT.
Couple strange parts in it but mainly pure beauty.
Cryptic: great stuff, looking forward to the final version :)
Best release by far at Revision!
Strawberries on diodes made the cry! Superb 3d work
Highlight of the party.
Highlight of the party.
Excellent. Needs a final tho.
rox
Awesome, loved the day/night transistion in both visuals and music!
Well done dudes! Party highlight!
yes.
Only view 3 scenes before de streaming crash... and i know that will be great ! Lovely fruit and colors. I realy like the music that make me remember Nicky Boom ambient :)
really impressive work!
yay even if this winning delayed the trip home
waiting for the final
now THIS is brilliant!
Mandatory thumb
I like the fact that you can speed this up on youtube because there isn't much going on anyway.
Awesome production, very impressive work and a well deserved winner of the 64k compo!
incredible !
a chalenger apeares.
(awesome job, guys!)
(awesome job, guys!)
FR is the old Approximate
Amazing. Really lush visuals not to mention the colours :D.
Would you like some cheese with those strawberries?
Awesome simulation of the natural world! sonnet -> the prophecy -> Gaia Machina!
Nice!
So very beautiful, thank you for this highly inspiring production!!!! ... was also cool to meet you at the party! :)
Really nice athmosphere with the music and the graphics. Really beautiful work!
Truly great work. Congratulations guys.
It looks very nice and impressive, but I'm not a fan of the slow pace at all.
Thumbs up for the technical aspect, though.
Thumbs up for the technical aspect, though.
Technically impressive, but the real stand-out is the design and what i would call "art direction" of it all. Beautiful colours, tons of details (the specks of dust or whatever they are that fly through the air really make a difference), good camera. Stunningly beautiful intro.
Yes, the clipping is a big issue. I noticed it at the party, and its the only real flaw i could name. Please, PLEASE make a final version! So many times people announce final versions but never actually make them, but if ever any prod really deserved a final version, this is it.
Best prod of Revision 2012 imho.

could've used a bit more speed, but damn this looks good.
Impressive visuals and refreshing atmosphere and music.
I always knew strawberries had lamps in them! :) Some very nice ideas and soothing audio. However object intersecion is gross. Right at the first frame I saw it (stem through leaf) struck me and the waving grass is really gross ;) Shifts it into piggy-position, but not enough ;)
Very nice indeed! Could do with a little bit more reverb to blend the pad sounds.
Reminded me of 3d Mark stuff. Okay, the bugs were a bit distracting, and it kind of falls flat on terms of the mood in the end.
very nice. i like the electric arcs on the windmills :)
a couple annoying visual bugs here and there but overall quite decent.
loved it, especially the atmosphere you've created there.. finally something with a nice n fancy storyboard/concept. :)
Amazing LoD usage. The depth cuing... pretty awesome. (I need a new gfx card!)
looks good
alexh: Where did you recognize LoD techniques? What's depth cuing? I'm just curious.
stunning visuals, and insane ammount of work.
i've found it a bit boring while rewatching during the prizegiving, but still a worthy winner!
and the blinking strawberries were epic.

Fabulous :)
This is really great. Tons of kudos from the kudo bus.
What urs said. Brilliant, stunning visuals, except for the grass-clipping
it felt like a clever alien abduction, transforming the life force into something else. I felt piggie for it, even though I wanted to thumb it up.
hot
mmm... tasty!
Top of the kitsch. but neat.
mmm ... fruity
deserve to win, no??
IMPRESSIVE. I want to be like you.
very impressive
The few graphical glitches are eclipsed by the great direction, good music and flashing strawbs. Congrats =]
Wow that was such a pleasure to watch! A real beauty.
+Best greets to Aardbei (strawberry) ever
+Love the detail
-The water, visible around the mountain with the windmills
-The mushrooms transform a bit less impressive than the rest
-The particle-streams seems a bit 'thight', it is hard to explain but it looks a bit like a brush is paining in the scene, instead of wonders of nature like the rest
Just forget everything I said. It is just because the rest is so nicely designed, it kinda makes you wonder how it would be if it was all perfect.
Congrats with an awesome realease, one of my personal highlites of the entire party. Bonus for making it run on my machine as well.

I also felt that. I think it would be cool if the particles would kind of dissolve, just slightly moving them in random directions after they are placed in the scene should do the trick.
I agree about the particle streams and mushrooms, but there's soo many other positive things to say about this prod!
Decent. It was ran and played choppy on my old ATI Radeon 4870 video card (512 MB) in old, updated Windows XP Pro. SP3 machine. :D
Oh and it need ants. :P
.
WOW. worthy winner! and runs flawlessly on my ATI machine \o/
Good tech!
lovely <3 awesome prod :) probably the best pc release @ revision this year.
however, i think you have some awesome stuff, but the grass intersecting with the windmill was a huge letdown.
however, i think you have some awesome stuff, but the grass intersecting with the windmill was a huge letdown.
really really nice 64k, was my personal favourite too :)
My two main problems with this prod is a) It's quite boring, and b) The rendering looks very unnatural and artificial (even before the machine takes over), and the same thing with the music. But a lot of stuff, so thumbs up for the amounts of work :-)
cool stuff. could of course be polished a bit more
Mythological. The stuff of dreams!
It's nice to see conceptual 64k's again :)
really nice and complex geometry, but music and lots of small glitches ruin the experience for me :|
A great intro.
Yes the rendering is unrealistic, but, did you notice there were disco strawberries, particles, robotic apples and so on ? ;)

made me feel like a child :D sweet.
the point pro wrote also disturbed me a little bit.

