Damn Smash. This made my week. Thanks.

fuckings!!
Nice sound and vision
Looks great on RED AND BLUE glasses. I want a 3D screen :(
Awesome prod! Best demo of the weekend for sure!
smash you rocks :D
smash you rocks :D
Fantastic.
so beautiful...
looked very good on the revision bigscreen :)
Absolutely wonderful! Thank you guys!
i like the first minute of the music (but it gets somehow boring) and dstops visuals but the fluid effect is somehow overused here.
i was always expecting a huge liftoff but then it was suddenly over. plus it leads nowhere (or i don't get it), so this is only a piggy for me.

Of course Smash's particle routine is fucking incredible and the liquid physics were very impressive, but as a demo I found it really bland and boring. I've never been a fan of mono colourschemes in demos and found it really repetetive.
I've come to expect a lot more in the way of cutting edge design and artistic touches from Fairlights and CNCD.

Loved it!
Some very nice parts & camera-work and overall very stylish. Nice!
Well the effects and production rule for sure. Have to agree a bit with Wade though, something's missing this time. Maybe I need to see it in 3D. Easy thumb up for the codepr0n and soundtrack, though.
instant love
Next time particle ribbons please thanks.
shit just got real.
Perfect in all ways.
Actually worked better in my living room than it did on the screen at the party, IMHO. It's a much more intimate affair than the usual demo grandstanding. Yay for being different.
For giving a 16 year old kid demoscene code inspiration!
Oh wow. Them dots on my screen.
I agree with Wade.
This is a awesome demo: http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=74
Numb Res - not. Ultra boring.

shit just got real.
Fuck Donald Trump; Smash for president!
apart from the fluids this looked kinda recycled and empty to me. sorry :(
feel boring.........
This should have won the TG demo compo.
would have been good as a 64k, but too repetitive for a 40mb thing
Thumbs up especially for the liquid system, pretty great for realtime.
Numb res is good. Easily the best in the compo and the best demo production of the year so far.
For me what makes it great is not only the graphics or the music but also the timing/ambience. It is 6 minutes. Does it feel more than 3? no. It is unassuming in taking its time to develop at the start. And when you get the fade out in the middle (and audience think that it is over) BAM! more to come.
I like the music very much... I wonder where they will take us next, after Socrates and Mike Oldfield. What's left in your dad's vinyl record collection, maybe some early Genesis? Try "Selling England by the pound" from 1973, it's quite good actually.
The demo does run very, very slow on my machine. And this is the problem I have with this: I bet that you can have 90-95% of the effect by taking many shortcuts. I only say this because I've seen other similar "liquidy" stuff that look 90% as real as this yet they run much faster on the same machine. I may be talking out of my arse now but:
Take Magellan. Cut out all the coder's colours and concentrate on replicating some of the effects from numb res. Would it work? yes, no?

Awesome prod indeed! Thought I'd have to go for a german demoparty to ever see a CNCD/Fairlight-demo live, but miracles do happen! :D
But, does those numbers have any proper meaning? And if not, where do they come from?
But, does those numbers have any proper meaning? And if not, where do they come from?
geat soundtrack and amazing flow (literally)
Navis, that's a good point - it really doesn't feel like 6 minutes.
Awesome music. Reminds me a Tekkon Kinkreet track from Plaid.
Camera paths could have some extra love, maybe some roll. Maybe the effect has these limitations. Really neat code and effects.

thank you, carillon & cyberiad & fairlight, for this very nice demo!
wow - this style keeps me in this "magic moment" the whole time - music & vocals, visuals & timings fit together perfectly this time. it's really very well made. I really can't wait to see your next release :)

Very very nice indeed.
So, so good.
Watched it again in anaglyphic 3D and was blown away. The music works well too.

Not as good as your previous efforts but I'm surprised you still managed to pull of something that doesn't feel completely rehashed on this same concept.
The track is once again great and the direction is spot on. But the overall composition of the scenes could've been a bit better.

