- 8k Windows Where the dead things dwell by Architect
- I really liked the DOF effects in this. It was perhaps overused in a few places, but not in a manner that it detracted from the overall prod quality. I liked the synchronization as well. I enjoyed the music as well.
Curious about how the music was developed? Any particular software used? - rulezadded on the 2017-04-17 18:17:27
- demo Windows We Stand Divided by Cocoon [web]
- Possibly my favorite art direction of the PC compo. Very well done overall and I certainly loved the effects used. Music was fantastic. I suspect the point gap can best be explained by the energy levels. Watching from home, the mood is absolutely perfect. But I wonder if I'd feel the same at the party place surrounded by a bunch of folk.
Awesome stuff! - rulezadded on the 2015-04-08 06:03:03

- 8k Windows q(n)=2k15 by Tristar & Red Sector Inc. [web]
- Music is phenomenal. I think art direction and graphics are well done and transitions were smooth. I just feel that the scenes were a bit drawn out too long, especially the bubble scene. Overall, I do feel its deserving of its award. Well done.

- 8k Windows 8K Reality by Fulcrum [web]
- I'll admit a little bit of bias (which is why I'm not thumbing up), but I for one think the production turned out beautifully within the confines of the 8k threshold. Our mailing list was on fire with lots of tweaks and optimization discussions, especially in the case of the music. You can imagine that optimizing music for something of this nature would be difficult...doing it over email half a world away is a lot more difficult. That said, I really admire the work that elblanco and seven did. I think it turned out very well. I'm proud of them and I think they should be proud of themselves as well.

- 1k Windows Tendrils by Traction [web] & Fit [web]
- Deserving of first place. smooth graphics, very stylized (that's a plus), there's a clear vision here. Music is great (that quality of music in a 1k, really? wow!)

- demo MS-Dos Verses by Electromotive Force [web]
- First demo I ever saw, so I have a nostalgia interest in this one.

- demo Windows Heliosphere by Fulcrum [web]
- i admit...I probably have a biased. But I'm proud of Seven for his work on this one. He picked a goal and hit it with more beauty than we could've hoped for. Hooray for single effect demos.

- diskmag Windows Hugi #29 - The Blue One by Hugi [web]
- I've been part of the 'scene a very long time. And I've been observing even longer. Since as long as I can remember, there have always been "The Scene is Dead" debates, and I've even started some of them myself. Everyone has an opinion about it. And everyone will say it.
But no one has yet to figure out that the writer starts such a debate to disprove himself.
Think of it this way...if I'm going to write an article, I'm going to write it to an audience. If I want to know who read my article, I would say something that everyone would disagree with. I can't speak for EP, but I sure has hell have done that countless times in the past. And you have all responded (some childishly), and by doing so you have proven that the scene is in fact NOT DEAD!
Congratulations, you passed. - isokadded on the 2004-08-13 03:00:13
