Tried on 2 different machines and crashed with different error code. First you learn to program THEN you make satyre.

navis, did any of the machines support OpenGL 2.0 ?
yes both. First machine crashed with a 0x000 exception, second stopped loading at init and hanged my system a while later. Hard reboot needed.
This was really funny during the compo, but I think it didn't deserve first place :)
Navis: considering the compatibility of the original, i'd say this is more than fitting :)
navis, that's indeed strange.. this demo is not coded per se, my tool is used and it shouldn't crash like that.. what CPU/chipset do you have?

hey sorry to diss your tool. But two reboots later (and some work lost) had their toll.
The setups are : both AMD XP single, XP win, lots of ram and 5600ultra / 9600XT. The crashes are of different sort.

navis, are you 100% sure that GLSL works on those cards? afaik it needs Pro ATI cards, and geforce 6xxx series... fragment program etc which you use (since you use cg) works though.
I'll fix the blur's dependency on GLSL (it's rather silly actually) in the next release of my tool, but it's good to know if this is causing the crash or something else :)

Why not prevent it from crashing instead? And giving correct errormessages.
I don think "old" radeon cards support GLSL fully, but it does support GLSL. Youll have to probe the card to see what functions it has I guess. It's like using D3D9 and say "You have to have d3d9 compatible card", wich no card has.