Beautiful! Wonderful visuals and audio, great presentation. Perhaps the numbers concept feels a bit shallow.
I can not thumb this down, that would be lunacy given the technical aspects and otherwise solid content. But Smash, I sincerely mean this, perhaps refresh your concepts a bit left and right. Your productions/code are worth it.
Wow, awesome. Wonderful.
LIFE ROCKS
As soda7 just said on irc, the title of this demo looks like an anagram of "dumb rez" :D
LMAO
As I might know, there's not good blood flowing between FLT and Razor1911!
As I might know, there's not good blood flowing between FLT and Razor1911!
The music is and it's combination with the mysterious set of numbers is just wonderful! Even though this is the fourth or so fairlight demo using their particle magic, I find it's the first one where effects and atmosphere perfectly fit together.
Also: it gains a lot in the 3D version
Also: it gains a lot in the 3D version
Beautiful.
I thought it was a well executed, but boring and overestimated demo. When the paticles started falling on an "hidden" text i changed my mind and find the demo more interesting. So here's your thumb!
Dear FLT&CNCD, I love this demo!
hyvä homma dessu, ehkä liian musta ;)
My feeling on this is mixed.
Technically, I was wondering when you would come up with fluids with surface and all. Job done. :-) Besides this, the demo has a feeling of same stuff again, but while it looks less massive than Agenda and Ceasefire, it's also more coherent.
I don't understand all the ideas conveyed, but it is still highly enjoyable. Actually if I had not read Navis' comment, I wouldn't have noticed this was more than three minutes long.
And something really nice is how it's screaming "we had fun making it".
At last, I'm always happy to see prods in anaglyph, and this one does it very well. Those one dimensional moves work very well.

the particle stuff you've been showing us these couple of years was superb, but this one is just above that...
also, any chances to see it with 3dvision?
also, any chances to see it with 3dvision?
The beginning of the music is giving me some strong Akira vibes somehow.
The demo seems to have a strange bug on my system (i7/4890/Win7-64) - the liquid simulations are totally missing - the other gfx (particle stuff, numbers etc.) are present, but not the liquids.

the utter joykiller of downloading this demo and finding out it again runs 5/10fps (just like the last 3 other 'particle'demos from flt ;/ )
Sdw: yeah the liquids don't work on ati cards, at least not on the 4000 series. Same problem is on Frameranger.
numb res - mumb ret - lumb reu - iumb rev - humb rew - gumb rex - fumb rey - eumb rez
7 letters of difference (meaning 777, aka Razor 1911)
It's almost confirmed.

I am out of words, but I really felt that familiar feeling of "machines can have emotions too".
my TG fav. it's pleasing to watch, coherently, smoothly designed. I'll watch this a few times for sure.
Solid.
Very nice.

I had this happen as well! i7/ATI Radeon HD 5800
I love it. But I keep wondering if the numbers have any meaning.
I love this. Flawless excecution.
The only thing I'm missing is aural cues when you go super slo-mo.
PS:
I'm having real trouble with the fact that there is a user called irwin thumbing pretty much everything down. Go fuck yourself.

Great stuff again Smash.
I'm sure you now have a dedicated room to store all those statuettes, if not, you will soon need one. At some point you will also need your own "best particles" award or something ;)

Enjoyed the particle part, loved the fluid part the most!
Damn, where did I put my old 3d cardboard glasses.
Damn, where did I put my old 3d cardboard glasses.
This is beautiful. Loved the number station voice, really felt sympathy to it.
irvin: I did mistake him for you in the beginning, but I realized you would never be such a lamer, is all good! :)
It sounded somewhat like a 6 minute version of Pink Floyd's intro to Sorrow ( Hawking's voiceover).
It's definitely some nifty grown-up stuff :)

wow- ran smooth, very cool in 3d... really beautiful.
Mind blowing as always!
one thousand three hundred and thirty seven.
I would like number 12345
BINGO!
Scene poetry that doesn't suck (and that does sound great).
Cheers !
Cheers !
Did. Not! Suck. At. All!
Beautiful and inspiring as always!
Yessssssssssssssssssssssssss
A Beauty.
I am still amazed how utterly beautiful this production is. I love every single piece of it and keep watching it, stunned with envy. I am not sure if the technical achievement justifies the typical Fairlight arrogance of the nfo-file, though. Honestly, I don't care about the resolution of marching cubes or number of digits in the particle count. For me, it is the perfect symbiosis of music, animation and style the makes it the my favorite demo so far.
For years, I've been afraid it would come from Smash/CNCD. Well, resistance is futile, I guess.

