- This is a skill-free zone.
I promised myself I would only look at this if it was < 5MB download. It squeaked in, just barely at 4.9 something MB. Unfortunately, this demo is just like all their other demos: a looped soundtrack with a single graphic effect that is also looped. I ESCaped the experience after only about 30 seconds. Having looked at all the available demos for this group I have not been impressed at all. For what is going on in this demo it shouldn't be more than 1 MB to download. No skills here. - sucksadded on the 2003-01-05 10:31:22

- demo Windows mARTnificent by Minimalanimal [web]
- The music here is still boring, even more boring than the "ambient" new ager crap. I'm still wondering if this group has a coder because I'm still not seeing much evidence of one. Beyond a little alpha blending, I'm not seeing any effects here, certainly nothing that impresses me as a demonstration of the coder's skill. As zone notes, this group definately needs to learn something about compacting the size of their productions. Every time I see the size of it, I keep wondering how they manage to have such huge byte sizes for so little visual/auditory experience.

- demo Windows Man Kills Nature by Minimalanimal [web]
- The least sucky of all the minimal animal productions I have watched so far, but it still sucks. The soundtrack is so repetitive the Hammond organ salesmen in the shopping mall make for a more interesting sonic experience.
I am beginning to wonder if this group even has a coder, I haven't seen much evidence of one so far.
As for this being an exploration of "man destroying chaos/nature and giving rise to order", the whole concept is bogus in the first place. Spontaneous order arises all the time in nature and is not a function of man's existence. The very fact that life has evolved on this planet long before Man was on it is evidence to that. So not only is this production artistically bankrupt, its also intellectually bankrupt.
