- If anyone were in doubt, this is the conclusion to the trilogy.
Looking back "One of these days" seems like a teaser now, but it sparked the idea that there could be a bigger story to it.
"Darkness" was a display of lingering doom, but it ended with a cliffhanger and we didn't get to know what was behind the whole armageddon.
And now we get to see the whole picture including before and after, how a rogue planet ends it all. - isokadded on the 2018-04-01 11:38:27

- Salinga: time fragments of the story are intertwined in a nonlinear way, kinda like Memento-style. That was a conscious decision from the very beginning cause linear felt boring. But I admit the destroyed planet scene feels a little out of place where it is, even to me. Would have needed a few more weeks to really think it through :)

Funny thing is we had pretty much the same idea for the last part of our "Darkness-trilogy" :D - rulezadded on the 2017-10-01 11:23:38

- I agree with noby that the terrain didn't look particularly great, and I constantly got the feeling that those weird glowing orbs are suffering from some kind of Z-sorting bug, I couldn't put that part together in my head at all.
On the positive side, playing with the letterboxing was a nice touch, and I dig the overall mood as well. - isokadded on the 2017-08-07 12:14:10

- noby: I don't think you will, this one didn't age well :) Back then it may have worked as a bruteforce crowd-pleaser, but the direction is very haphazard and wannabe. Though I'm still proud of the post-apocalyptic end scene (not the bird).

- One could probably write an interesting essay on the psychology of perceived similarity of the original and the reinterpretation. I'm saying this because the amount of borrowed art is much less than we had in Offscreen Colonies or even in Darkness, and we didn't keep that a secret in either case.
I'm guessing people recognize the original much more if you borrow the main protagonist/concept, even if you put it into completely different environments. (Only 2-3 scenes have been faithfully (but of course imperfectly) recreated.)
That, or the reason is that the original is also an animation as opposed to still images.
Then again, if I could find the time I could be less inspired by others' stuff and do my own.