This demo should be part of the NASA program....
I'd like to contribute to what Pixtur and Navis have already said by adding that what this production really has going for it (in addition to the flawless execution and super-high production value) is tenderness. You actually fall a little in love with it.
another failed...
more and more cool particules, but black screen after big "end"
more and more cool particules, but black screen after big "end"
nice flow!
What a prod ! Excellent, the music is marvellous and the visual is well made around it. One of my all time favorite !
more particles, but hey, that was exceptionally beautiful.
Magic ambience even if this prod is in b&w.
Fluid physic is just so awesome.
Music is very relaxing, btw is there a hidden message with the lyrics ?
It sounds like a "spy" code :D

good..but it's not my cup of tee!
The second part was better, but nothing really new. Add more colors next time :) and Don't show the same effects over and over :)
Like the tune, flow and relaxed vibe.
Barely any colours used, a soothing soundtrack, a number myth being started and this incredible black milk. Wow, wow, wow..
And what Okeanos said!
And what Okeanos said!
not just coder-pr0n, but everything is pr0n.
Totally breathtaking. Beats Ceasefire imo.
From the technical point of view, I'm speechless - especially the second part with marching cubed (or whatever?) fluid flow approximation was astonishing. Please, publish a paper on the technique you've used to make it possible!
On the other hand, I dislike the design. I really loved your former fluid-based prods, but this is just way too much uncorrelated. The first part is totally off the second one. It's coder porn, and since I'm a coder myself, I do admire this with all my heart, but the overall impression is just insufficient for a thumb-up, let alone a cdc.

Beautiful demo!
I've watched it in 3d now and it's a much more interesting experience and has earned my thumb. And though the music is quite nice, that voice over is soo damn irritating!
cool visuals. but the numbers and vocals wtf..
My poor GTX260 cries in agony... but seriously, hats off. I'm striving for this level of direction and design.
I liked this one Smash :)
This is absolutely divine and makes me want to commit serious crimes in order to obtain extra 3D glasses.
I really dig the design. And this works amazingly well with those crappy anaglyph glasses.
It's super tricky displaying physics sims in a way that is both technically and artistically interesting. This demo does both, so hats off.
The liquids parts was cool! The first part was a bit too slow for my taste. Still, impressive :)
very nice saw this on the revision stream =)
amazing! wow!
what rasmus said :(
y4n: dont fucking start. what rasmus said was true, so fucking quit your namevoting.

The fluids were my least favorite, and they were still great :) That hairy stuff is just lovely.
waohh ... dots! I love DOTS ... and this one here is fuckin' brilliant!!! awesome job!
Yes , hats off !
Nice demo with few things.
It was a real privilege to see this come together, fantastic work from everyone involved.

Fairlight know how to put particles to good use! ;) Very smooth production, very enjoyable!:)
@ruairi [rc55]: link not working!?
Nice blend of fluid simulation and particle rendering. Not really on par with Agenda or Ceasefire but still quite nice. Does also manage to emote a bit as well :).
As in the other particle demos it creates a really nice atmosphere and is well executed. Like it.
Old improved code with some great music/feeling. I liked watching it twice even if it's a bit slow even on my GTS450.
Beautiful... I'm really looking forward to watch it in 3D! :)
worth a piggy. impressive, but not when it comes for destop & co.
Any chance of the 3d video being uploaded to youtube using youtube's actual 3d support? I don't have that particular type of 3d glasses, but youtube will happily convert it (and also play it for everyone with a 3d screen) if it's uploaded correctly.
(Not watched the demo, so for now I'll judge by the screenshot and give it a pig :)

too slow on my computer. concept is fine.
made me shit my pants...in a good way.
Brilliant as usual
but ATI fix please???
but ATI fix please???
oh shit yes PLEASE MORE
Hypnotic, fresh and awesome music. I love this.
Fucking great in all of the aspects =)
Amazingly good looking liquid part
argh! my favouritest demo in ages.
i'm so in love with this production. beautiful in every aspect. thank you.
the fluid at the end appears to be triangulated with marching cubes. how so fast and with so many particles?
Ok demo. slow start, nice ending, too "monochrome" for me, but nice effects, good work
I like it! Surprisingly, because the music is really experimental. I am happy that you keep exploring new things like this.
Another nice soundtrack almost ruined by uneccessary and annoying vocals. Second part saves it. Basically, what nemesis said.
Rather than downloading absrd's extracted song, simply pay £6 for the whole album. It's friggin' awesome.