Absolutely insane.
Outstanding demo... Breathtaking as a 64k.
You win the internets.
O_o--b
Deserved win - and some really great looking scenes. However I would personally have left out a couple of scenes.
I really hoped that those mechanical thing introduced a complete twist to the story (ie. destroying everything or similar), but I guess 64k is a limit ;)
Oh, and those strawberries are of course MEGA awesome!

ace
let this thumb motivate you to do a final!
Live Footage :)
That's just beautiful! *________*
great! disco-strawberries!
applause after two seconds......
slick stuff!
i am curious who will be the first to give it a downvote...
a late thumb up, sorry. :)
Breathtaking design and amount of detail for 64k. Less (memory) is more (skill)!
Extremely awesome demo, except for one thing: The grass is visibly clipping through the windmill which sticks out like a sore thumb and ruins the overall experience for me. You should really fix that somehow in the final.
nice strawberries... but please some more polish here and there. For example the priority of fence or leaf. Was a little bit too "childish" at the end. But thumbs for size and the nice beginning!
this... just... woaaah. o_o
Wow! I miss these kind of 64k intros!
It reminded me a lot of the movie "Avatar", which I enjoyed just as much with my eyes as with my ears - so I did while this was running on the bigscreen. <3
Very beutifull nature scene!
disco strawberries!
so good
This is so absolutely crazy and wonderful! I love it and so does my 4y old son!
obvious thumb
Looks (ofcourse) even better in realtime and high res, but there are some serious artifacts on my new 7870. I have a hard time saying what it really is, as it's only on parts of the screen in some scenes, and I can't see anything special about those parts on the video. http://imageshack.us/g/28/gaiamachina201204202245.jpg/
Just great.
cool.
The scene is dead! this kill me! O_o
Haha, those artifacts are great. If I thought this looked like the twilight princess before, now I'm certain of it :)
Where's the final? It's almost 2 weeks after Revision :) I'm waiting eagerly!
nice!
Wow, so smooth... I feel totally relaxed.
Great atmosphere!
.
so 90's.
So 90's, indeed. Not really my cup of tea neither. But technical skill put in this prod worths a huge thumb up!
actually nice. thumbs for the gfx & ambiance.
Very nice.
I´m sill addicted ;) W O W !!!!!!!!
Those opening scenes are so incredible beautiful, while the later particle-ribbon windmill scenery comes along so cheesy all of a sudden. However, the strawberries kicked my ass :)
Very atmospheric, real state of the art!
i found it kinda boring
Great to hear that MeteoriK, also what Pit said :)
boring, but extremely beautiful!
Two reasons for this thumb: The quality-size ratio of this demo and MeteoriK's story.
Very cool.
Bravo!
Best Demka!
wow....daz iz fantastish!! yeahhh
Nice rendering, thumb up!
Any news on the final yet?
simply lovely :)
excellent!
(shamelessly stealing Salinga's)
well done, strawberries look amazing!
Cool shit for a 64k!
this is just fucking EPIC!
everything interacts at highest levels!
this would have won any demoCompo (not 64k!) aswell on any demoparty the last years! ;)

