- wow! this is the 4th worst production on pouet!
(with a perfect -1.00 thumb ratio and 11 thumbs down, only beaten by 34163, 27851 and 17278. by writing this comment i expect things to heisenberg) - sucksadded on the 2009-12-31 03:27:20
- demo Windows fr-062: the cube by Farbrausch [web]
- How is this effect done?
First of all you need to notice that no geometry changes at all. Basically we use two different meshes: a very regular grid and a very irregular mesh that was created by randomly slicing a cube.
Then there is a pixelshader that calculates a potential field of 4 points. The potential is shredded with sin() and modulo and then all pixels inside a certain range are rejected with "clip()". As a final touch, pixels near the border are tinted.
To make it more interesting, we first introduce a vertex shader that wobbles the mesh a bit.
The cell like effect is made by adding a texture to the potential field. - isokadded on the 2009-12-30 15:40:08
- demo ZX Spectrum mescaline synesthesia by deMarche
- yeah! its 4x4. that makes it 4 times more awesome! nothing sucking left. spectrum demos are shown without border, unlike c64

- demo ZX Spectrum mescaline synesthesia by deMarche
- very nice graphics, but most effects are 8x8. thats quite lame i think. and it needs 128kb.

- demotool Amiga OCS/ECS Sanity-Copy by Sanity
- sanity-copy is faster. period.
the final trick to beat XCopy is simple: the first copy copies track 1 to 80. then the second copy has to move the head from track 80 to 1 and start again from track 1 to 80. this makes a lot of noise with the physical drive and costs about 2 seconds.
sanity-copy copies the first disk from track 1 to 80 and the second disk from track 80 to 1, saving 2 seconds.
sanity-copy is faster. period. and it had monty python samples.
I should add that sanity copy was never aimed for copying illegal stuff, so it can't out trick any copy protection. but for legal or correctly cracked stuff it was perfect. the ram disk feature makes a real difference if you need to make multiple copies of multiple disk images. - isokadded on the 2009-04-27 01:03:02

- diskmag Windows Hugi #35 - Disruption in Chaos Theory by Hugi [web]
- i don't know if the internet makes 1984-style history editing simpler or more difficult. i don't like it.
then i don't like that article either, and i prefer a "presentable" demoscene, one that i don't need to be ashamed of.
i oppose any form of censorship. but if you have an article that makes so many statements that can be easily proven wrong, and that article seeds hatred, then printing it is irresponsible.