@Irvin: The artists are pretty well supported by the price money I think ;)
ok watched it a few times now, and it is beautiful, and as usual with recent FLT demos it allows you to fill in the gaps and make your own opinion on what you've seen, which is good, it provokes thought and emotion, the link between music and visuals blends perfectly, they were born to be together, great stuff as usual :)
Fairlight demos are always a bit hit and miss for me.. technically, usually a hit.. technically on my hardware always a complete miss :D But the design is also hit + miss. Sometimes I love it, sometimes it can feel too ad bureau or game trailer.
But this time.. it's like all the attempts to impress got abandoned along the way, and a few nice effects were thrown in to make a demo. Same with the design, it's not got that "we have pro designers" feel like some of the past demos, it just has the design it needs to get the job done.
And that's why it works for me. It's not trying to blow me away with design and code, so I can kick back and enjoy it more. The design and code are there to be appreciated too, less in your face perhaps, but all the more enjoyable for it. It's more mature, and I think it'll be longer lasting. Best flt & friends demo in years.
Now, I'm off to check out the rest of stereo wildlife's music, not heard of them before :)

Wowsers, just watched this in 3D! Unbelievable detail, just wish my rig would push it at 60! :(
Oh wow! Words are failing here.
.
Holy moly! I just watched THE 3D version with blue/red glasses in the dark. I Challenge everybody to do THE Same and comment again.. In was in another world completly inside THE demo. Awesomeness cant discribe it.
I wasn't very impressed by the 3d.
That's Numberwang!
Seriously tho, I've always loved when FLT/CNCD lay off their trademark pretentiousness (nfo aside :) just because of the sheer beauty of what comes out when they do. I can understand the criticism (and tbh it's a bit empty now and then and doesn't work too well in daylight) but to paraphrase a conversation I had with Reed at Revision: The ability to appreciate demos like this comes with age. Luckily I'm old.
Now where are my Barbie branded 3D glasses when I need them :D
Now where are my Barbie branded 3D glasses when I need them :D
Don't like it but you'll have to appreciate the technical accomplishments and the effort put into this.
Wonderful <3
Once again very well picked music score (like in Agenda and CeaseFire) crafted together with smooth and fluid effects. I appreciate b&w scheme with rastered fonts.
Wervy well made relaxing demo with great atmospehere and well deserverd second place.

I still like these kind of stuff...
mind = blown
Perfect combination of audio and visuals here. I love it.

Love it. Especially water and music.
I don't know how many times I have watched this. It's been a long time I did this for a demo.
The 3D version is absolutely mind boggling. Seriously guys, if you don't have a pair of red/cyan glasses, go out and get one. This demo's worth it!

i love the numbers part! the fluid part is technically impressive but somehow fails to turn me on. the first of the particle-demos i've enjoyed watching since blunderbuss, so thumbs up for that!
It looks great. It's technically impressive. But I guess it was just too much fluid pixel stuff for me in one demo. Nevertheless good work!
Easily the best demo in 2011 so far. Aesthetically pleasing, fantastic code and a kick ass soundtrack. It's perfect on it's own. A work of art.
Cool atmosphere...
Play again, play again, play again, play again, play again, play again, play again, play again, play again, play again, play again, play again, play again, play AGAIN!
Real quality shit even with missing fluids.
WOW, yes! I really really enjoyed this! Awesome visuals, awesome music... perfect! =)
Actually, it was very nice. The music, the visuals, and technically impressive, just as usual.
But I got bored... so piggy for me, sorry.
But I got bored... so piggy for me, sorry.
fantastic!
Moody, and well executed: instant hit. Cncd and Flt did it again.
Ok, after watching this few more times and being hypnotised by Stephen Hawking voice I am giving it a thumb up. Damn you Destop :)
kick-ass demo
pretty much what kb_ said.
2-3 effects might be a little less, but what's shown is just beautiful. Wish I had 3d glasses handy.

easily the best flt demo of the last years.
the soundtrack is fantastic - so well balanced and fresh.
the soundtrack is fantastic - so well balanced and fresh.
best use of anaglyphic ever and overall best demo of the year till now!
wonderful. My fav demo so far this year. The intro part, like first 2 mins, is probably the best intro i've seen.
Finally a good demo about semen.
Me likey.
I couldn't run it at 1280x1024 fullscreen due to
"Error creating render target" error. I read its text file that said 768 MB of VRAM is required! Well, damnit. :( I did try windowed mode with 640x480 resolution and it actually ran, but too choppy for my old ATI Radeon 4870 video card with 512 MB of VRAM in an old, updated Windows XP Pro. SP3 machine (i7 950 CPU). However, I noticed the demo's options showed 4X antialias greyed out. Why can't I change this? :(
So I had to watch it on YouTube! It looked nice.

