- 40% of the demo was ok, 40% was good, 19% was brilliant, 1% was genius.
there was a lot of technical demonstration there, and one (new) idea, which was of course the photomosaic endless zoomer for which this demo will be remembered. finally an effect i can steal - if i only knew how you did it ;)

- some kind of a "story" in the beginning, though it rapidly goes nowhere during the later part of the demo. clearly some very good ideas regarding transitions, someone payed attention to asd's seminar. thank you very much for ripping off timbaland, it was due. technically clearly cutting edge. colors were butt ugly, same goes for the explosions. felt like a clone of lifeforce at some points.

- after 40 thumbs up, let me be the first to thumb this down.
a big badass intro text, then stupid cubes rolling over ugly grass, look-ma-i-can-do-fullscreen-rgb-offset-effects, repetitious soundtrack, vocal fragments with no relation to the intro text, then cubes form a hand - but no progression from there. instead, black wire going nowhere.
zero ideas, no story, no progression.
if this is your idea of a gift to a minor party, i would rather prefer not to receive such a present. judging from the demo, it appears as if you were afraid that the quality was too poor to present the demo at nvscene. rightfully so!

- we were napping on evoke 2008 when this came on the bigscreen and i woke up from the music... half asleep i stared at the screen and was instantly captivated. it fitted so well with my dreams.

- ferris: just looked up hugo elias motion blur, and i think that's the method i used. i did a supersampling of 16/8 images per frame (with a bit of overshooting because it looks better), which is adaptive to the framerate. each image is shifted to form a 60° 4x4 or 4x2 antialias kernel as well. when the image is not moving, the lines appear anti-aliased. there is another effect you can do with this, which was not used, which is blurring and depth of field.
so with supersampling images, you kill several birds with one (cpu heavy) stone: realistic motion blur, anti-aliasing, depth of field. - isokadded on the 2008-07-01 11:30:54