So beautiful I forgot it's a 64k.
Loving the pulsating strawberries!
64k? Good job!
If this had been a 10+ meg demo, it would not be that great.
If this had been a 10+ meg demo, it would not be that great.
visuals are stunning. but sorry.. the sleep-well-music destroyed it... i accepted some more musicpower at the middle, when the strawberrys start to glow... but i think the visuals have saved it.
Soooo.... final version? ;)
Even if you have no idea about the technical aspect (64K), it is a real beauty to look at. Love the night part and the music! So peaceful and calm! Could watch it on endless repeat...
what saga said
I want to see the final... That must have been the 30th time I've seen the grass intersecting the windmill :)
Very different and very enjoyable. It's evident that a lot of work went into this :)
Nice one.
this has such a beautiful and ethereal atmosphere about it, i wouldn't change a thing, i love it alot, sophisticated and relaxing.
lovely, very impressive. clipping is as pointed out a problem but only a minor one. well done!
nice
So sad to hear about Meaty's passaway :( I will remember him with the lovely sound in this prod. Thank you Meaty!
kick ass!
ossom!
The strawberry part still gives me shivers!
<3 it
Great demo!
Anyone else's antivirus complaining that it's malware?
rox!
One of the most impressive 64K ever, right up there with the demo "elevated". With the horse power of modern PC, it's actually amazing how much juice you can get out of 64K of code these days. I have a 2500K @ 4.7Ghz and a GTX 660 @ 1.27Ghz and this demo still lag at 15FPS on some occasions!!
yes, this was absolutely gorgeous at the party. brilliant visual effects and it keeps you watching until the end. Amazing!
Krank!
too cheesy
I want a final. I want it now. What's so difficult in fixing that windmill-grass-clipping problem? :)
a tremendous achievement, generally, but also especially for the size
SIMPLY AWESOME!
SIMPLY AWESOME!
Days from 2 years anniversary of April 2012 release. Ca we still hope for a final version...
As far as I could interpret what velo told me some months ago, the final is "really" "almost" "ready" ;)
Incredible landscape generators! How much time it took to code???
yeah still some little amd issues with the final or smth. looked fine on nvidia already. stop begging, you asshats. they're doing their best!
First for final! Still great, fixes most of the "flaws" in the party ver. Colors could still use some work, but nevertheless fantastic.
Yay for the final! I love you guys, here's my 2nd cdc: <3
fyi, runs fine at 800x600, low texture, on a 8800 GTX :) Only the circular stone scene runs a bit slow.
This final version is really a great improvement, and makes the intro better in many ways.

lovely <3 good work! And here is my 1st CDC ;)
Amazing work on the final version. Runs like a charm on wine with my 660Ti.
<3
runs perfectly on my quite average work PC, a very cool demo, cheers :)
Really really awesome guys! <3
awesome guys!!!
works fine on my machine at home. 2fps at workcomputer ;)

Great work, runs very smooth here. CDC'd.
Solid.
Nice work!
Well, umm, the picture changed in my original post to something rather random...
runs, looks, feels perfectly. meaty was only two weeks older than me. unforgotten in eternity
runs fine.
fantastic. thanks for making a final version!
clap, clap, clap.
The amount of additional work seems big.
Everything looks better, more volumes, better storytelling... Only the block filter for DoF bothers me a little.

Hum, couldn't get it to run. Tried a bunch of different settings, texture quality, low/mid/high, fullscreen, windowed etc.. AMD win7 64bit ATI HD5570.
Anyway, awesome that you guys actually made a final! Thanks for this, and I'll be waiting for a video capture :)

fine
Fitting tribute.
Thanks for the capture!
Yay for final! Goosebumps all over again.
Awesome final, with all the big criticisms addressed. Still won't run properly on my laptop but oh well. Imagine a second thumb here. :)
final runs fine on my 660 Ti. There seems to be various increases in performance and direction, so kudos for that!
Id thumb it up but I already have

<3 <3 <3
Just watched the side by side.. The attention to detail in both is fantastic, but the final is just so polished it sparkles. Also disco strawberries!
Nice job on the final!

Wow! Now that the final is released, you can have my thumb. :)
The final version makes a huge difference. I now love it! I really like the atmosphere and the flow, although it could have been nice with a climax. Also, your meshes are excellent. It's one of the best 64k intros of the last few years.
Looking forward competing again! <3

There are actually some aspects I prefer in the compo version as opposed to the final. Particularly the flowing grass by the windmills and the beginning of the winter lights phase.
But what gives, the intro is totally boss regardless.

nice demo
and the new location of the bar is...
I love it! And kudos for doing a final.
My 6yrs old daughter loves it too - it's her favorite demo! Maybe I should create an account for her and vote. :p

Nice demo , mostly a music
Starts of a bit slow but then it becomes incredibly awesome!

3 years later, still huge
strawberries trick was excellent
machine arms were boring and colors could have been less shockingly bright
machine arms were boring and colors could have been less shockingly bright
Wonderful landscapes, pure visual poetry in 64k. Love the soft, hypnotic music as well.
So much to like about this. Strong artistic vision and story telling, so much more than just a random collection of scenes. Technically there is some really cool stuff with the texture and object generation, scene creation and animation all in 64k. I just love this, one of the best 64k ever.
Nice and meaningful
LOL, jus realized, 2 years late, that the final is out! Amazing job! :)
I somehow never thumb this up.
Exceptional work!
I also like the somehow slower pace than usual demos.
It's great to watch over and over again and admire the amount of coding work put into it!

Thanks for the final! <3
Great concept beatifully done
This is so amazing - also emotional
I enjoyed this, awesome.
♥
massive, even after years. timeless achievement.
Brilliant
huge
just found out today you dont need to fill in a job application for a sceneID anymore so ill go over the other 5 million submissions later. This must be an all-time favourite definitely (i mean everybody knows debris ...)
Most insane Demo I´ve ever seen. Now in 1920*1080, with a 16:9 Monitor. Still can´t believe what I see. 64 KB ? Come on. \o/
Chill (and trippy)
Classic, Love it! Remember seeing this back in the day and just re-watched, it holds up very well over a decade later!