Still wish this was longer, absolutely love the mood in it and the feeling it gives.
The prod I personally enjoyed the most during the compo, perhaps because the soothing feeling fit very well with "the last demo is running, I'm finally done stressing now".
I'm very happy to have been able to present this for the TG11 audience, thank you :)

O_o--b
Hmmm. This actually falls rather flat, due the "subtitling", why repeat something that we are clearly already hearing? It's about numbers. Why wouldn't you put 72 of something to the screen? This could've told an amazing story, in which it's triumph would've laid. Right now it's just an placeholder for something truly great. Quality is there tho, as usual.
3d excellent !!11
great one. the slow motion parts where awesome.
I simply love the 'head explosion' after last liquid scene. My thoughts exactly :)
utter visual and technical brilliance, loved the subtle use of arrow
It's not bad but it did not touch me. I don't get the hype, sorry :)
has some breathtaking moments, and feels truly original. the music is helping to build up the atmosphere a great deal. the only flaw for me is a bit of repetitiveness in some places. but in the end, one of the best prods i have seen in some time.
keep on doing more stuff with particles and fluid!
Fluid = Fairlight's new ribbon effect!
Fluid = Fairlight's new ribbon effect!
Great mood and feeling with lovely effects.
beautiful soundtrack and fitting visuals. Never heard the word 'end' used in a more poetic way before :) gotta love the coderporn too!
Such beauty! Such a nice soundtrack!
Definite thumb for the coderporn, but as a viewing experience, I can't help but feel it is somewhat too monotonous. Also not a big fan of the poetry.
beautiful and soothing
I like 3D version!
Music is very cool.

What Ferris said
great.
I just watched it again, now in 3D, and I'm in awe! <3
oh lord.
Now watched it on my 104cm full HD screen in 3D in the dark. Cant get enough..:) have to say though if there was not à 3D version i probably would not have watched it again. This demo in 3D is why it really stands out imho. Now Find another niche for THE NeXT flt and cncd demo without particles;)
I love it!
aye!
Thumbs up for the anaglyph version which is awesome. Otherwise a bit boring.
couldn't stand the counting of the text to speech voice after a while and ESC.
other than that, it could've been a nice prod. ( even though it's damn slow on my GTX470 ).

you should have faded in ( and out ) some colors from time to time :p
i would have thrown in my Dime.
rest the same, just generic shit this time,
some stuff even looked more like glitches than design!
this 4liner was brought to you by BOREDOM!

A really nice demo! The particle effect just gets better and with the fluids this is nothing else than a masterpiece!
This was something!
Watched it, and watched again, and again...
This prod diserves to be watched in 3D, just do it. I've seen it maybe 10 times in a row now, pure awesomeness. This should have won the compo. We need to start handing out 3d glasses on the demoshows from now on.
1.omg scene's not dead.
2.music is half of the demo.
3.art.

wow. excellent demo. thank you guys!
and it was the first time (thanks to my new machine) that i can watch a flt demo in full beauty and framerate (even anaglyphic).
But - cheered to soon - demo runs pefect until 2:32 - then i get only a black screen woth music.. no fluids for me :(
Config: win7,64bit, i5, AMD Radeon 6850, 1GB VRAM

@Visualice. I personally hate demos that try to tell a story. As a famous danish coder and I once talked about, the most shitty short film can "render" in better quality, than even the best demos, why not instead try to embrace the medium and do what it's best for. And I tend to think, that most sceners would agree with me. But if the story is like what is done in Debris (if you agree that Debris has a "story"), it might be a good thing, but I tend to watch demos more that don't include a story.
OH jesus. More crap from fairlight. Haven't you all got AIDS yet? Especially you matt with your dirty cock.
After reading that, can i vote for it again please?
d3pth: Well I wasn't referring to a story "story", but something that leaves room for one's interpretation, so I suppose Debris could serve as an example here. But while being on the subject, I don't have anything against story-demos, meaning if there would be one that wouldn't seem like something that a 10-year old has written :D
narrative != story
So a unified colour-scheme is a narrative now?
Just watched it in 3d. The 3d effect adds a lot.. but the shitty red/blue glasses take quite a lot away. With a real 3d screen, it would be incredible.
(And some of the scenes near the end make sooo much more sense in 3d btw. The 'slowdown' isn't there for you to admire the fluid, it's to admire the 3d :)

