- tomkh: Drawing the line somewhere is crucial to get the demos delivered on time. We're talking about productions that are made whenever people get a free second over their rather busy evenings. These are not commercial prods with a blockbuster budget that a random connoiseur decided to sponsor! It would make sense to apply your metric over the latter, but doing so for the former is off the wall.
tl;dr: You could work a few years on a demo, sure. But then by the time you release it, it would've already been a dinosaur in terms of APIs, algorithms or techniques you used to create the outcome. Would that make any sense at all? - isokadded on the 2015-04-11 23:31:25

Doesn't change the fact that I totally agree this is one of the very few and far between prods that can be shown to folks outside the scene, which is also worth highlighting.
