the screenshot scares the shit out of me, sorry :)
If that scares you, try watching the rest of the demo.. I did. It's like having a Trabant.. it's oldskool, but is it necessarily cool? :)
Nothing to do with the Amiga group "Creative Minds", afaik.
No thumbs down since I like to be encouraging to first-time groups who at least make some effort.

oldschool. liked it.
wow, this really has the vibe :) -- but i still dont like the screenshot :)
I mostly agree with phoenix.
Not bad for a first prod, but nothing I'd vote for on a party either.

nice one, with very good spirit ...
go on ...

oldscool.
I like the music.
I like the music.
Okay, it must just be me, but I think it rocked =)
The music was good, the gfx were okay to fantastic, and the overall idea was great.
I especially liked the spinning tunnel scroller... I'm sure it's nothing that hasn't been done before, but it sure did look cool! Especially the sun shining in the windows - very nice effect with the "LINEAR" on it...
Good luck with your next prod!

hmm.. no. it's too oldskool IMO. And therefore its a bit too boring. The music was okay but the graphics weren't. But simply okay first prod for a new oldskool demogroup :)
yes, i liked it!, keep on the hard work guyz!
Oh Yeah !!!!
it's pretty cool ! :)
Keep on good work guyz ! :)

I espeacially liked the soundtrack and the greetings from the coder ;))

Erm, although I have seen (and made!) worse first-release-demos, I don't like phrases like 'we don't need hw acceleration' (they obviously mean: 'we can't code that yet, sorry'). And about the oldschool-label: If it's very well done, it's a great nostalgic trip, otherwise it sounds like an excuse for not being able to do better and for not trying new ideas.
Another nice "oldschool" demo with the "no 3d acceleration" attitude. I always enjoy watching these no matter if it becomes a coolness factor to say "old is kewl" or something ;)
I remember other older oldskewl with new hardware production, like Amigold by Ojuice (Runs smooth and great now on my new AMD k6-2) a demo by Nostalgia as I remember, and more... though, while they were supposed to be oldschool because of the effects, they needed a Pentium or better so that these effects would run at full frame rate, some of them were at 320*200 (like this one I think), just with more depth of color, and still. It's good to see oldschool attitude demos, I only wished they were oldschool in the coding too..
However this was nice, I test it in a Pentium 800 now,. some scroller parts were not that smooth (Yeah,. it's a shame that we have to see a good scroller since prehistoric time, but this scroll was not smooth on even this machine, I only see an ultrasmooth scroller only on hardware acceleration today (E.g. the upscrollie from FR08,. I was touched by that when I first showed with the nice music and the 3d in the background :) I don't know why. This is 320*200, it should be ultrasmooth in this machine? I should better learn some DirectDraw and try myself instead of whinning..
Anyways,. sorry for the bad reactive criticize (I can switch my CPC or my Amiga if I don't like PC. Ahhh,. nostalgia, fly away, awwwaaaayyyyyy....), I like to see more oldskool demos, I hope for more prods from Creative Minds :)
Some more..
I like the nice crossfades with the nice gfx,. the cool scrollie ideas,. the general oldschool feeling, scrollies and more scrollies :)
I only hope they would be fast. PC has great power today, it could be quite easy to give a nice oldshool demo even in a simple Pentium if it is in 320*200

I just read the file_id.diz and think now that perhaps I shouldn't bother you with "this code is kinda slow" or something attitude. I am sorry for that! At least this demo was just an opportunity to express my thoughts about "oldschool" attitude demos which need a Pentium or faster (You should burn the code to hell, install Nasm or Masm or Tasm (or Debug.exe ;) and burn the PCs ass!!! PC is kicking power, but big hardware makes coders lazy ;P) to run old effects and are supposed to be cool (But they are cool for memories and I like them :) or something because of the effects, no matter if the coding is not oldschool.
But I did same unoptimized shit with my first demos too, which were not even that good as this (were just qbasic stuff without even music and ugly gfx ;) so I shut up and go back to work on my CPC :)
err... not my taste...
tentacle^Creative Minds speaking (yepp .. the crazy amigademoguys ;)
just loading the final, but i have allready seen the partyversion on ms.
I'm eager to see your next prod. (maybe on ms03 if you are not to enraged about ms.orga)!