unbelievable lots of dotz :) great work !
Thumbs up for the making-of :)
Superb and it has not won... what a shame!
Numb Res without the art sense, and without realtime simulation (but realtime MC):

blunderbuss was nice and something new, Agenda Circling Forth amazed me, Ceasefire was sloooow... and now I'm getting tired of particles.
Amazing skill and polish. I can't even hear the woosh as it goes miles over my head. Also, soulful.
amazing work smash!
wow, that's neat :)
This made my day. Thanks!
Oups. Forgot my thumb. Superb demo and great soundtrack. Bought »The Lighthouse« by Stereo Wildlife and the other tracks are great, too.
Beautiful tune, solid graphics and effects although a bit on the slow side as usual :) I enjoyed the biology-ish part more than the rest ;)
Very good. Love the music.
Nice... especially the disintegration effects.
I liked the music too...

LBM FTW
btw, the music reminds me a but of radioheads "Fitter Happier", which is actually a good thing.. :)
not really...
.
nice concept with fitting tune and awesome code =

Nice one
a rat. in a cage. on antibiotics.
Stereo 3D version rules btw. So much more depth in the fluid scenes than I had noticed before. Fantastic.
fantastic, especially the second half with the fluids
Just saw Numb Res in 3D @ VIP... omgfgbbq :).
Extra thumb for the 3D, really awesome

Finally managed to fap to this.
Also am wondering is FLT/CNCD cheating with offscreen video rendering here? I mean 768MB video memory requirement is quite much if you take a look on downloadable video size.
No its quite normal, ~all normal cards have at least 1GB mem
Watched finally this in anaglyphic 3d yesterday. What a ride!
I was actually thinking before (seeing this in 3d) that in some parts the demo was "empty" and "lacking" in places, but I'd say this is only for the benefit with the glasses on - less is more. Excellent soundtrack, as well!

I like the Demo as a whole, but my problem with the particle based fluid dynamics is that the water that comes out of it, does not really look like water after all (might also be because of what comes out of the marching cube algorithm, it will create these pretty round blobs around single particles that are off on their own). I'm quite impressed by the performance of the particle simulation though. Good job. Also the number counting is lost on me ;) Will there be any fairlight demo anytime soon, that can run on a computer that is older than 9 months? :D
More.
black screen, too, part way thru
Radeon 5870, 11.2 or 11.3 drivers

Yeah, this demo really grows on you, and I just love the soundtrack
very nice
remarkable
begin. ok, 2011 isn´t up yet, but i personally think this can not be beaten this year, so i scream this one out for the demo of the year ´11. This is so grown up for a FLT prod, which somehow leads me to
This is a true pearl! This time, i don´t even care that i could not see this prod in RT (like almost EVERY FLT prod because of FiretrUCKING hardware hungry code). So, my personal wishes to Smash/FLT: Go on creating stuff like that, but make it less hardware hungry (i bet you hear this a thousand times, but sorry, these guys/gals are right... hehe). end.

The ability to appreciate demos like this comes with age. Luckily I'm old.

why this prod and agenda circling fourth are not on demoscene.tv ?
A BEST soundtrack ever! Amazing tune
Somehow I missed to thumb this one. Soundtrack is great and effects - especially the water like one - cool as usual.
Made a Highres Youtube Rip on my HD channel:

Wow, atmospheric and the music is spot-on!
.
This prod has finally made me register on Pouet after nearly ten years of lurking (that it took me several more months to actually complete the registration is another story). I watched it on the livestream, I watched it on my home PC, I watched it in a video capture, and it never fails to impress—let alone in stereo mode.
Most of the recent Fairlight output is known for the (ever-amusing) pretentiousness, but this demo is somehow very sincere, touching, even humble in some ways. I didn't like Agenda or Ceasefire too much, but this deserved to win in my opinion. Truly a colossal effort!

mandatory particle thumb.
And here's the FullHD anaglyph version:
Youtube(anaglyph)
Now that I've seen it in "real" 3D - its even more great!

