- For the record, this was plagiarised from my 256-byte demo named Sqwerz3, which I had written for my own regional and almost unadvertised online democompo. At the time, 256-byte demos were unheard of and I believe that I was the first to organise such a thing (?). But the important fact here is that this guy claimed to have written it (minus Sqwerz3's different palette) and "have lost the source code". Though he did so within weeks of my release, it took me something like 8 years to realise it had happened.

- 256b MS-Dos Plasma IX by Trimaje
- Hi, I wrote this. :-D
I made this using a combination of plasma, convolution, feedback, and diagonal rgb striping. It's called "plas9" because I have several other unreleased versions (maybe 10 more).
The original resolution was not 320x200, it was a 128x256 expanded to a fake 320x400 or similar, by tiling. I don't know any other demo that used that video mode trick (of making the RAM line length smaller than the visible scanline's number of pixels).
The plasma part uses the same sine generator as Sqwerz3. That sine generator works using a double recurrence equation somewhat similar to Bresenham's circle algorithm.
I was 18. - rulezadded on the 2016-11-23 06:31:47
- 256b MS-Dos sqwerz3 by Trimaje
- Hi, I wrote this. My inspiration was how Julia or Mandelbrot fractals are computed. I replaced the formula by something that would look like perspective. This also means that it's more like a raytracer than like an ordinary 3-D renderer. :-D
The rotation is made using a 128-byte lookup table of sine generated at startup using a recurrence equation I designed. - rulezadded on the 2016-11-23 06:15:11

- Hi, this is the author of sqwerz3. This effect was plagiarised from sqwerz3. If you look at the binary files, they have a long string of bytes in common. Basically, Shock took sqwerz3 and removed the palette code so that instead he could fit a string telling his lie.
