weird, i couldn't find it anywhere on the net anymore, so i uploaded it myself (i only found the uncrunched version, but believe me, this is 64kb :)

this show takes 10 minutes and has a 3mb module. i guess the secret is that it's basically always the same effects but with different colours and in different combinations. takes ages to unpack though. it was really great to watch on the bigscreen, especially because of the 3rd part announcement, really took me by surprise :)

I had seen few Amiga demos in DivX and this one is the most impressive 64kb of all of I have seen. There are 3 parts+musics with lot's of effects involved, fast and synchronized, so cool and so big for 64kb! I would love to see that on a real Amiga oneday, but the big size of it for a 64kb intro reminded me of Stash on PC. Really impressive!

Potion kicks serious ass! What an intro! Unbelievable stuff in 3 huge parts. The most impressive intro ever on Amiga? Watch it and be amazed.

i saw it at the party, and i can remember all parts even now because this one rocks like hell! i never saw anything compareable (on pc, too :P ).
it has different kick-ass parts, great music and doesn't get boring.

One of the best not-PPC intros released on Amiga.

Is it possible to run this on UAE? I think I had problems. NoPPC eeeh? Is it possible to run PPC demos in WinUAE?
added on the 2003-01-09 11:28:43 by Optimus Optimus
Ran totally nice in UAE for me... some parts were slow but that's due to my slow PC.

Just saw the divx today, and although that was a poor video quality, that intro seems to rock hard! 10 minutes of action packed with nice looking effects. I love the tuneS too. That's a true gift Potion gave us :)
rulez added on the 2003-05-22 21:23:30 by exocet exocet
if you want to run it either on an Ammy or in UAE:
please take not that it REQUIRES the AHI SOUDLIB to be installed!!
added on the 2003-05-29 15:03:32 by Gargaj Gargaj
I always run this when im drunk ;) The takeoff in tune 2 is the best.. Part 3 seems to be the most innovative in the effects department. Some shadow stuff and the first time I saw a multirotozoomer on amiga.. (cloud part).
rulez added on the 2003-05-29 23:53:02 by loaderror loaderror
Run this and start drooling. If you saw it before you can start right away, otherwise you must wait for precalc.
rulez added on the 2003-07-17 12:15:27 by Thematic Thematic
The longest precalc in history (atleast w/o oxypatcher on my 'miga), but hey, it's worth it. Kicks fr08-ass :)

[uncrunched version]

Impressive for 64k, I think potion needs no comparism with farbrausch, the same goes for their intros.
Forgot to vote.
I remember when I saw this at the party I read "ready" and thought "ah, finally. kicked ass."' but it went on "ready for part" and I thought it will result in "ready for party", "yeah, rocks." but it resulted in "ready for part 3" - "Wow. Unbelievable. This is not 64k!" ;)

Niiiiice stuff. Tho personally I have a tough time swallowing that goa track. I'd rather they'd use a crazy dnb track instead but then again, how fun would the world be if everyone was the same? Tune was professionally done tho, don't get me wrong. It's just that particular style I don't appreciate very much. Good job all of you who made this fucker!! THUMMMMMBZ UP!!

Loaderror, Synthesis/Network features a dual rotozoomer with crossfading, first released at Assembly 98 but finished back in 97. Anyways I'm d/l this now...

My god the video is too low-quality and it has been precalcing more than 10 mins on UAE (got no fpu on amy :( )... ¿how much time should it take to precalc?

Hmmm I'm on Mac-OSX with g4@1.25 so no JIT for me :( Perhaps it's bugging out... I'm running from an AIAB instalation with cybergraphics mode, should I run it from some native AGA mode perhaps?

without JIT? omg! and yes, try it without cgfx - just reboot without startup-sequence (boot menu), run setpatch and launch intro.

This totally blew me the first time I saw it - especially because I was into the goa/psy-trance genre at that moment.

Besides the intro beeing packed with cool effects and pace, the quality of the music really rocks and I thought "hey - I want such a tool to do synths with".

Anyway this derserves all thumbs up's possible since this is one of the biggest efforts I have ever seen.

This is pretty nuts, especially for 2000... *especially* on 040. Any one aspect of this would be impressive in 64k but put it all together and you really get something special. And it came out months before The Product!

I would love to know how the music synth was done. Sounds damn close to a real 303 & 909 in parts, and well 'mastered' too for a generated tune. The distorted acid around 9:00 is awesome!