How shall I even dare to produce anything after you guys have ruined my motivation by making something as damn touching and brilliant in every aspect!
Excellent soundtrack and effects, but what nemesis said.
I fucking love this production.
Excellent trip! Stunning visuals and beautiful, fitting music; these guys continue to squeeze fresh, astonishing prods out of the same (likewise astonishing) engine.
just bought the soundtrack :p
numb res - rubs men, burns me
So I finally managed to see it in anaglyph 3D... Awesome!
Beautiful!
Truely, purely and simply art. Smash, you're a beast.
Took me a frikn year but finally found it (unfortunately from video since OSX sucks in running .exes);

huh, didn't notice this earlier but 3d spiral @1:15 gives you pretty cool whoa -effect once you spot it.
whoooops, make it a 3d spring instead, shaken, not stirred.
very nice chilled out production, calm flow and awesome music :)
geesus guise. i liked the rotating planets from the very beginning but there's a tail made of dots included. too many details for my taste, sorry, gave a thumb down if i didn't thumb up this already. next time make it a jing-jang logo only. hello. good bye. please.
love it!
Amazing!
love it, especially the first part.
boring + shitty music
@dafuq: gfy
From a technical aspect (Engine based on vanilla DX9c, no geometry shaders used, etc.) this is an amazing demo.
Didn't like it so much at first glance but it's growing on me.

It's a bit... boring. But it's awesome in 3D and hey, FLT!
black background.
u serious
I'd like to see this on planetarium screen, please.
Hm, it doesn't let me pick 2560x1600. Please fix :)
Still, awesome.
Still, awesome.
Damn, now I have to figure out how to playback these two video-streams to finally do something useful with our new projector.
scientific. cool style, great soundtrack and direction
I can't say nothing.
well, i'll be god damned. I haven't seen (or heard) a demo that mesmerising in ages.
it's beautifull.
Forgot to vote this beauty!
Very cool!!
Impressive and beautiful.
well, it is hard to not love this one :)
great great prod, amazing soundtrack...
impressive
I hate it, when I try to make any sense of what's going on. It's a brilliant soundtrack, something that makes you want to try and make connections, references or just sense at all. Visually, the simplicity in the appearance really works well, though the tech stuff going on "underneath" is probably nowhere near simple. Great and coherent prod!
:O
Miraculous...
I'm even more impressed after reading the making of... a stunning production!
I have no words to describe how much I dig this. This is the demo to strive for. The .diz talks about the technical issues involved, but this demo is quite a lot more than the technical backbone for me. This is a demo about loneliness and disconnectedness in the world, and overcoming it in a flood of a cathartic experience.
I appreciate the tech and idea, but I'm not really a fan of this. It's just dull to watch, as pretty as it may be.
How did I not thumb this up? Really great idea, and the song is really nice. (I bought the album it is from after this came out.)
Probably the most watched, and LISTENED to prod I can tell of! :]
Black and white noise.
Amazing stuff. The soundtrack from stereo wildlife on this is worth to be heard while watching this demo!
8/10
They used Stereo Wildlife's Music!
Bingo!
Still touches me deeply every time I watch it.
I suck cocks but will give it a go later today anyway - see what happens if use 3-4 times the particle radius for grid indexing... I.e same particle in multiple grid positions...
The number station voice creepiness combined with technical excellence makes this really atmospheric. It's makes the fluid simulation show-off in the middle seem almost needless.
Still my all-time-favorite yet today. There really should be personal top 10 list availability too. Not only some algorithm which fails to understand quality where it sees it. Damn!
whoops. often watched. never thumbed. fixed.
Rules!
Rules!
Oh my god. Smash and Destop gonna love this :/
Fairlight
maybe i'm missing something here... piggy

Very nice atmosphere.
This stands out as a bit of a modern classic
Magic of fluids and numbers <3
the counting at the beggining really reminded me of that Boards of Canada track
Amazing music.
.exe file has attached .zip portion, you can unzip it to get some resources out (like the music in 320kbps mp3!) - but there is a password, it is:

This will forever be my favorite demo. The soundtrack is beyond beautiful and with the visuals I can always find new thoughts that I can dwell into. Demos are at their best when they have a clear vision that is brought to life.
Shame of people I would never search to know, personnally. This disturbs my children.
Holy shit, this could make nervous a cat if it was so exceptionnal. Poor minded hypnosis and confidence. Before talking to me, ask before if it was someone else anywhere. The dead was my cat. She died years, ago.
