- 40k Amiga OCS/ECS Desire FM by Desire [web]
- I really like the design/theme!
And the effects are executed very well.
Especially the city scape with the changing horizon.
Great work in 40k! - rulezadded on the 2024-01-23 15:45:36
- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Batman Rises by Batman Group
- Ah, a flame war!
I'll just drop in my two cents:
I agree with the claim that this vector player is competing with the one from TBL in Eon.
BG have developed their own offline preprocessor and their own vector replayer to play back their scenes.
As such, both implementations have their own capabilities, limitations and performance characteristics.
In that sense it's no different from 'realtime'/'real' effects.
This is both an artistic and technical form of competition.
But in the scene we also have a 'purely technical' form of this: the ST-NICCC competition: the artwork is a given, as a preprocessed dataset in a predefined format, and the challenge is just to write the best possible replayer for it, on your platform of choice.
I see it as no different as just another type of effect, where coders can try to outdo each other, and reach the 'world record' of fastest/most polygons/whatever. - isokadded on the 2022-12-31 14:56:24
- demo Commodore PET BACK TO THE PET by Shiru
- Really nice effects, making PETSCII almost look like a graphics mode.
And good music as well.
I especially liked the recording on real hardware. The afterglow of the green monochrome monitor works like an extra effect, giving it a bit of a Matrix feel. - rulezadded on the 2022-12-13 10:53:33
- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Batman Rises by Batman Group
- There are some really nice parts in here. I especially like the animated 3D parts.
And nice to see that it's done on an OCS Amiga. - rulezadded on the 2022-12-13 10:51:54
- demo Acorn Asynchronous by Desire [web]
- Nice work on the Archimedes!
Bit of an Amiga AGA feel with pushing all those polys and doing the bitmap zoomers and rotators.
Great artwork as well. - rulezadded on the 2022-08-14 15:53:58
- demo Raspberry Pi 420 years of Teletext by AttentionWhore
- Quote:
apparently they'd kept it going from 1982 until 2014 and I never even knew...
I work at a company that used to sell teletext systems to broadcasters. We actually still have a few customers who are still running their legacy systems. So teletext is still a thing in some places, such as certain German broadcasters.
Anyway, this demo is very cool, and exploits the relatively high refresh rate of a page that certain TVs support (mostly older ones with 'real' teletext controllers, as opposed to the modern digital ones), and turns it into an effective framebuffer device. - rulezadded on the 2022-08-10 12:24:58
- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Transhuman / Pachinkoland by The Electronic Knights
- This was some really impressive work.
An OCS demo that looks more like an AGA demo. - rulezadded on the 2022-04-06 11:48:14
- dentro Windows It's Over by optimus
- The SDL2.dll bundled in the archive seems to be an incorrect version. It seems to be a 32-bit build where the included .exes are 64-bit.
You can download the correct dll here: https://www.libsdl.org/release/SDL2-2.0.14-win32-x64.zip.
That should make it run. - isokadded on the 2021-06-05 21:46:12
- 4k MS-Dos Same Old Song by Dekadence [web]
- Excellent DOS stuff!
With somewhat of an Amiga feel, given those vertical raster bars and the textured cube.
Nice and smooth! - rulezadded on the 2021-04-04 20:08:24
- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Hologon by The Electronic Knights
- That's some amazing stuff on the trusty old Amiga 500!
