Not quite as good as the winner, but still, a nice effort. The whole "software engine" idea is a bit above my head. Hello, how about using the available hardware for nice, smooth effects like in xenon?

Indeed, this looks so '97, the huge pixels were hard on my eyes...
but it's nicely designed, it has good artwork, the 3d engine seems solid and the music rocks!

This was pretty decent. Software, seen-before stuff, but nicely put together. Ran at good framerates too.

I wholeheartedly second the opinion about the smart use of typography. The rest was more like "let's throw in everything we have and then synch and blur and have fun". Well, such are most of the 90's classic, so I won't complain.. 8)

I don't know, I definitely HAD speed problems on my Athlon 1GHz here, 320x240 software engines just aren't supposed to run in under 30fps nowadays, sorry.

great design, music, graphics... but get a decent coder! THIS IS LOOKS LIKE A DEMO FROM 5 YEARS AGO AND IT DOESN'T RUN 1 KAZILLION FPS ON MY P3/450 !! WHAT DID YOU WRITE THOSE POLYROUTINES WITH? BUTTER? SHAME SHAME !
i guess it's some bug, maybe in the ddraw code. since my p3-866 server seems to pull it over 60fps at all times.
Actually this one reminds me a lot of some certain Haujobb intros done back in -99. :) Fun to watch for once, could've been a chart hit 3-4 years ago. Now it doesn't seem that interesting anymore.

okay, first of all... this demo has been reported to run nice at ~500 mhz. There might be some bugs making it run slow on some computers, not that I can think of any good reasons, except that I didnt spend a lot of time optimizing the polyfillers, and some of the scenes also contain a lot of hidden faces (the motionblur-room, ie).
Second of all, I run the radialblur twice to get a smoother look, and since both passes are subpixelaccurate, it requres a lot of memory-access. (but, hey, most people have >500 mhz, and decent RAM (my laptop has ram slow as hell, and that was the machine it was coded at)) This demo was also a real hurry-job.
kb: this demo i a HELL lot faster than sleepless (at least at both my machines), and it even contains MORE than just a 3dengine, so shut it.
My next software-demo will proabebly run at a higher resolution, though.

I like it alot, great 90s feeling (and not necessary the usual, overrated "oldschool" thang). In a way, the low resolution has a lot of appeal to me. Nice gfx btw =)

The soft effects are very nicely done and run smooth. Nice design. I am not sure if it crashed in the middle in an image coming showing up from the radiul blur, or it was the end of the demo. I will test it home, I don't trust this computer here :P

Great stuff. Probably the excess demo I like the most. It has that 90s feeling. Except for that prestekrage. What the hell is that prestekrage doing in there? Id rather have Walter Kluge rotating on all three axises than a prestekrage.

It smells like software, yes it is ! The tune is not original for a penny but I like it anyway, upgrade your sounds bank :). Cool blur effects everywhere, specially when cross fading it to a picture. Don't really like the end though, nothign compared to the pretty dark effects of the beginning.