One thing I never particularly liked about 'oldskool' demos was the scrollers. And here we have a bunch of oldskool scrollers. But Amiga 500 scrollers ran at 50 fps, whereas this production seems to run at about 30 fps with my 1.3 GHz T-Birdl.
This is not oldschool. This is lame. Lazy programming. Scrollers are not smooth with 600mhz portable. Effects are not oldschool they are tutorial material.
not even tutorial material :)
there are almost zero effects in this prod, the graphics are mediocre, the scrollers are non-smooth.. etc.
i ran this on my 380mhz thingie.. i guess that's overkill for the things i've seen. this can be done on a goddamn 386 :)
i don't like the "bragging" in the first scrollers btw. it's standard 'we cant live up' talk (i also constantly hear such things from certain dutch amigasceners who have no talents at all ;)..
so i'd say drop the "blabla oldskool" attitude when you're not oldskool.. either switch to harwdare rendering or get hang of optimizing. oh and next time some effects please ;)

i don't think it was bad at all.. i enjoyed watching the whole demo and didn't feel bored one time! not all demos loaded with massive effects can do that, it's all about the feeling
Ok. The demo is NOT worth the 2.40Mb. It'd have been nice to see in 1996, maybe, on a 486, or something. Your attitude Fillbert, is not the best for being a newcomer in the demoscene. Most of these people have already done it better (about the last comment). You can't pretend to be oldskool and then blame the 400x300x32bpp mode, go and use 320x200, noone is forcing you to use 400x300... and AFAIK, oldschool demos didn't use photoshop filters for graphics (graphics, which look like 256 colors, i'm not sure why this would make a 2.40Mb package).
Overall, a good try. Definitely not a rulez production, and your attitude and comments make me give it a sucks. Be more gentle, next time.
(And yes, looks a lot a tutorial-like demo)

Scroller demo, ok, ok... But still!
I mean, if a demo forces me to press ESC before it's finished, it can't be good :p
Sorry...

1) your graphician should be terminated.
2) your coder should be terminated.
3) your musician should be terminated.
otherwise a nice demo.

I love the part with muti-scrolltexts+starfield+3d tunnel, lovely, NICE

say mister fillbert, perhaps you should cut the attitude. "this demo uses 400x300x32 thats six times more blablabla".. and the effects are at least six times less intensive than any fashionable demo :) i know, optimizing is an art but considering the effects i'm not very happy with the fact that it skips frames on a p2-350!!@# these are goddamn scrollers, wobblers, lenzes and some other ugly shit.
i think most coders here could do it better :) and why the "anti 3D" attitude? if you think using the 3D acceleration possibilities of your display adapter limits to 3D flyby's you're obviously wrong. but you know that now dont you? i guess your 2d effects could have ran faster if you did them in hardware :)
anyhow cut the attitude, it makes me puke knowing that most of us 'll beat your ass anytime :)

oh and before you start whining about "but 400x300x32 is more than 320x200x8" (<- a lot of popular DOS demos run in 320x240x32 or even higher resolutions btw) take a look at the nonstop ibiza experience by orange. great demo, runs at a nice framerate. and it's 512x384x32 or 640x480x32.. not exactly sure.
Made me remember the North Star/Fairlight mega demo II on the Amiga. Don't know if that is good :)
Fantastic !!
Music is Super
Good Luck On Your Next Release

co0l idea with oldsko0l, but size is to0 big, would be co0ler with a chiptune in my opinion. Many co0l fonts, except that fat, made in MS paint font hehe.
why did you limit framerate to 30fps in the first place, fillbert? i don't know if my machine is skipping frames or if that's the intended speed, but sure enough, the animations look jerky. inacceptable on a 1.3 ghz machine.
and before you ask - yes, we have released a jerky crap demo too, but at least it was a little more sophisticated code-wise and we thumbed it down ourselves :D
music is rather sub-standard too, and your attitude sucks as far as I can tell from your comment above (don't mean to judge your person, just my impression).
i do like one or two parts - the tunnel scroller starfield thing is cool.

dunn0 if u ment me jazzman, but if u did ill answer. I didnt say the music sux, its pretty go0d, but i think it would be co0ler with chiptune :) Chip = more oldsko0l

the tunnel effect ist great! i never seen it in any other prod! I like the idea with the scollers! but i think more oldskool where better!
This one isn't boring.
What's disturbing me is just, that the coder try to justify his work in sight of other groups and productions. Why do so ?
Mensch Leute. Keiner will euch was.
Macht weiter.
Thumb up, next time.
